You can also use the cars model inside blender to get the exhaust on right spot, just delete the body before your mod is ready. Then theres global coordinates in blender too so you can probably use these coordinates to get the exhaust end coordinate in the text file so the flame and exhaust smoke aren´t misalingned.
BeamNG recently created a plug-in for blender that shows you the exhaust jbeams, so you can move those around I believe to fix the exhaust flame location too! I’m gonna try your method though because it seems way easier 💀
Theres also a key for isolating/unisolating object wich helps when you want to do some fine detail to your part, try "\" (I tried different keys and it was "' *" key on finnish keyboard)... And don´t start your first project on pickup... it has some common exhaust parts so its not this straight forward with the files, body is on different file, exhaust on different...
Great Tutorial man! Helped a lot. Could you make a tutorial where you add more pipes? I’m trying to make a firehawk (BeamNG mod) style exhaust for the D-Series. Cheers!
How could I make a stock looking exhaust louder in the game or make it exspell more smoke? I want to make a louder version of the upfit exhaust for the D-Series and H-Series for example and the Diesel Versions should smoke more.
I believe you’d have to find where the actual “afterfirevisual” code is located. You’d have to make a copy and call it something like “afterfirevisualbig”, and change the size. Then just replace “afterfirevisual” in your exhaust with “afterfirevisualbig”. Just a guess, I don’t know if it’ll for sure work or not, and I’m not sure where the “afterfirevisual” would be located
Ima try that. But idk if you have the toyota starlet mod from 2fastracing but it shoots huge flames sorta what im trying to replicate.@@NoNameNoWorries
Yo a guy on discord was helping me engine swap a 200bx, the engine was from a mod called BUE smth, idk specifically.. so in summary we managed to make it work and kind of show up, but the engine mounts didn't wanna stick to the engine slots, so whenever I chose them they would go back to blank, the engine also wasn't in the right place and didn't wanna move, lastly the radiator wasn't working nor showing, do you have a video on engine swaps or could you make one maybe?
so im lost i cant get them to appear in game there just invisible i have a truck that has ann exhausts i wanted for other trucks and cant seem to figure it out
Should I be able to customise a mod car the same way? I can' t find my car in steamapps\common\beamng\content\vehicles folder, it's in the appdata\local\beamng\0.32\mods folder.
There're two different folders, make an unpacked folder in the documents (appdata) folder, and copy whatever files from the steam folder into the unpacked folder so you can make changes like that EDIT: The steam folder has all the base game files, like zip files, and the documents folder is where you make changes and temp changes like map edits save there
@@NoNameNoWorries I got it working, I moved the car zip file from mod manager's mods folder to the folder where the sunburst is. Great tutorial nonetheless!
