I am so so impressed by how you did it . Like girl, it came out so so good . It made me even want to try to learn how to sew . As well this video was so relaxin, thank you for this vibe ❤️
omg thank youuu!! And yes you should totototaaaally try it out!! Start with simple alterations, and youll see how much of a difference your clothes will fit you!
yeah, for the last pink dress, I realized that I could use my elastic thread so that it doesnt pucker up. it came out perfect! But I wasnt going to go back and fix the other ones so welp hahaha
You forgot to show Albie in his new bandanas, I just love seeing you both in "matchy" outfits, so cute. Love the pink skirt, good work, you are so lucky you have a master seamstress to call for supports. I have a skirt I wanna flip this gives me mojo to do it!!!
Love that you always show your struggles. It happens and you definitely learned to just roll with it. Everything came out good in the end too! I especially like the 2nd top and the 3rd dress with the neck tie. Super cute and fun~ Also, shout-out to your sister for always helping out too! We see you girl
Love this! Everything is so lovely! The “topstitch” you did on the lining of the pink outfit to make it lay flat is called understitching. It stops the lining rolling round to the front. Just in case you wanted to know for the future 😊 A lil how to for anyone who’s interested: you want to open out the seam so it’s lying flat and push all the hems from both fabrics under the lining and then stitch them down as close to the hem as you can. 😊
All the dresses turned out really cute! My only recommendation would be to hand sew the pieces before you make a final decision. That way it will be easier to unstitch :)
Girl, you have so much endurance! Especially with the seam ripper. They all turned out so well, and you should definitely be proud of yourself! I love watching your sewing transformations, and it is not lost on me how much work it takes!
I love how hard you try with the the things you work on. I literally cut a dress shorter with scissors and wear it like that lol it doesnt look good but I dont think most people pay attention, which I think is true, BUT thats also why I appreciate your effort so much more. And this is the start of a whole new education for you which I think is so cool. Youre awesome, nathalie. Thanks for your creative videos.
Watching this while taking a short break from my current sewing projects: turning a pink T-shirt × a pair of pants into a new yoga bag plus project #2: resizing a too big shirt plus attaching a picture to the front. I also just picked up today a way way too big top I want to turn into a top + skirt set! Doing these sewing projects can be fun but yeah one makes lots of mistakes! But that is how you learn. All of your projects turned out so good! And often the hardest thing is making that first cut! Takes a lot of bravery! I actually like to listen to youtube while sewing. Stuff with lots of talking where I don't have to watch the images. Canam Missing Project (Missing 411) is great! And doing these kinds of projects is great for the brain! 😁
Someone in the comments told me that I did understitching and I was like oh! cool! had no idea! hahah also didn't know what baste stitching was, but shoot now I know! hahaha. Thanks for watching Sanjana!
You inspire me so much ! It's crazy how they turn out so well, cute and cool ! Like the potential you're able to see in these pieces in the thrift store is cleary god given
my mom is a great seamstress and has graciously tried to help me multiple times learn to sew but I always get so frustrated. I have a pair of pajama shorts that I need to finish and this video is giving me some motivation to do it so thank you!
My biggest thing when I do thrift flips is that I have to film it, bc I gotta work about camera angles, and filming just about everything. If i was just doing it for myself, I would be more okay to make mistakes bc it's all on my own time! I hope you can try it again! Your mom is right thereeee, you dont have to spend that much time like I did just pondering on what to do next hahahaha. Good luck Dana!
You did such a beautiful job with all of them! That last dress was super cute on its own haha I was shocked at how amazing it came out in the end though!
I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS VIDEO! nat you did so well im obsessed with how you always manage to flip things and make them so stylish! my favorite one has to be the halter dress for sure but the two piece outfits were so cute as well! the halter dress is giving iconic 13 going on 30 at that party! also not me thinking i can go thrifting and flip stuff like this when i have ZERO experience with anything sewing 😭 thank you for the video it made my monday work day 💕 stay safe nat and i can’t wait to see you wear these out!
