Man par kaunu, es nerunāju brīvi angliski. Video motivē mani uzlabot angļu sarunvalodas prasmi. Paldies Džastinam! P.S.

I was surprised on my 1st trip to Belgrade Serbia several years ago that most young Serbians in Belgrade speak English. Most large cities with the young population speaks English, not much on the older generation. I asked a young sales person where she learned English, she stated that in Serbia, they have a choice to learn a 2nd language in elementary whether is English or Russian. She stated that the majority chose English, she asked me if she can practice her English and of course she practice in return I would practice Serbian. In Serbia, they use the Cyrillic and Roman alphabet, she also stated that not too many Americans travel to Eastern Europe. Most Americans prefer to travel to more crowded countries such as Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, we as Americans should travel to Eastern Europe, meaning any country east of Germany. The locals do like it when we try to speak their native language and try their local foods, looking forward to travel to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania next summer.

@@antanassmetona4054 really? One thing i noticed though when i was in Estonia, was that some of the card readers text was in Swedish "Ta bort kortet" and i was very shocked. I even saw Swedish flags hanging on a street corner
@@chapno4255 because Finns, Latvians and Estonians saw Swedes as actual good rulers, not some oppressors. It can especially be seen in Latvia. It was like a cultural golden age for them when Swedish empire ruled over them. If we’re not talking about historical background, Latvians just see the Swedes in a very positive light almost like a cousin/brother relationship, Latvia looks up to his “brother”. Baltics and Nordics being Northern European, hence all this friendliness - does play into account as well. Economically and politically, Latvia and even other Baltics have Sweden as one of their biggest economic partners (Swedish companies are everywhere, everyone’s using Swedbank, etc.). But as I said prior, it’s mostly the historical significance that Latvians cherish and loves swedes for. The “I occupy you but don’t kill you and actually treat you as equals” thing is very appreciated.
@@antanassmetona4054 Thats nice, i know Finland has that "brother" relationship with Sweden and that many ethnic swedes have lived there for hundreds of years and still do, so a lot of swedish is spoken there. Everybody in Sweden knows that Finland and Sweden are "brothers"

Awesome video!! I’m local but lived in Scotland between 2011-2022. We study English from the early age 👶 💪🏻.
Hey Justin, thank you for this journey, mate. With summer finally here, we're really looking forward to seeing you again in Bulgaria. Cheers, mate!
Such a nice promotion video for the market and artists

@@J.E.E my pleasure 😎👍
Its pretty cool to see going through Riga. I was there for 1.5 week ago and Now seeing You go were i went is weird. But anyways i went to latvia i am half Latvian and half Norwegian and people talked Latvian to me and i understood and replied so its amazing how some few days can teach You. But do You have any tips on learning a new language because i am struggling with Latvian and french at the moment any tips?
Find a forum on a topic that interests you. Try, translate and correspond. Develop closer links with someone who speaks and make regular calls to practice speaking. Watch lots of shows in the language you are learning.
I'm from Latvia very good video and keep making more videos
Sveiki, i am very glad you enjoyed the video - stay tuned for more!! 👍😃 Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! 👍😃

