This playset is cool, especially for kids, but I still think the 2012 sewer lair is the definitive one. You can use it with pretty much every iteration of the turtles, minus the larger scale collector’s lines of course.
The rise playset beats em all. Stronger thicker plastic, same ports to frankenstein parts from other sets and about 3x the display levels/tiers while taking up same or less total space than the 2012 set. I just keep the 2012 one for parts.
This is the literal example of “family couldn’t afford as a kid, but I can as an adult”. Did I need a sewer lair, figures and turtle van? Nope. Did I get them anyway? Yep. A beautiful display piece to join my other plastic dust collectors. I think a kid would love this to play with as well (this adult had fun setting it up). Both the lair and van have since gone on sale at Walmart, but I find you never know if they’ll have stock later so I ended up buying it all at once at full price.
Great review of the this cool playset . I was able to attach the original sewer pipes to this new one to be able to attach both playsets together . Amazing!!
That's very cool! my vintage lair sadly doesn't have the sewer pipes :( On a side note I've always wondered if the pipes would go through the snake puppet hole on the motu frightzone
Great set my son hasn’t stopped playing with it. I was disappointed that at the 90.00 price point it didn’t come with any turtles but overall well built and thought out
Cool set! It's a bit small compared to the older sets. I do hope they add another structure set that goes with this, maybe a bigger subway set with a subway cart. The subway track has good potential!
It'd be real cool if it expanded as part of the TV series and sequel films. I honestly don't mind it being more compact, with so many lairs of days gone by space is at a bit of a premium
thanks, I got this for 3 weeks now, and I've watched your video review 3x..😅..Im on the fence if id open it, as the character images do bother me some..I thought they're stickers, it.would have been great if they just went for a street scene backdrop with buildings

cool set, lots of parts and large size, but I have a question: are the mutagen and turtles not included in the kit?
The turtles are seperate but it does come with a bag of ooze. I didn't open mine though cos I already had bought one of the canisters.
OK, thanks for answer
Wish it didn't have characters on the backdrop, but it's an awesome playset nonetheless. Great job showing it off, thanks for the review.

They should have included the playset van. I would buy it then.
That would have made it an expensive piece. I’d have liked it though if they had a parking spot built in like some past play sets have had.
Those other characters printed on the cardboard backdrop is a real turn off. I wonder if they scale up well with GI Joe classified.
