Just so you know, you just saved my day with this tutorial :) I was rather desperate and at a loss as to what to make for a family member´s birthday and this is just perfect. I have loads of lovely scaps of homespun .. Thank you for posting this - and all your other videos - I do love the tank top it looks just lovely, as do you.
Remember, never put a timer on crafts. It will take all the fun out of it and that, in turn, will reflect in the outcome. The only thing one really needs to put into craft is love.
    All the best,
    Su / Pinguinpullover

I love this! I also collect little scraps so having something to make them into is so nice. Thank you for your encouragement 😊

I have done circular weaving with children and we wanted to take them off the hoop to make mug rugs, but they curled on themselvs! Any ideas?

Hmmm... you'd be less likely to experience that if you did a traditional frame loom and made square mug rugs. But I love the idea of circular mug rugs because that's too cute. I'm wondering, did you use wool or cotton, and then wash them? Those fibers are likely to shrink and that would cause curling. Otherwise if the tension of the warp and weft is overall too tight they would curl once they came off the loom, especially if you're using a yarn with some stretch or give. For that just try to weave loosely, especially as you get further out in the circle. And then depending on how you're finishing them to get them off the loom, just make sure that the outside circle has a lot of give in the material (probably more than feels right when it's on loom), to give it space to spread out instead of pull in. In my experience with weaving tension of warp and weft is what causes 90% of issues. If you haven't tried washing, you could see if that helps with the ones already made. Or even try blocking them like you would for a knit garment to get them to stay in the shape you want. I hope this helps!
