      When u think about it tho, u are very important to ppl and them losing u might be the reason they might suffer depression after. No matter how hard life gets u must understand life is a dance…it has highs and lows, pure joy and unbearable pain but guess what? Ppl are there also experiencing your same highs and lows….u are never alone because your experiences can be relatable it’s just a matter on mindset…..I know this is weird but naruto is such a good ex of this 😂 he’s just tryna be accepting but is seen as a monster but he never let things interfere with his life. Even when he was all alone…..the only reason, and I know it’s a kid show so obv he ain’t gonna have suicidal thoughts, was his mindset….

      @@jodofly1158 you are clearly stupid. You can't call him a prick for 'talking shit about other boxers' as it's a strategy that almost every boxer uses. It's also what sells fights. Tyson is a hands down lovely bloke, he talks some shit (like wilder does and like mayweather does) for entertainment and to get under his opponents skin and after the fight, he's the most respectful man you could ever meet. That comes from hard work. He's training in the gym for his fights each and every day which shows the he respects his opponent enough to make sure he's at his best.
      On another note, they are discussing mental health. Has nothing to do with boxers calling each other names. And surely I'm not the only person that could see that you wouldn't do shit, it's people like you that couldnt take a single punch. Your a little pussy mate go back to wherever you came from

      @@ulriktnnesen5987 The same thing has happened to me, in my view. I know that feeling Ulrik, you described it beautifully. And none of this is to say it's not real or true. I know how real it is.
      When I was there I was often convinced there was no way out of it, and I desperately searched for anything to tell me that it's possible things will be great. And all I could see was that 'it might get a little bit better', like back to grey, rather than black. And grey was not enough. Grey was terrifying. I want white, not grey, and it feels like white is unobtainable.
      But I'm in grey now. And it's so much better than black. And white is seeming more obtainable. Context changes things. I really hope the best for you.

Things like these help to counteract the "perfect life" that we see in tv, movies, sports, etc. But when we actually see how many people who have everything some people dream about, and still struggle with depression, anxiety, addictions, etc., it helps to counteract the stereotypical view that famous people have it all together, which helps those who struggle with these things and encourages them to get help.

    As a life long sufferer of depression, I related with everything that was said. The feeling of being incapable of doing anything right, the manic, desperate hyper focus on an activity to distract myself from the ever-present gravitational pull toward the dark, the thought that the world and my loved ones will be so much better off with me dead.
    When I looked into my family history, there were many people who displayed all the common symptoms of depression. It’s not because I’m weaker than the older generation. People have suffered from mental illnesses throughout history, it’s just that they didn’t know what they were. Unlike the older generations, now that we have a medical understanding of them, we can form treatment plans. I believe Tyson Fury is right; we probably will never be able to cure mental illnesses, but there are effective ways to manage them.
    It means a lot to me for these good men to be talking openly about mental illness. I want to thank them both.

    Cried watching this, I’d echo a lot of what was said - you fight for so long to tell yourself you don’t need help, that you’re just having a bad day, that everything will be alright etc. and it all comes to a head, it’s hard. Try and speak to people, be honest with yourself first and foremost. Seek professional help, it’s nothing to be ashamed of, some will help you and others won’t so fight to be open if one avenue hasn’t helped you - it doesn’t mean nothing will. Exercise definitely helps, I was training for the London Marathon when I first sought help, I was so low and thinking about doing a lot of things I wish I’d never thought to do, but the training did keep my mind clear at times, as did talking to IAPT which is a great service in the UK. Don’t give up on yourself, you can pull through.
    So painful to hear Windass talk about being in the places he’s been too; he played for my club Sheffield United for a short time and he’s a good man, loved by everyone at the club when he was there simply because of that reason. I’m glad you got through the worst times and sorry you’ve been to the places you’ve been mentally - I’ll also never forget what happened with Gary Speed, a legend and another great man. Loved again by everyone at Sheffield United and gone too soon in the worst way. I’ll never forget finishing playing football with friends to be told what had happened, it was only a couple of weeks after my partner at the time lost her brother to suicide and I can honestly say that both events really changed my outlook on life and I hope that interviews like this make people consider talking about what’s going on in their heads because it’s a lonely place having those thoughts on your own.

