    Great review! Footage looked awesome. As a fellow C70 owner, I definitely agree. 1.5x seems like a perfect squeeze to me. I put in an order for the Mercury lenses, so stoked to start shooting on them!

    I wished you had the focal length on the screen for every shot you did outside I’m getting a c70 and I don’t wish focal range to get for a good middle ground I can use indoor and outdoor

    For the handheld music video shots - was that using e-stabilization in the c70 or post? It looks very clean!

    Now I want an animorph lens that makes subjects appear half-animal. One can dream

    makes sense that you can't use the .71 diopter for the EF/PL lenses - but what about an EF to EOS R adapter with no glass?

    • @SoundItOutFilms
      @SoundItOutFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, you could rent EF instead of RF versions of the lenses if you want and get the same field of view

    Can these lenses be rented online? I can't find them anywhere.

    Hi mate, you had some close ups of the « blue flare » version but I cannot see any « blue anamorphic lens flare » in any of the clips. Did you use the neutral one instead? Thanks

    • @SoundItOutFilms
      @SoundItOutFilms  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's because it was overcast - nothing to flair the lenses. There's one short clip somewhere in the video where Mark is using his phone flashlight and you can see the subtlest blue streak.

    Does your speed booster work with your helios lens because Mines doesn't? But you're saying these lenses will work?

    • @SoundItOutFilms
      @SoundItOutFilms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, mine works! It's been rehoused with an EF mount. When you say it's not working, what do you mean specifically?

    • @ineedstoknow
      @ineedstoknow ปีที่แล้ว

      @SoundItOutFilms it still looks closer to 85 or 95mm. I thought it would have a field of view of around 50 or 60mm. But it looks real telephoto. Me and you have the same helios rehoused lens.

    Hey man, great video! Long time watcher, first time commenter. Where did you rent these from? I'm also in Boston and I'm hoping to try these out!

      Hey! Rule Boston Camera in Newton has this set. I think it was $150ish for all 3 for the day.

    Just curious. What os your go to (non-anamorphic) lens for short films?

  • @colehammontree

    Great video, Eric! I just picked up the c70 2 months ago, and I've been loving it. Excited to dip my toe into anamorphics, and I might have to rent these! Curious on your thoughts about something like the Sirui anamorphics - something like the Sirui 35mm 1.8 that's native RF, made for S35, and has a 1.33 squeeze. Love your videos dude, and been enjoying following you and coming along on the c70 journey!

  • @Hrom937

    I've found a lot of the 'natural' softness of the C70 is actually the canon focal reducer. (especially at wide-open apertures) Have you tested the sigma primes with just a straight adapter side-by-side?

    • @SeanNeale
      @SeanNeale ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I feel it’s still slightly soft even with the RF 24-70. But I think it’s a pro, not a con. Image is delicious.

  • @McarthurBeard

    So is the 35mm a 35 on the c70?

    • @loremipsumproductivityengi7552
      @loremipsumproductivityengi7552 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Considering the crop factor of super35 sensor, you would get 35mmx1.5=52.5mm equivalent FoV.

  • @GabrielScindian

    Canon still have not given us the ability to desqueeze 1.5x on the c70. I wonder if they forgot

    Tell that guy the face of that guitar projects way more than he can hear, and his acoustic mix is bad because the guitars too loud. He should play quieter for a decent acoustic mix.
