I am disappointed in Scottie for saying such words and degrading his greatness. MJ gave respect to Scottie in his Hall of Fame speech in his introduction, saying “you didn’t see just me in those highlights, you also saw Scottie”, emotional the way he said it. MJ gave Scottie so much love, something a teammate would love to hear.

Like many, MJ was a great player drafted by a bad team. He came into the pros as the best player in college basketball. He had the sixth highest scoring average for a rookie in NBA history and shot over 50% from the field. He missed games in season 2 for a foot injury and still carried the Bulls to the Playoffs. By year 3, he came in second in MVP voting. This is personal for Scottie Pippen.

I think the fact that MJ is still relevant and is the main factor mentioned in that 90’s Bulls run (as he should be) mixed with the fact that Pippen has made many bad investments and lost a lot of money while MJ grows richer by the second mixed with Pippen fumbling the bag during contract negotiations is the reason for his sourness. I don’t think he really feels that way about MJ as a player. I believe he’s speaking on how he feels about MJ in general but uses the “teammate” verbiage as a way to cover up for the fact that he’s trying to slander MJ on a personal level. There’s no debating it. MJ is and always will be the 🐐. He is the reason for todays style of game, todays fashion, todays contracts, todays sponsorship deals, todays comparisons because he set the bar at an unreachable level. 6/6 w/6 Finals MVPS. Cmon Scottie. Do better.

What this is really about is the fact that Scottie felt insulted by them insinuating that he gave up on the team after the contract situation and deciding not to do surgery. That upset him that they put it in the doc even though its what happened and even though everyone including the people in the doc, had empathy that he was underpaid for so long. He clearly blamed MJ for having that on the doc.
Scottie is a man who holds grudges. I seen an interview he was talking about sneakers and he was still upset 20 + years later that Nike didn’t do what he wanted with his signature shoes even though he was with them for 20 years! This is who he is. Add that to the fact that his ex wife has humiliated him several times in the public eye and the latest humiliation involved MJ’s son and this is what comes of it.

Pippen became a great player because of MJ, not the other way around. If Pippen was never on the Bulls and never exposed to and inspired by MJ's greatness he would never have become a great hall of fame, top 50 of all time player. He probably would have been a very good defensive player with good slashing ability on the fast break, kind of like a smaller Rodman with more offensive ability. Pippen's jump shot improved greatly from his rookie year but it was never as smooth as Jordan's. Without MJ's inspiration Pippen would have been just a very athletic defensive player and probably not even an all star. No matter what was the case Pippen is shown to be so ungrateful, not to MJ but for his life in general. He has 6 NBA titles, a hall of fame status from a great NBA career, money and fame, by knocking MJ he is knocking his own life. There are thousands of guys who had just as much athletic ability as Pippen at 18 who never got a chance at College ball or the NBA, at 57 he should enjoy the blessed life he has and be grateful not spiteful.

It's incredibly sad because the person who should matter the most has always shown Scottie the utmost respect by saying you cannot even mention his name without including Scottie. In all my years, I have maybe only heard that type of admiration maybe once or twice from a player of Jordan's caliber - when Magic speaks of Kareem & Jerry West speaking of Elgin Baylor (or Wilt Chamberlain in later years).
Pippen please unplug and work this out in therapy and behind close doors. Even if that bridge between him and MJ is completely destroyed, don't tarnish your NBA & Bulls' legacy. The Bulls are one of the greatest dynasties and the '96 Bulls are arguably the greatest team.

    • @juju-vl7oj
      @juju-vl7oj 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Because it's a team sport . Jordan had the perfect teammates to complement that style of play.
Players individual value has always been subject to change based on how the supporting cast complements that individuals strengths.
You specified non 2 guards and 6'9 + guys always being the winners but within that there's always been a myth that a big man post scorer was always the centerpiece of winning.
60s Russell didn't lead his team in scoring.
Wilt won when his scoring decreased 24ppg and 15ppg in his 2 title seasons.
Kareem won with Big O and won only 1/10 seasons before Magic.
Hakeem won because he was the best defensive player in the league and surrounded by 3point shooters.
Shaq won surrounded by good shooters like Fisher and Horry, and Kobe.
Duncan was a very unselfish big who sacrificed scoring to play with in a system.
And today we see Embiid averaged nearly 10 more points than Jokic yet Jokic is a way better player.
It makes sense that the 3 most beloved players of all time are guard scorers, MJ, Kobe , Steph.
Jordan's "statistical" dominance is just scoring dominance.
Scoring at a high volume isn't the most valuable thing a player can do but it impresses people most on a stat sheet so people think the Bulls winning was all to do with Jordan.
      Embiid 2 , Harden 3 , Westbrook 2, Carmelo 1, Iverson 4 , McGrady 2, Dominique 1 , Dantley 2 , English 1 , King 1, Gervin 4 , Maravich 1, McAdoo 3,
27 combined scoring titles and 0 rings except McAdoo 9ppg on the 82 Lakers.
Points per game and scoring titles are very overrated accolades.
And Jordan was a great guard defender so he has 9× Defense 1st Team and a DPOY but really guards don't effect the game defensively half as much as forwards and bigs. The defensive accolades of Duncan, Hakeem etc mean alot more .

