I love using TH-camr patterns cause they usually make a video to go with the pattern, which I find way easier to understand. Probably also a good way to avoid scams, cause one TH-camr I follow had their work stolen and used to create an etsy store (it was still a valid pattern, but this way I know I’m supporting the actual person).

One of my fricken majors was Apparel Textiles and Design and i never sew 😂 But seeing you go for it, through all the struggle, actually made me nostalgic for the suffering we endure patterning and sewing. I love patternmaking, the feeling of accomplishment you get when you take flat fabric and create a 3 dimensional piece!!!! Ive been really into knitting and crochet again lately, but i REALLY need to get my sewing stuff back out. You really inspired me❤

I am currently sewing along with you as I watch this. The end result was so cute. I did a similar thing to myself for my cousins royal baby shower. I upcycled a pink eyelet top I got from my mom into a corset. My first one ever , first time using boning. I wish I did a mock-up because I altered a free pattern, and i added a puff sleeve.The fit was off way too big , the binding I brought was the wrong color. It looked awful 😖. It is safe to say I did not wear it to the baby shower. BUT I did finish it a month or 2 later. I took my time made bias tape and took it in, so the fit was perfect. I was so proud of myself. The end result when it is good is kinda worth all the mistakes. Also if you can find someone local it could be helpful to take lessons. You did an awesome job. The hardest part of sewing is not giving up when things don't work out.

I always do a mock up but then get frustrated when I have to make so many alterations which never go right first time. I have fabric sat out for 2 days now which I should of already cut into! lol.

you finished the lower part first?
yes, it was waaaaaaay easier to make and construct and I finished it with elastic, so I got it done in like 5 hours (including making the patterns) :)
