    As a Celtic fan Davie Cooper was always held in great esteem by us. It's May 2024 now but he'll never be forgotten. God bless him.

    I'm a Celtic supporter and I grew up watching Davie Cooper play for Rangers and Scotland(should of had loads more caps btw) , he really was one of the greatest players there ever was. Modern so called "greats" could have learned so much from Davie, not just the skills he had but also the manner in which he played the game. This guy loved his Rangers, a true Rangers man of that time. An absolute tragedy dying so young with still so much left to offer.

    Speaking as a die hard Tim Davie Cooper was sublime, the most skilful and entertaining player of his generation, the game just cry's out for players like him but unfortunately they don't come around very often.

      I said the same - keep your Laudrup's & Larssons Davie Cooper would bring Michael Schumacher to his feet with his skill. Tommy Burns was mourned equally on both sides as well.

    his goals that took us to Mexico, that penalty in Cardiff and the tragedy after then that free kick v Australia at a packed Hampden the first Scotland game after Jock Stein died. Slow as a snail but turned as quick as a tornado. smooth as silk and sheer magic

    • @TheRangersArchives
      @TheRangersArchives  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Davie felt he could still play first team football, and Souness was unable to guarantee that at Ibrox after the arrival of Mark Walters, hence Davie signing for Motherwell where he was assured of a starting place.

  • @johnhiggins779
    @johnhiggins779 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Very sad to hear the bigoted sectarian songs coming from the mob at Ibrox just at the start of the film.
    Davie Cooper would have nothing to do with such hatred and bigotry, Davie was a great player and a gentleman. RIP Davie Cooper.

    Sad that Scotland haven't produced a player of his quality since he passed, Leigh Griffiths is looking very promising but needs to work on his dribbling skills, But his free kicks are too notch.

    • @Crutchiehatescharlie
      @Crutchiehatescharlie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You just tried to compare the Beatles to one direction. Totally different class I'm afraid. Leigh is a wee Ned playing in the spl which sadly looks like a pub league these days

    • @Justdisco2
      @Justdisco2 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never compared Leigh Griffiths with Davie Cooper, I said he's looking promising,.

    • @jackhunter4341

      Leigh Griffiths is no where near that standard

    • @raymondmcdonald355

      Griffiths wouldn't deserve to clean Davie's boots.
