I had more than only one bike in my shed with freshly checked valves and recently synched that ran like shit. Guess what was done. There were bills written, that was it. Fingers crossed the old girl can be saved.
I never fail to learn from your videos. Loving the increased content. If they become a chore just make the editing and filming simpler. We all love a good story and will watch them regardless.

Hi bud,probably no use now but I had an fzr600,ran like a pig! Spent ages giving them a bloody good clean and was really pleased I'd not rushed it and threw em back on,fired it up and it idled ok but not smooth so did a balance and got them pretty much spot on. Did a fine tune on the idle mix and it sounded smooth and no hanging or dying. All excited I hopped on,Mrs said it sounded sweet! Went to pull off and it stopped,tried again,same result.hunted around for info and nothing that was remotely like my symptoms. Cutting it short,and the reason for this comment,I found that the needle jets were egg shaped! Something found on downdraught due to the needle resting on the brass jet and over time wearing them,found a set of carbs off another bike and didn't even clean em,chucked em on and rode off into the sunset so to speak. Didn't know if it would help anyone with the same problem,another school day for me! Oh and cracking videos!
Great post, over fuelling may have burnt the valve seat bad enough to cause the leak, i would be looking at the top end if three out of four pots are good it's unlikely to be the rings unless there has been an oil supply issue to that one bore.
I'll stick my neck out here...quick and dirty test of adding some oil to that low pressure cylinder to improve the ring seal, then recheck to see if there is any change, pointing towards valve sealing issues?

Ooof, a bit of a nightmare if you ask me. Not even 100psi is basically toast barring any issue with valve sealing. I´m on the edge of my seat for part 3. Cheers.
I hope the valves are tight and cause the low compression but would it have any compression at all if they are indeed tight ? Im thinking either the valves are not sealing or the piston rings . I love diagnosis videos like this one and the work you do and thank you for showing your work , can't wait for the next one .

For example if one cylinder has broken piston rings or leaking valves or a scratched -seized bore what do the rest of the cylinders have to do with it ? I am no expert i just try to learn . We will find out in part 3 i hope !
Clock cleaner solution????? mixed and used with care is great. Fuel level is always better to check than float height, where possible. Remember to use the exact fuel you intend to use, E5-E10, not wd-40 or diesel, and always read from the bottom of the meniscus. we did a long time ago fine tune by raising the fuel height when a jet was unavailable (botchit and scarper race team). pop some oil down that no 2 pot and do the valve clearance if no improvement. admit i was suprised by the low reading compared to the others.

I could write a small book on bs owners have told me over the years. One of the most funny was a bike brought in barely running. The owner swore blind he had no idea why. It turned out him and his equally thick mate had wondered what was under the diaphragm caps on the CV carbs. They paniced and slammed the caps back down when the diaphragms had popped out. His mate told me what actually happened 😂
Mate I had a Husqvarna with an ignition problem many years ago. Took it to the dealer and watched him through the workshop door. Amongst other things I watched him pull the magneto off. First ride back the flywheel come loose and stuffed the crank. I went back and the the dealer flat face lied to me saying that they never pulled the magneto off. When I said that I watched him, they said that I wasn't supposed to be watching mechanics in the workshop and doubled down on their denial. I have NEVER taken a motorcycle to a mechanic since. Long story short, the mechanics could have lied to the customer. Not all are trustworthy.
Why not convince the customer to do a valce check? If your suspicion is correct you could have a tight valve which would explain the lack of compression. Slightly held open.

I am literally dealing with the exact same issues on a similar bike ('87 Genesis). I bought it as a restoration project and I knew it sat and was neglected. I had similar compression issues that mysteriously went away (probably a sticky/dirty valve) and the carbs were a complete gong show. Everything from needle sliders on different settings, wrong size pilot jets and main jets in the wrong carb. Never say you've seen it all when the world continues to produce people who simply don't give a shit. Curious to see how this all turns out.

i would do a leak down test to see where the leak is , could be tight valve clearances .

I usually put some oil in cylinder and if compression goes up it is problem with piston/cylinder assembly, if not, than its the head/valves issue

Other cylinders have decent comp. so would be strange if nr. 2 low compression is caused by tight valves imo

drip some oil into low compression cylinders, to see if its piston rings(compression goes up) or valves(no difference)

Coke, vinegar or pure orange juice. Not secret chemicals. Mixed the 3 together on a Suzuki GS750 carbs, looked like new.
