when you use a whole gallon of oil like that to deepfry, you can wait for it to cool down, then put it back in the bottle through a coffee filter and a funnel. that oil is good for at least 10 different deepfry meals if you repeat this process. then you have a much smaller bottle of oil that you use for everyday cooking. but a bottle of oil that size with set you back 20$. definitely not something to waste for one batch of fries. reduce, reuse, recycle! wasting food is the worst thing you could do for the environment.

quick tip on gravy: make the flour into a slurry before adding it! Raw flour in hot liquids (that arent fats) will cause clumps :3 But if it goes in as a slurry (just flour and water) it'll incorporate properly. :D THIS LOOKS SO GOOD UGH

A tip: When doing home made french fries cut the potatoes and put them in water with salt, that way you"ll salt them from within and they release the starch into the water and you dont have to salt them after. It will be the best fries you'll ever eat. You are welcome. Love your videos btw :)

I’ve just started a capstone project for my graphic design degree that involves branding for a fusion restaurant of our creation, so I chose poutine and pizza because obviously who wouldn’t want that. Whenever I make a gravy and am adding flour to thicken the stock, I always mix the flour separately with a little of the stock, then add it to the rest. That helps eliminate lumps anytime you're adding a dry powder to a liquid

quick tip on gravy: make the flour into a slurry before adding it! Raw flour in hot liquids (that arent fats) will cause clumps :3 But if it goes in as a slurry (just flour and water) it'll incorporate properly. :D

Good suggestion. I also mix organic corn starch (instead of flour) with cold water and then add it to the broth. Turns out amazeballs!

A tip:
When doing home made french fries cut the potatoes and put them in water with salt, that way you"ll salt them from within and they release the starch into the water and you dont have to salt them after. It will be the best fries you'll ever eat.

The timing of this is impeccable. I’ve just started a capstone project for my graphic design degree that involves branding for a fusion restaurant of our creation, so I chose poutine and pizza because obviously who wouldn’t want that. So for the past week I’ve been researching poutine nonstop and now I’ve been blessed with this. This is also my formal request that you make a poutine pizza, thanks for your consideration.

I don't know what exactly you're going for with this idea but you could easily make a potato pizza crust, gravy as the tomato sauce replacement, and then the cheese on top. Poutine pizza.

Whenever I make a gravy and am adding flour to thicken the stock, I always mix the flour separately with a little of the stock, then add it to the rest. That helps eliminate lumps anytime you're adding a dry powder to a liquid

Have you been to La Belle Patate on Davie st, van?! It's owned by a guy from Quebec and it's as authentic as it gets! They got the steamies hotdogs too and about every kind of poutine you're possibly craving. My parents are Quebecois and they highly approve!