@@kamotetops1572 bro the tapes aren't burnt. Litterally every game he's ever played is on TH-cam so I've seen him play.
Plus I'm not belittling Jordan. Belittling a player is saying they suck, are trash , they're a choker, they had no impact on winning , they're a loser or they make every one worse etc..
Overrated is a relative insult because yea people put him on a God pedestal as if he won by himself . That's why people make such a big deal of 6-0.
For Jordan fans they find it belittling to his legacy for someone to not bow down and say he's by far the greatest they've ever seen or they don't like it when you point out how good his teammates were when he started winning , compared to the rest of the league at the time.
Take the best player off of every team in the 90s , nobody had a better supporting cast than Jordan.
1994 he retires. The Bulls go 55-27 with Pippen and Grant as the 2 best players, did they replace Jordan with some depth? Yea but it's not like it alltime great depth Pete Myers and rookie Kukoc.
This team led by Pippen and Grant took the Knicks 7 games and barely lost. This was arguably the best version of the Knicks in the 90s. So yea I'd expect with Jordan it's an upgrade enough to win a championship, just adding Clyde Drexler to that might win 4 or 5 rings.
The next season despite issues the Bulls were 34-31 5th in the East before Jordan came back and that was without Horace Grant.
Jordan came back and they lost to the Magic , Horace averaged 18 and 11 on 60% in the series.
That summer they add Rodman who despite his issues was the best rebounder and defensive player at his position in the league and he had been the part of alot of winning in Detroit and San Antonio.
I think Jordan is the greatest perimeter scorer relative to the competition in league history arguably, but i also think the 80s and 90s defense is very overrated.
By overrated I don't mean he's not a phenomenal player, and by overrated defenses he faced i don't mean they sucked.
The goat debate is always going to be subjective , plenty of former players who played against or watched Jordan don't think he was the goat, Kareem, Big 0 , Dr. J , Wilt, Isiah, Pippen, Laimbeer, and many others say they think someone else is and plenty of others think it's debatable.
Just because the majority think he is doesn't mean he is either, alot of people who think he's the goat never watched a full game , they just like the style of play and read stat sheets accolades.

I get what Scottie is feeling with his thoughts regarding Jordan, but I know why he's acting this way. He's discouraged knowing that Jordan gets so much acknowledgment and recognition, and he doesn't get the same treatment on an equal level. We know Jordan did all the things he did but he was a superstar. Pippen feels that he should be treated the same and not because he's just his Robin and Jordan was his Batman. Scottie brought a lot to the Bulls dynasty, but it gets overmatched because Jordan gets all the piece of the pie and recognition at the end of the day and he doesn't.
More of like I should be treated equal as him but Jordan was better than everybody in the NBA. Just a bit of jealousy from Scottie I can see that. They're teammates but sometimes when one player gets so much love and attention and recognition, you should get that same level of respect if you both did the same thing as far as bringing championships and being teammates. I think that's what's happened, and Pippen is being regarded as Jordan's sidekick rather than for the player of his caliber and level that he was with Jordan. Pippen was still a very good defender and shooter, player but his legacy gets overshadowed because of Jordan as his teammate and gets all the appreciation at the end of the day. Scottie has lost it and really needs his head to get straightened out.

You guys have to look at the context in which Pippen was speaking. He was talking about Jordan being a team player.

Scottie insecure and the fact that Jordan pointed it out in the documentary makes him furious

That "horrible" player Scottie is talking about didn't that guy drop 63 pts in the Garden in the playoffs against one of the greatest teams ever in the '85-86 Celtics? Even without alot of help that game went to double OT before they lost and i believe game before that he had 40+.
MJ was an amazing player before Scottie got there

Scottie really mad about that scene where he didn't play mad over the last shot and him getting surgery during the season. His story about his life was the best episode though

It's obvious some of these former players once their career is over have nothing to do in life except trying to relive and rehash events from 20-30 years ago. Pretty sad.

When Michael Jordan left to go play baseball. Scottie Pippen wore his shoes in a game. Pointing to the camera. Saying come back. Michael Jordan did whatever he had to do to make his team a competitive enough to stay in the game

it's pride..sometimes when a great player plays with a teammate that's better, than he feels bothered and upset deep down.
kobe bryant didn't like shaq after a few years of playing together.
kobe was upset and bothered by shaq because when they were teammates, shaq got all the attention.
when kobe scored, it was nice and great to see, but when shaq scored it had everyone amazed and more interested to see shaq score than kobe.
kobe hated that and he wanted shaq out of the lakers because it got to the point that kobe could no longer tolerate being on the same team with shaq.

Pippen joined in 1988. Prior to joining the Bulls Pippens awards were Consensus NAIA All-American (2x) 1986, 1987. Prior to Pippens arrival, MJs awards were...theres actually way too many to even list and Im too lazy to type that all up. Scottie Trippen needs to go find something productive to do.

People really don’t understand that if Jordan didn’t regularly average 30-35 ppg in his final’s appearances those Bulls team wouldn’t have had enough scoring and would have lost. Those Bulls team were all time DEFENSIVE team, but most of the offensive load was on Jordan.

C'mon Scottie.. Even in Last Dance MJ said " When you talking Michael Jordan, you also talking Scottie Pippen "
MJ always praised him and Pippen just tries to put him down.

MJ Rookie year: Entered the league dominating... scored the league's highest number of points (2,313), averaging 28.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.4 steals per game in the 1984-85 NBA season. VS Scottie Pippens Rookie year: 7.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 79 games in his rookie season in 1987-88. Scottie was soft like a Mr. Softie ice cream cone when he first came in to the league, it took years before he was ready to contribute to help MJ win. If he is not playing along side Micheal he is not in the top 50 period. Give MJ Tracy McGrady and see how many more chips he would have won. or any above average player as his wingman..let alone a baller. Scotties is out of his mind.
