Ill add to the list few things to hate: Air filter box, timing belts vent holes, controversial desmodromic engine on an adventure bike, easily damagable fuel tank.
@@droommotor Was there any noticeable change in throttle response? I'm considering getting the same system, but also want to get rid of the limitations that come from Euro5 compliance, namely, weird throttle response at less than wide open throttle.
Hi Chris, thanks for your response. It's called DUCATI Desert X Decal Sticker (LT-R) and you can find it on Dabrabbit with code DROOMMOTOR you also get a discount.
I think you are being picky. The main thing wrong with these Ducati Desert X is we don’t know why they are not making a centre stand now because as you need one to service the wheels & put new tires on the bike. Ducati have pulled them off the market for some reason? I have a n aftermarket one that the Ducati dealer in austraila told us to take off as their must be a problem with something for Ducati to stop making the stands no one seems to know at this stage. So what is the point of putting centre stand lugs on the bike and you can’t use them ?
I am from Europe and the dealership told me they will be available just not now, something to do with an approval, and they said something about Germany.
I had the suspension adjusted a week later on my desert x. Compression, Rebound, The works. And its tougher. So braking sharp to turn either right or left now the forks don't push down so far. It rides better. Also adjusted the gear lever by removing the one screw and repositioning the lever one and refitting the screw. Now biker boots fit.
@@droommotor no not on this. Too new really. I havent washed her either since I got her. Shes an off road on road and I will get round to it. For now got panniers and I am going to Europe for a ride around holiday. Greece. Italy. Etc
@@jamesbarratt593 awesome. also for that! But I noticed the suspension was set up for both. hence my question. You adjusted it for on road which is good but could be very awful offroad in this setup.
@@droommotor did not adjust it much. I dont like in traffic if you get the car in front brake that the forks plunged down far. That was not good. Thats what I wanted to resolve.
Mine essentially cracked on the way home from purchasing the bike. Almost $3k Canadian and no warranty. Would highly recommend not buying this bike for this reason.
You forgot the worst two things about this bike. #1, the extortionate cost of servicing ( just like all Ducatis ). #2. To clean or change the air filter you have to remove the fuel tank. ( I know many bikes share this problem including my Honda 650 Transalp ). I went riding in Portugal last spring and it was very dry and dusty so had to remove the fuel tank twice in one week. I'll personally never buy another bike where the air box is under the fuel tank.
@@droommotor they be just as rubbish ,worst bike I've ever owned ,first 3 months ownership was heaven, now its hell ,thank the bike gods for 4 year warranty although I'm getting rid of it this year or next spring for something else ,I was warned about owning a ducati 🤣🤣
Rear nut is a 36mm 12 sided. Not a very special tool. You can get it off any major hardware store. Wind buffering was not an issue for me but yes, there’s a lot of talk about it. I have two 30L enduristan monsoon bags rear. Plenty of cargo. Air filter is a bitch to get to. I hate the original tires and mirrors. Am changing hand guards to Barkbuster
Can't imagine forcing me riding a bike in public with a GIANT Ducati sticker all over it. Maximum cringe. Like those Chinese women who buy Gucci bags with the biggest possible logo.
Air filter access?
Also a really negative point
Hi, what tankbag setup do you recommend for the DSX? Thanks!
Because of the off center fuel cap I would recommend the lone rider or the giant loop one!

Yes yes! I agree absolutely
Did you remap the fuel map after decat?
No I did not!

Hp corse exhaust. You saying just the back or the full pipe decat version.
I don’t understand your question. Could you please explain?
What is the exact exhaust system you've installed
Sounds fantastic

I kept the data for the amount of turns on each fork leg if anyone wants to know. So they can adjust their own Desert X. Its much better ride
Do you also ride off-road?

Yeah I agree. Although for me that is not bad thing personally. But I can imagine. Servicing is about the same as an KTM.
New variants next year a rally version and a sp version , they will have the same issues but with better suspension and discs that dont warp 😅😅
Yeah! I wonder what the new variants will bring! I’m thinking better suspension and maybe standard some extra crash protection.
