Buildings will replace the trees Pollution will replace the air we breathe I'm close to the mountain, just miles away But I can't see the hills from here today We can't just let it pass us by And as I look into the sky Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long Take a picture of this place cos extinction is not so far away Our skin will fry like a steak well done When there's nothing between us and the sun We can't just let it pass us by And as I look into the sky Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long Until it's gone - Until it's gone Until it's gone - We'll never miss it until it's gone, gone, gone All the efforts seem to fall With cars and cans of aerosol I feel so guilty, then my pride will die When I see the grey, self-created sky Until we find a better way We'll have to learn from all our big mistakes Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long Until it's gone - Until it's gone Until it's gone - Until it's gone You'll never miss it until it's gone, gone, gone Seems like a letter that we cannot send Fells like aluminum we cannot bend Tastes like a mixture that we cannot blend But we must change the course of the recipe to the end, to the end
It's interesting because this song rips so hard, but the subject matter of the lyrics are kind of unusual for punk around this time. Not many bands were stressing the importance of global impact on the environment. I had The Daily Grind on cassette or it might have been cd and listened to it many times.
+Johann Bévillard I gotta disagree. They may have touched on some environmental topics, but Bad Religion sang about a lot of things and used more vague, poetic lyrics with a bigger vocabulary. Came off a little pretentious to be honest, but they still had some good songs.
+marcryptic But you saying that Bad Religion also touched the subject in their own way is kinda agreeing with me isn't it. I was not trying to argue your comment, think about it I only did mention Bad Religion which do not negate what you said. And you replying that they did it more vaguely and in a more poetic manner do not negate the fact that they still did it. Stay punk my friend!!
Daily Grind + Leche con carne + making friends = Best NUFAN albuns.
This, for me, is the best NUFAN formation. Always will be.

This def got me hyped today!!! RIP Tony
Buildings will replace the trees
Pollution will replace the air we breathe
I'm close to the mountain, just miles away
But I can't see the hills from here today
We can't just let it pass us by
And as I look into the sky
Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long
Take a picture of this place cos extinction is not so far away
Our skin will fry like a steak well done
When there's nothing between us and the sun
We can't just let it pass us by
And as I look into the sky
Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long
Until it's gone - Until it's gone
Until it's gone - We'll never miss it until it's gone, gone, gone
All the efforts seem to fall
With cars and cans of aerosol
I feel so guilty, then my pride will die
When I see the grey, self-created sky
Until we find a better way
We'll have to learn from all our big mistakes
Something in the atmosphere is telling me it won't be here for long
Until it's gone - Until it's gone
Until it's gone - Until it's gone
You'll never miss it until it's gone, gone, gone
Seems like a letter that we cannot send
Fells like aluminum we cannot bend
Tastes like a mixture that we cannot blend
But we must change the course of the recipe to the end, to the end

Well bad religion sure did.
