It wasn’t fun 🤣. With my second I was planning on taking all the drugs but she came so quick I only just made it to the hospital and then they forgot to turn on the gas. Hubby noticed and turned it on and proceeded to get high while I hemorrhaged and our baby was taken to special care and resuscitated. They are both happy healthy kids now but my birth stories will put even the cluckiest women off having children for life 🤣!

So, I had my daughter 4 years ago in an all-natural home water birth. I was in labor for 17 and a half hours. The first wave of labor felt like strong period cramps but I breathed through that stage. The second wave of labor was when I realized this was going to get really bad. I remember the pain was so intense it made me nauseous. The third stage of labor felt like death in slow motion. It felt like being cut in half with a chainsaw while my pelvis and lower spine were being broken apart. For hours. The pain felt like more than the human body should be able to endure. And every stage of labor makes the length of the contractions longer and the time between them shorter so by the time you're in the final stage of labor, the contractions feel almost constant. When it came time to push, I was too exhausted to stop pushing during the ring of fire and I tore, minorly, in 3 places but didn't even feel the pain of that over the pain of the contractions. All I felt was a "pop". Once she was out, I still had to push out the placenta, gently so it would come out in one piece. After a quick visit to the hospital to get a clean bill of health came 6 weeks of bleeding as my uterus flushed while waking every 2-3 hours to breastfeed. It was a hellish rollarcoaster that I will never ride again. That being said, I love my daughter more than any other living being on earth and it's such an adventure to get to see the world fresh again through her eyes.

As I was sitting in the waiting room I told them I needed to lay down because my back was ripping into. I told them to look at the time and when the doctor came out I asked him if she had my nephew at this time. He asked how I knew and I told him that I had to lay down because my back was killing me. After a spinal trauma, TENS was my life-saver. I lived with it at level 12 for anywhere up to 14 hours a day and it barely felt like a tickle compared to the pain without it! However, this was a while ago and the intensity of modern machines is probably greater! Kudos for trying it, Matt!

18:09 lol. I have severe low back pain. I tried a TENS unit I ordered on Amazon and had it on level 20 (probably different than yours at the same level if different brand) and it did not touch my pain. But one I got that the doc ordered and insurance paid for years ago (much better quality) had electricity that reached in deeper and was much better at pain relief. Highest I ever had it was 68. Gave myself skin burns a few times from having it on so high for so long. But that's the level of pain I deal with. I'm not "insane," but the pain sure makes me FEEL like I'll go insane. Kudos for trying to get a sense of what labor is like. I never had a baby so I can't compare. But I've often thought it's a bummer to have this much pain for so long and not get the reward of a baby of my own for all my struggle. Chronic pain sucks. I'm glad for my old TENS unit. The new one is useless, imo.

I've seen other reactors test "cramps simulators" that are TENS units with level 1-20 like this. Most of the female testers, who tried it to give an accuracy gauge, said their cramps were around the 10-14 range. None of them had endometriosis.
For labor, I think you need about a dozen more pads to cover more of the muscle groups, at least! 🤣
