- All cutscenes including Eggman in Unleashed! Mike Pollock's performance is always a delight to hear and in Unleashed his lines are delivered in such high quality. This is definitely one of my favorites!
Eggman is so fucking cool in this game, the intro is amazing with how cunning and calculated he is to trick Sonic. Breaking the entire world apart to release a giant deadly beast was thrillingly diabolical.
And people say he didn't get to do much in this game but he did. He was constantly trying to find ways to control Dark Gaia and find a way to make shit work. He was constantly sending out robots to destroy Sonic and stop him so he could buy time for the pieces of Dark Gaia to come to him.
And Eggmanland is a badass beautiful creation from hell. I love how he reveals in the thought of putting people through agony in a crazy death trap and is so proud of it. That's the fucking crazy bastard I love with all my heart! And the Egg Dragoon is one of the coolest bosses in all the series, he's so menacing and fucked shit up hard in the fight, it was amazing.

That opening cutscene is theatrical movie quality, it’s that good.
I do question why the music playing in the background reminded me of Back to the Future
This opening intro still holds up even for today's Standards its definitely my favorite

The opening is fucking badass. And also serves as a reminder of why Eggman resorts to trying to harness such entities: Sonic is _that_ big a threat.
Dr Eggman was so vicious and cruel here. He tore the earth apart and summoned a dark ancient beast which plunged the world in eternal darkness. Haven’t seen Eggman commit such actions since the Adventure days
Even then all he did was pissed on the moon in sonic adventure 2 in this he
He killed billions
Destroyed the ozone layer
Summoned a dark monster of death
Made millions of animals extinct
Messed up the moon's gravitational pull
Evaporated basically 80% of water on earth
And more
People say modern Eggman is a joke, even in this game. But need I remind you all that this is the very same game where Eggman *cracked the fucking earth apart, something that not even SA2 Eggman was able to accomplish.*
People don't seem to be much of a fan of Eggman's plan to build Eggmanland, but not only is Eggmanland being a theme park a COMPLETE facade, (which anyone could tell by playing the stage, that place is a nightmare) but that's the thing with Eggman, he does things with his own flair.
Any typical evil scientist would make their base a huge factory or something, but Eggman makes his a theme park, that just shows how he is.
You can also tell how crazy and desperate he is to kill Sonic during the Egg Dragoon fight, he pierced his OWN mech like twice with his huge drill lance just to try and do it.
The fact that he was able to restrain Super Sonic is a beast on it own
Just imagine if he didn't fucked up with the chaos emeralds, he probably would have a great power. I really hope that there will be Unleashed Eggman that already succeeded all his plans, I know Forces exists but it was weak and the story was really quick. Also there should more Eggman on scenes because he appears on screens rarely.
True, he's kind of goofy but still intimidating. Compared to other games from this style like Lost World, Forces and Colors, I much prefer the writing in Unleashed since Eggman is more in-character here than in the other 3 games.
I always liked the art deco aesthetic Eggman had in his base. Very classy! All the smooth, shiny white surfaces and robots could also be seen as egg themed too!
(Also I still want his floating egg chair lol)

I love how eggman will never go the easy route to defeat sonic. He made an entire space fleet and then summoned Satan instead of just sending him into deep space.
To be fair sonic survived literally being ejected into the earth's atmosphere and landing on earth with no injury

I'd say Sonic is the fastest thing alive, but Eggman consistently outruns Sonic, making the giant talking egg the fastest thing alive.

See this is why I am glad Pollock is staying, he does a very good serious Eggman as well and will be great in Adventure remakes. Eggman's Adventure voice is my favorite due to nostalgia but Pollock is almost as good as him.
It will be strange to have pollock saying iconic lines like "behold my floating masterpiece, the egg carrieeeeeerrrr!", But the guy is too good to not have to voice act those iconic moments (also eggman in sonic adventure had the best voice actor of that game, every line is delivered so perfect that i can't help but fall in love with eggman in both adventure game).

Mike Polluck survived the voice apocalypse of the Sonic Universe again, he will always be Eggman and couldn't imagine Eggman without him, so glad!!!!
He describes himself as Eggman’s caretaker. Plus he does it for Deem.
That ending where Eggman yells while chasing SA-55 is just hilarious!

Yup, and that's not the only instance of his impressive physical strength! I really wish people recognized it more often because it's amazing what he can do with his own hands, without the help of any of his creations.

this intro is so detailed that they even have facial pores for eggmans face..
This was the only game where Mike Pollock was given the chance to be a more menacing Dr. Eggman, like Deem Bristow. It's different, but still fantastic. Jason Griffith also probably delivered his best Sonic performance in this game.

Let's just be honest here, in the beginning cutscene, Eggman look so HD, that it hurts
I feel like Sonic Unleashed did an amazing job at characterizing Dr. Eggman. His cunning, his intuition, and his grand narcissism (which may or may not be justified). Dr. Eggman has always been among my favorite video game bad guys, and Unleashed has a ton of credit for that.
There's ever been a "friendship" quite like Sonic and Robotnik.... well except maybe The Doctor and The Master.

unleahed is my favorite version of eggman as they handle him well with what he does to the planet that reminds me of sa1.(just wish we saw more of him.:3)
also kinda always thought in colors with his amusement park eggman was trying to rebuild eggman land(it's implied to cave in from the egg dragoon fight but we don't really see it destroyed.surprisingly felt a bit bad for him with how adventure esque the tone of unleashed was you could say it was also made as an ultimate tribute to his grandfather geralds legacy.)since with how big it was it could've been a new eggmanland/could've used what hyper go on energy was left from sonic destroying the generators to mind control everyone to rebuild it.(another favorite sonic game to me with eggman,orbot & cubot and seeing more of sonic and tails friendly banter being the highlights.)

Astronauts usually survive via the craft they're in, and Sonic's busted a ton of robots, so I think that might translate to something?

Fun fact, this is the 4th time he's survived reentry. The 3rd time was in Sonic Advance 2, where Cream, Tails, Amy & Knuckles could all survive reentry as well. The 2nd time was in Sonic Advance 1, where Tails, Amy, & Knuckles survived reentry again. And the 1st time was in Sonic 2, when after destroying the very 1st Death Egg, he fell to the planet and was picked up by Tails in the Tornado for the first time C:

Exactly. He often talks about Sonic’s ego, but Eggman is not exactly the personification of humility himself, which is how he screws himself in this game. He’s so caught up in the partial success of his plan that he really doesn’t think Sonic will defeat him this time, so he just tosses the nullified chaos emeralds aside along with him.