      @@jodofly1158 hasn't helped the sport? He defeated against all odds one of the greatest to ever wear gloves in Germany on point's, and he beat him before he ever got into the ring. He's a master of psychological warfare, he's as agile as any heavyweight on the planet, and his punch combination's for such a giant are a thing of beauty. Nobody is denied a great career in boxing, just as no one is promised a good one, it's the hardest sport in the world and you have to make your own, if it's by knocking people out consistently, if it's trash talking, or if it's a gimmick the public can relate to, then you've got a chance to make a successful career in boxing, regardless of weight class. Fury lost ten stone, fought the most dangerous puncher since Tyson, and in many minds did enough to secure another world title win away from home. No other fighter who has ballooned like him has been able to get back to world level, never been done before. Not only did he balloon up to nearly 29 stone, he was suicidal, and in poor shape mentally. If that's not a champion I think your standards might be to high, or you don't have a fucking clue what you are talking about.

      Jodofly115 I really think you’re being sour for no good reason. Nobody has the obligation to help the sport, fighters risk their lives every time they step into the ring.
      With that being said Tyson Fury came back after a long lay-off and in his 3rd fight back he fought the WBC champion of the world. Which is what the sport needed, the best fighting the best.

    Honestly could not believe that I could relate to this topic, like I always knew I had depression but a part of me always doubted that idea into thinking I'm sad but honestly 6:40 it answered the same questions I asked myself if I had depression or not, legit the hardest thing about being depressed is speaking out because everyone expects you to just have a good day and then that's you sorted, your depression is gone, no, it's not it lingers it never leaves you, till this day I always make myself busy, but at a certain day when I'm not busy it all comes flooding in and honestly it feels good to know someone like Tyson and Dean could understand this, and hopefully everyone else can understand too.

Yunno depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain and keeping yourself busy isn't going to fix that , you need meds or electro therapy or something to fix the different chemical levels in your brain that control mood , no amount of talking or fun or keeping yourself busy will ever fix that, God knows what damage it's doing to your brain, could be a chance that if you leave it to long your are stuck like that regardless of treatment

    I think these guys were very brave. Tyson suffers from bipolar disorder, my brother struggles with that, it's hard to watch him deal with it, and being as he's a man, he never talks about it. His favourite expression is 'I'm fine thanks'.
    I went to counselling for depression when I lost the use of my legs and ended up living in constant pain, but I sought help because I could feel my life slipping further and further out of control and see it was hurting those who love me. It helped me turn things around when i started counselling. Best decision I ever made! It took a while to recover, it certainly wasn't an instant cure. But after letting it all out and talking it all through with the counsellor, we worked together to get me back in control of my mind and my heart. I did it for my husband originally, because I could see he was extremely worried about me...but it wasn't easy. Having said that, i am still unable to use my legs and in constant pain, BUT I am handling it better. God bless counsellors is what I say..they are marvelous people!

    The problem with mental health issues is that it is not logical. That is why people who have no experience of it can't understand why someone who is top of their game and has everything can be so depressed.
    You feel trapped inside your own head having thoughts you cannot control and the thought of dying sounds like a relief, at least that is how I have felt. I ended up abusing painkillers for over 5 years to cope with the anxiety and depression. Its been about 4 months since I opened up to my family and have been clean since.
    If you are still reading this and are struggling, please open up to someone as if they are close to you they can tell something is wrong. You just need to let them know how much and you will already feel a little lighter. Best of luck to everyone xx

