Hey there. Im a delivery driver and stop the car frequently. What I do is use a battery back to power the hivemapper(make sure it supports 12v power) then a cable to charge the battery pack so it doesn’t run out. Works great for me!
I have 2 dashcams setup in my car. So if my front facing cam does 20,000 images my side facing cam only does about half of that so 10,000 . So its not a double earning with 2 cameras but more like 1 1/2 earnings and if your not in the right lane then its even less when its cars next to you blocking the view ... hope that helps
Actually the foundation rewards for previously unmapped roads just ended last week. So, the map coverage earnings are what you'll get (which should still be the majority unless you were in a really remote area).
They actually encourage you to use two cameras because it provides more data about what streets are like, in the event that your on larger motorways, as well as providing additional data on things like construction. I am still trying to save up the money to get one of these cause I do see the potential to make some good money with one of these.
For the bike mounts I think it'd be best to mount it to a helmet. Our heads function pretty well to stabilize for our vision. This is also generally how people record on motorcycles for various reasons.
yup, FTM bonus just ended so the incentive to drive an unmapped speed restricted road on route vs a road that not been touched in 7 days with a decent speed limit is a no brainer now.
@@DoItJustinKace also dont assume that as you recieve more cams your going to make 4x. Remember Helium, it was a cash cow until the market got saturated.
I was excited about it. Until they boned us with the delivery schedule of the HDC. Common sense tells me that the more people opt to upgrade to the Bee, and vacate their spot, this should move the HDC line faster. I ordered on Dec 31st. The website said delivery in May. Now the new updated shipping is TBD and very delayed. This means they allocated all resources to the production and fulfillment of the BEE cam, after taking thousands and thousands for the HDC. Now they are twisting our arm to force upgrades to the BEE. I think I am just going to cancel my order as I don't like the way this went down. I liked the idea but am not in need of anything. This is way more centralized than Helium, as these decisions are made behind closed doors and presented to us. Thanks for the content! Enjoy your vids brother!
They don't want the kind of trouble I will cause if Bees get on the road before HDC's ordered last year. Im gonna need some of those profits made with my money. lol
Crrrp, I was going to put one on my motorcycle to map South Georgia for what's left of foundation. Well, that is out. Bump this project... I guess you cold put it on a floating gimbal. It looks to me if you're already doing it like a UPS driver or trucker making money driving because you have to, it's a cash cow for a while... but if you're doing it just for the system to map for them, it's not worth it. I'm neigher so probably not worth the risk.
@@DoItJustinKace Yeah, you'd have to wire it into a cigarette lighter adapter, or on a motorcycle, into the headlight circuit. There are probably low cost or used gimbals available for FPV quadcopters and photography, active and passive... how well they can cope with the jarring bump of a pot hole right under the front wheel is a different matter.
