  • This was a brutal but beautiful walk and must rank as one of, if not the best walks in the Cairngorms. As part of a multi stop trip away, Braeriach and the Chalamain Gap were the first stops on our journey. Unfortunately the rain put a halt to any of our further plans so we were really glad to get this one ticked off.
The climb to the first top took it out of my knees, relentless and steep is an understatement. On the way back down the constant impacts took their toll but worth all the pain for the experience and views from this corner of the Cairngorms.
    Hope you enjoy the video.

Many thanks for a great video. How was the Chalamain Gap created? I am assuming it goes back to the Ice Age, given the number of huge boulders. I guess it must be similar to the boulder field at the summit of the Lairig Ghru.

Yeah pretty much formed by melt water from the large glacier that covered that area. We loved it, great fun picking your way through the sometimes huge boulders. Thanks for watching and for commenting, really appreciate that.