    • @TomCL-vb6xc
      @TomCL-vb6xc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Babywilko The terrifying thing about it is that it becomes logical in the end - at least to the person experiencing it. Depressed people rarely look sad, act sad or even notice themselves that they are depressed. People that end up killing themselves don’t have mental breakdowns or cry every day, they just become silently conditioned by their own mind to believe that there is only one possible outcome. I think as men we don’t like to feel doted on - I would be fine sharing how I feel and being emotional but I would despise being asked constantly how I feel and would feel like a hospital patient. It’s one of the major aspects of toxic masculinity - toxic is not an adjective but used to describe a certain type of masculinity. There are different ways of dealing with it from person to person of course - some people may only need one hour of philosophical thought to clear their head. Others might require therapy throughout their whole life. However in terms of a general movement, we need to advocate for a better idea of what masculinity is and what we should expect of men. The reality is that this won’t happen overnight and suicide will continue to kill far more men than women but we have to start somewhere.

    • @94blondebimbo
      @94blondebimbo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TomCL-vb6xc As a woman I agree completely. My dad is quite old school and from a generation of men who were brought up to believe that showing emotion such as crying was a sign of weakness. My dad didn't cry at his mum or dad's funerals but you could see he was trying to stop himself. He told me that at his grandmothers funeral he saw his dad standing by her grave and all he wanted to do was walk up to him and hug him. Problem with that and the way his dad was, he felt like he couldn't. He spoke to his dad years later about it and his dad said that a hug was just what he needed in that moment.
      Thing is if you tell a young boy not to cry and that he has to show strength for others by not doing so, it will come out in another way... anger. That was the one emotion they were allowed to show so that is how a lot of men used to express themselves. That is not healthy for them or the people around them and I'm glad its changing.
      I think women of the time were also brought up to view men who showed their emotions to be weak or wimps. Its even a shock to people in the audience how Tyson just admits he cries at movies. We have come a long way from those days but that reaction shows we still have a way to go.

    • @TomCL-vb6xc
      @TomCL-vb6xc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Babywilko Absolutely agree. Improving our expectations of men requires an effort from all genders and it gives me hope that the younger generation seems to think the same way. Although we face our own set of issues being brought up in this day and age, I genuinely feel that we have a more considerate generation of people in the world.

So, what I do is to take action on things I can control, and try not to worry or think too much on thing that don't depends on me to change. I'm getting "there" but man, I'm not getting any younger, so that's related to what makes feel bad about myself. Just working towards my goals.
      Cannot image what makes you feel that way whenever you're not with a busy mind. But I hope in some way, what I share have you some idea on what can you do to feel better. It's not a good thing to feel that way whenever we are doing "nothing". I think sometimes it is healthy to just do nothing, talk with ourselves, figure ourselves out, and a little bit of tough love for ourselves in order to take action to feeling better.

    Thank you, thank you, training helps now, I'm bipolar and boy in struggling but hearing you guys reminds me that it 'will' pass, routine, honesty, and being around people who want the best for you, and educating yourself on your particular mental health issue. Good luck, and watever you do make sure it makes you happy. The deeper the abyss the brighter the light, or in my good old 'Irish' mother tongue - 'it's going through the shit that makes you appreciate the good times , x p.s
    We 'are all true warriors ' , x

    I love how they say money doesn't make you happy. Everyone always thinks if I just had X more dollars then I'd be happy. Seeing people that have millions of dollars say money can't make you happy really helps remind you there's more to life then money.

    When Dean was asked his favourite sexual position, at first I thought at that he meant his favourite position was his missus being in the room.

    The thing that's hard to help depression and other mental illnesses is every single mind is different it works different takes shit in different and doctors think talking to the same person that's had a previous person in about something else. It's not the same for everybody and the drugs dont work the same for every single person. NEVER GIVE UP

    This channel is possibly the best therapy I've encountered. I've had so much death in my life, its fucked me up bad. To see other men actually talk about real shit and still come out the other end is long overdue in this Stiff Upper Lip world.
