    This is a very informative video. I have had a difficult time figuring out the leather analogy because different leathers move differently. Seeing the scratches and how the slab should stand on its side were especially helpful. Thanks for taking the time to share.

    Extremely informative and well put together to explain leather hardness and ranges around it.

    Hi there! Thank you so much. Just about everyday I walk a tight rope with this very thing.
    What clay body are you demonstrating?

      Chris, I believe that's Standard 112 (brown stoneware)

    Very useful infomation,
    I make a mess since i didnt realize about the canvas on the wood,and also the rolling stick that i get was made of hard plastic,so the clay got stick on it,and stick to the wood surface as well,,the wood strips: .5cm (less than 1/4 inch),the only issue that still remain is that the clay strips to soft bend and crack,and if i let them dry a bit they crack all over

    Właśnie takiego opisu z przykładami szukałem. Czy glina wyschła już wystarczająco, aby nie utraciła swojego kształtu czy już za bardzo i nie da się z nią pracować. Dziękuję za podzielenie się doświadczeniem!

    Why I can not paddle a bone dry body of clay?

    • @aaronstratten9594
      @aaronstratten9594  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bone dry clay, by definition, is no longer flexible and plastic so paddling or any other attempt to manipulate it will likely result in a break.

    It would be more helpful if you would have had the variables consistent. Using hours first of all and explaining your location to identify possible humidity. Then not covering again with plastic prior to the last demonstration. You needed to use the clay you were holding out for amount of water as your example.
