      For those customers who value their personal time, I am with you… they should make an NG version. I changed 8 orifices on a huge weber some time ago , this video confirms its nearly the same steps as a weber genesis LP grill, I would pay the extra for an NG model.

      @@c3dmf4s I agree with @robhaynes6173. I bought a natural gas Weber grill 20 years ago and I was given the option of buying either propane or natural gas at the time. It may have cost me more money to purchase (I don't remember now) but it sure was a much simpler process.

    To anyone who is on the fence about this kit and wondering if it gets hot enough, I can assure you that it does indeed. Every bit as good as using propane if not better. Without the hassle.

    Very easy to do but I find out to take the original orifices from the griddle was very hard because of the sealant they used. Two recommendations: First make sure is not to cold outside when you are trying to take them out the orifices will snap. Second if the orifices are stuck do not try harder, they will break. I put a small paper towel around the orifice and spray a little bit of wd40 on the paper (not the valve) left for a few minutes and no issues to take them out. Now is all done and it works great! Good luck!

    Hey Blackstone, FYI, the thread sealer you use in this video is only rated to a working temp of 125 degrees and your manual says it must be at least 400 degrees i.e. permatex 59214 or loctite 567..

    The Omnivore griddle top uses a newer kit 5395 with 1.55mm orifices. The older legacy griddle top uses the older kit 5249 with 2.0mm orifices. This is not a well known fact and many of the older kits are out there being sold and installed into new Omnivore versions.

      Was just coming here to post the same thing. Watched the video and use the 2.0mm orifices. Shame on me for not reading the updated instructions that do tell you to use the 1.55mm ones with the Omni top.

    ***VERY IMPORTANT***
    *2 THINGS*
    1. Use a 7mm socket instead of the provided tool. The tool has been known to round off the corners on the installed orifices when trying to remove. THAT WILL BE A NIGHTMARE.
    2. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. I know the video has that, but it's worth repeating.
    I've read MANY people that overtightened.
    *GOOD LUCK*
    It's worth the installation.
    No more propane hassles!

    Looking to purchase a large griddle and have been looking for one that is natural gas compatible and not propane. And I see there is a kit to convert the Blackstone one....I appreciate that but wouldn't it just be easier manufacturing the same products that can do natural gas out of the box? So strange.

    • @ryknoll3
      @ryknoll3 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Easier for Blackstone? No. A small minority of griddlers use natural gas. Mfg'ing and having to have retailers stock another griddle that they're not going to sell a lot of is more of a hassle than manufacturing and stocking kits for conversion.

    I did this, when I turn the grill on high. It’s super loud and the flame is only by the igniter. When on low it goes down the whole burner.

    • @jubeikiwagami4671
      @jubeikiwagami4671 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Mine also makes that loud noise I take it from the gas line coming in. Also when on Low it does stop the burner as if not enough pressure for the gas to come out and start lit. As far as turning on, mine does turn ion normally in sequence without holding down the igniter. Perhaps this is how it works when using Natural Gas and the pressure is already low.

    Yes to making the gas jets orifice size larger or smaller for LP or NG. Goes further to the regulator diaphragm and the spring tension. LP being 11-14 inch water column with NG being 7-10 inch water column. So I see in your conversion kit from LP to NG 'which I want to convert, how does the regulator come into play. My thinking is you need a NG regulator which is not mentioned or addressed or included in your kit. If you leave the LP regulator which has a higher tension spring on the diaphragm, then you will get less NG. NG lower pressure, lower tension on the diaphragm spring for more NG to burn. Things to consider as it's not just putting in new jets to rock and roll unlimited gas. Please advise.

      @TammyD123 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the Q&A section for the 1934 on the Lowes website, someone asked the question, “Can this grill be converted to natural gas?”
      Blackstone responded with the following:
      Yes. Using kit 5249 but you will need a different wrench. An adjustable wrench as the orifices in this unit are much shorter. The kit was designed several years prior to this unit was produced.

    The Blackstone website says "The Blackstone Natural Gas Conversion Kit is not optimized for the Blackstone AirFryer Griddle Combo". Does anyone know what makes it "not optimized"? I'm assuming you can still use it because they don't say it is "not compatible" (in bold font) like they do when mentioning the Culinary series. I'm just curious what issues you might run into if trying to use this conversion kit with the AirFryer Griddle Combo.

    • @jharlow84
      @jharlow84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      After researching more on the Blackstone website I found a post from 5 months ago where they said "Please be aware that the kit is not optimized for our propane AirFryer griddles. Because they require a larger amount of propane than our other products, natural gas isn’t able to provide a high enough pressure to efficiently run the air fryers and griddle, which can result in longer cook-times and cooler temperatures." .... So now my question is, if I only tried to use either the Griddle OR the AirFryer function alone (never at the same time) would the gas pressure still be too low and cause issues?
