In the Netherlands there are a lot of small parties and nobody wins more then 30% of the seats in parlement. All cabinets are based on coalitions where all parties need to compromise. Nearly all people who vote for another party than Geert Wilders' party don't want him to become the prime minister. So he might get 30% of the votes but it would be very weird to assume that he would have to be prime minister if 70% of the country don't want that.

I have some sad news for all silly people saying "Wilders for PM": it is not going to happen. He may claim to speak for the Dutch public but with about 17% support in the polls that is a minority. The overwhelming majority of this country does not support him or his views and does not want him to become PM. Not only is he already being caught up in the polls at the moment (he always does much better in polls outside of election season) but any other big party will not work with him. Sure that might be because they find his views repulsive, but what many seem to forget is that this already happened in 2010. Wilders provided parlimentary support to the right wing government (effectively governing without direct responsibility) but he dropped out in 2012 when things got difficult, triggering new elections. That is why they will not work with this man. They have tried but he has broken their trust in the past. Not to mention how he broke his promise not to increase the retirement age on day 1 (!!!) after the 2010 elections and how his party has voted against increased budget towards healthcare of the elderly despite his "take care of our elderly before refugees" spiel.
I can hardly believe this started 7 years ago. We only just read in the media this year 2024, of the outlawing of Islamic statutes. He is speaking such pertinent things for today!

Even though the parliamentary system will keep him out of office, I believe that he will get the largest number of seats in this weeks election, and I really look forward to seeing how that shakes things up for The Netherlands. I've been following this guy for many years now. Members of my Dutch family a long time ago said that he would be Prime Minister someday, and it would be awesome to see them validated in that claim. Sereously how stupid can people get? the Netherlands leaving the EU is the dimbest thing they could possibly do. All of the Netherlands main trading partners are in the EU, the Netherlands is the second largest agricultural exporter in the world. When do people start learning, that not everything bad about the country is the EUs dault? There were Morrocans in the Netherlands before the migrant crisis began.
A referendum based democracy only works if people are educated and understand how their government and international institiutions work. And it is abundently clear that most people don't.
Wilders has no idea what he is talking about. PVV is a populistic party, which means they promise a lot which the people think they want. Tbh, most people have no idea what's going on in the world, and a lot just blindly vote for Wilders. Luckilly enough, The Netherlands is a highly educated country, which realises what they are voting for. Most people won't vote for PVV anyway, as they realise it's a wasted vote. If Wilders becomes the Prime-minister, it's just a matter of time until the next election as no significant party wants to rule with PVV.

Good luck to our Dutch cousins. You have the chance to reclaim your lovely country for yourselves, as it should be. Just as we have done in the UK. Being a good neighbour means helping and welcoming those that live next door to you and our European friends like the Dutch people are good neighbours but it does not mean we give the keys to our house to other people and let them come in and out as they please. In the Netherlands there are a lot of small parties and nobody wins more then 30% of the seats in parlement. All cabinets are based on coalitions where all parties need to compromise. Nearly all people who vote for another party than Geert Wilders' party don't want him to become the prime minister. So he might get 30% of the votes but it would be very weird to assume that he would have to be prime minister if 70% of the country don't want that.
Indonesia is following the Netherlands for that system.

I live in England and would love to have our Government adopted the same policies as Gertrude Wilders. We need to look after our own people first before we take in a foreigner who don’t respect our laws. I was a proud citizen of the UK but sad to say that I’m no longer proud

The journalist say that Mr Wilders is an outsider Copernicus and Galileo was also outsiders.
I have some sad news for all silly people saying "Wilders for PM": it is not going to happen. He may claim to speak for the Dutch public but with about 17% support in the polls that is a minority. The overwhelming majority of this country does not support him or his views and does not want him to become PM. Not only is he already being caught up in the polls at the moment (he always does much better in polls outside of election season) but any other big party will not work with him. Sure that might be because they find his views repulsive, but what many seem to forget is that this already happened in 2010. Wilders provided parlimentary support to the right wing government (effectively governing without direct responsibility) but he dropped out in 2012 when things got difficult, triggering new elections. That is why they will not work with this man. They have tried but he has broken their trust in the past. Not to mention how he broke his promise not to increase the retirement age on day 1 (!!!) after the 2010 elections and how his party has voted against increased budget towards healthcare of the elderly despite his "take care of our elderly before refugees" spiel.
May the "Force" be with him.

Even though the parliamentary system will keep him out of office, I believe that he will get the largest number of seats in this weeks election, and I really look forward to seeing how that shakes things up for The Netherlands. I've been following this guy for many years now. Members of my Dutch family a long time ago said that he would be Prime Minister someday, and it would be awesome to see them validated in that claim. Also, sadly, because of that hair, he will inevitably be compared to Donald Trump.
