I'm really looking forward to being advised that my AltMill is ready for pickup... at which time I'll go over this tutorial video one more time. Thanks for putting this together, Dan & Scott!
The eccentric bushings aren't needed for assembly, but are provided for adjusting the tram of the spindle mount if needed. We should have a resources page up this week explaining some of these details.
If you're getting both the Masso and PwnCNC ATC they both work with each other - we've not had someone try to adapt our machine to the Masso though so if may or may not be possible. We offer a similar setup to the Masso though with a touch screen and board
When plugging in the cables, often the camera just shows the back of your hand, when you move your hand, the actual location is shown only for a few seconds, which is not long enough for me (I replay this section numerous times). I suggest you first show the location using a pointer and then plug the cable in. While plugging in the cable, video recording the back of your hand is not super helpful.
I'm curious about squaring the table? He leveled it but did not even check for square or twist. Certainly they don't just trust the end cuts and the lengths to be correct, equal, and square? As nice as it is, this is still mass produced in China after all.
All of the extrusions are cut and measured before they get packed to ensure the table is square after assembly. We also machine critical faces for extrusions if necessary to improve tolerances.
Ben really hooked us up! Give this guy a raise!

For American viewers, Canadians say "Zed" not "Zee" for the letter "Z". So when Ben says "Zed axis" he is talking about the "Zee axis". Cheers!
A sawhorse works pretty well for the 3rd and 4th leg as well.
Thank Guys
Waah.. great demonstration ...
I noticed you didn't use the 2x Eccentric Bushing, are they needed?
Great job on the video!

Can this cnc machine be used with te Masso controller and the PWN ATC system?

Can the spindle control go on the right and the left or is it just able to go on the left side of the machin
Yes, you're able to configure it on either side of the machine!
Will the Altmill have a spindle that supports a 1/2 bit in the near future?
Yes we're working on a 3.5KW spindle that'll handle larger bits in the future.
The right side gantry plate installed is harder to move then the left. Is that going to be an issue?
Nope! If you follow the steps in the video you should be good to go!

@@SienciLabs So, you cut the extrusions in house and qc them all before packaging?
EU warehouse would be nice.... I HAVE SOME SPACE FOR YA