I love this video so much!! It's always so cool seeing you give new life to clothes that you already have (in spite of all of the struggle you went through 😭), and I really like how all of the pieces came out!!! I think my favorite has to be the halter dress because the style is really cute and the pattern is really unique as well! Shout out to your sister for having that vision for the dress!! 🤩 Thank you so much for sharing your hard work with us!! I'm excited for the next video!! 🧡🧡🧡
WOW!! I am so impressed with how good all these flips came out!! I want to learn how to sew so I can do this with clothes. What can’t you do…you are a jack of all trades❤️❤️
I’ve been looking forward to this, and you did not disappoint. 😍 You made so many cute pieces! They look so much better now, and much more YOU. And btw that blue color on the dress looks so beautiful on you! 😍👍
I love your learning process. Trust me, hella relatable lol. On the darts, I've learned they can't be more than 1/2 an inch folded or a total of 1inch flat. Your back dart should be around 6 inches in length and your front darts should be around 4 inches in length. Don't be afraid to take amounts from the side, just make sure you don't tapper and instead take a consistent amount throughout. For example, if you need to take 2 inches off a skirt, use 2 half inch darts and take half an inch on each side from top to bottom (these are flat measurements). This will give you a more seamless look because you are following the natural shape/pattern of what you are tailoring just making smaller. I hope that helps! Love your videos : )
These look amazing! You did a great job! You should be proud of yourself! This made me think of Sewing Club back in the day and you made a " bubble" skirt lol I was impressed back then
U such an inspiration TwT Truly admire how you just keep going and guuuuuuuurl, ur final products solo look AMAZING 🤩 keep up the great work girl! Profesh seamstress in the making😌👏👏
Thank you so much for sharing this!! I’ve been wanting to do more sewing but have been so scared. Seeing your process and your mistakes really inspires me to want to start. I have to start somewhere right? And I’m never going to get better if I don’t try right? Okay yea. 😅😁
Love that sanity girl, it provides such wonderful content from you. You know you did a damn good job for not being a seamstress or tailor, so give yourself more credit for even doing something… ☺️😁😊🙌🏽🤛🏽🖐🏽
It’s so amazing to see your creativity at work. Just watching this video inspired me to get a little cute for class cuz I wanted to look as cute as you did 😂
You are a champ 🙌 that first piece would have defeated me 😂 but I have mad respect for the time and effort you put into these ✨️ the pink dress was my fav 😍💖
bwahahahahaha. trust im always like yo imma give up- but then im like.. what am i gonna do with this footage AND my house became a mess for no reason?! nah girl- get in there and finish this job!!
yay! a 30 minute video 💖💖💖! everything came out so cute. and you gotta register for youtube university lololol! it will help cut down the time of trying to figure out how to execute the next step. i think you would enjoy Wendy Herrera (even though she hasn't posted in a while 🥲). this reminded me i wanna make most of my work wardrobe...which i should start soon cuz i go back in this month 😭.
I love how you turn frumpy clothes into really cute flattering clothes, I think you could have a boutique and sell them xx
omg thank you Tabitha! I dont think they are in any way ready to be sold, BUT maybe in the future!!!! Thanks for commenting bb!
This is how thrift flips would actually go for me so it was helpful to see someone go for it, make mistakes, and manage to fix them.
Props to you for trying these projects! Everything looks great!
thank you CJ!
Learning how to sew on slippery and thin dress fabric with lining is super hard but your killing it!!! Love all the end results
yeah, for the last pink dress, I realized that I could use my elastic thread so that it doesnt pucker up. it came out perfect! But I wasnt going to go back and fix the other ones so welp hahaha

Homie thanks for another great video! I needed this as a sign to learn how to create pieces that I like. You're the best 💛🌻
thank you for watching Kelly!!! You know its a very useful skill to learn!
It's also so cool how you just intuitively figured out 'official' techniques by yourself, like understitching and putting in basting stitches!
Someone in the comments told me that I did understitching and I was like oh! cool! had no idea! hahah also didn't know what baste stitching was, but shoot now I know! hahaha. Thanks for watching Sanjana!
That halter dress is amazing!! Those colors suit you so well, I didn't expect it to be THAT much of a banger but it really was! Inspiring as always!
