I lost all the footage for part 2. The problem was that lose nut. The 2 halfs of the basket developed a burr from bouncing around and ended up sizing together. Once I got the basket apart I sanded down the burr and replaced the clutch steels and friction plates.

I got one of these for free a few days ago. The motor was all seized up so I got it unlocked, rebuilt the carburetor, and fixed the spark issue and it’s starts up first pull every time and runs like a champ but now the hi low and reverse knob is getting stuck and when I accelerate it’s getting a loud clunk sound and kinda jerks. Any suggestions or ideas on what the issue could be?? 🤔

So do you soak all the cutch disc or only the dark colored ones ? I’m just wondering the four wheeler I have has been sitting 20 years and the clutch just acts like a brake so I gonna get it running first just to see if it will free up

If it's all gunky from people using the wrong oil or rust from water getting in there from sitting, a good cleaning might be enough. But if you end up replacing the bands you will want to soak them before installing.

@@RobMillerATV so you soak all of them ?

None of them of dry like a regular clutch?

@Robertbo4god these are a wet clutch. They are partially submerged in the engine oil. Thats why you need to use an oil made for a wet clutch. A lot of people use the wrong oil and gum the clutch bands up and they slip and burn.

My centrifugal reverse threaded nut was on so tight I thought I was fucked. No penny or anything could give enough stopping power to break it lose. 30mm socket impact would have been great to have. Had to shove a long metal Rale down in the pull start basket to get proper leverage. And a good pair of vice grips and beat on it with a hammer lol. It was so fucking far gone of ideas because att I didn't have a 30mm the one socket that is responsible for hours of hurt.