My latvian girlfriend and myself are off to latvia in June for her daughters wedding,im really looking forward to it ☺️
Excellent as usual Justin, loved it...! Greg
Thank you mate, always a pleasure to get your feedback!! 👍👌😃
I'm just blown away - how many languages you speak, Justin?!.. Sooooo impressive!
Interesting vid feller. Thinking about going to to Riga. It has a mixed reputation so it is useful to get the gen from yourself. Respect to ya r.e. languages, I wish I had your ability. If I try to speak German it interchanges randomly into Polish, although strangely, not the other way. All good fun though and like you obviously experience, even learning a little marks you out as someone worth more respect effort and consideration in the eyes of many. Sad that more of us Brits don't try harder. Best wishes to you Justin, have subscribed.
what a great video, you just got a new subscriber! you’re so charismatic and your language skills are amazing.
Wow, thank you! 😃👍 i am glad you enjoyed the video!!
Really cool video! Glad to see that my country left a good impression on you ❤ much love from Liepāja, the 3rd biggest city in Latvia
i am so glad you are enjoying the content and stay tuned for more videos from Latvia!! 😃👍
The Baltics are such a unique bunch of countries, always so fascinating to me
I cannot wait to visit them someday
Greetings from America
Im from Latvia and I speak english too! :D + russian, latvian and ukrainian!
Wow how cool!! 😃👍 Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
Greetings from Riga! Nice video!
Thank you mate👍
Stumbled upon your video somehow :) Really interesting video, nearly all the Latvians i know are real grafters and mostly friendly and inviting people.
I visited Riga in April 2023 and I was very impressed by how well the Latvian people speak English. I was also impressed by how open, friendly and humble they are towards foreigners. But the biggest thing that impressed me was how safe Riga was at night to walk the street. I hope to return this Summer. 👍😊
I'm impressed by the number of languages you're able to speak. How many do you know?
Man par kaunu, es nerunāju brīvi angliski. Saprotu, lasu, rakstu +-, bet runāt nav viegli. Toties bez latviešu valodas labi protu krieviski, brīvi sarunājos lietuviski, protu norvēģu valodu (līdz ar to saprotu zviedru valodu un lasu dāniski). Video motivē mani uzlabot angļu sarunvalodas prasmi. Paldies Džastinam! P.S.
Liels paldies!! 👍😃
I added ur video to my channel list called - Somewhere in Latvia
Thank you so much! 👍🙂
Lovely outing, and sweet buys. I'm very curious about those keychains!
Hi Marita,
This place was full of unique and interesting things.
I agree I saw the keychains and decided to get one right away.
Most of all I like to see families running little businesses like that!!! I try and support that as much as I can
@@J.E.E Have you tried the honey?
lol I am Australian I will be in Riga next week
This makes me double down on my plans to go to Latvia next year! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! 😃👍 Thanks for watching!!
Great video, very positive. I don't know how I ended up watching your video, but I like it
i am glad you enjoyed it!😃👍 Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
The guy in your thumbnail reminds me of my father, not in his persona but in his wardrobe :)

Thank you so much!! 😃👍
13:40 "'But in England nobody speaks Latvian, I promise you that"
Haha, that's where you're wrong lol. There's probably a Latvian on every corner there considering how many Latvians left the country for a better life in England.
(Tikai online)
@@EiwaGreen-kc2wu Pirms padsmit gadiem Anglijā padzīvoju vienu mēnesi (biju ciemos aizbraucis) un pa to laiku paspēju satikt māsas vīra paziņas, kaut kādā parkā, negaidīti.
I want more similar videos about Latvia! I like it... Thanks Justin! -Ivans, Latvija, Rīga!
Liels paldies, i am so glad you are enjoying the content and stay tuned for more videos from Latvia!! 😃👍
What a heartwarming video mate. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thank you very much! 😃👍
Planning to come over to Latvia
The locals do like it when we try to speak their native language and try their local foods, looking forward to travel to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania next summer.
as a native Latvian I enjoyed it ! Very good.💪
Awesome! Paldies! 👍😃 I am very glad you enjoyed the video!! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more!! 👍😃
Technically Latvia and the Baltics are Northern European, but good video nonetheless.
Thank you mate for the feedback and I am happy you are enjoying the content 👌👍
Brit here living in VecRiga (a cracking place) and I have no problem getting by in English. I would learn Latvian (picked up a few words) but first C19 got in the way and soon I'll be leaving for southern climes...
Wish I had your talents for languages Justin. I'm off to Riga next week vai jūs runājat angliski? is my goto opener. Guess I won't need that now.
Always envied gifted linguists. How many languages can you speak?
Cool video.
Subscribed. 👍
Awesome, thank you!👍🙂
8:14 in the last years even in The Netherlands you can find now those push button waters.
In Yerevan the 'pulpulak's' (in street language and 'axphjur' in official language) where already there when I was born :)
Been 3 times to Riga and Jurmala. First time was 10 years ago and already then they were good at English.
Nice job, Justin
Thank you so much !! 😃👍
Great energy and warm personality! Something unexpected from English people lol
Thank you so much! 😃
the problem with our capital being a tourist destination is that it's nothing like the rest of the country
did not think of hearing swedish in latvia
decent amount of people speak swedish there. Latvians love Swedes as well.
@@chapno4255 yeah, with latvian case it’s like half brothers you could say. So many things these two countries share that most people don’t know about.
Have a great day !
-Yes
👍👌
Which camera do you use to record your videos? 😃
Thinking about it Justin.
👍
beautiful lady at the 3:08 mark, she spoke English better than most natives ;)
👍😃
Latvia is NOT in Eastern Europe.
Sir, the jam is for the curd pancake, not the potato one...
Hi my friend, it does sound unusual, but the flavor is amazing!! 😃👍 I recommend you to try the potato pancake with jam and sour cream, you won't regret it!! 😃👍 Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!
@@J.E.E OK, you convinced me. Sometimes an outsiders fresh perspective can surprise with new flavours. Have you ever tried peanut butter and pickle sandwich on white bread? It sounds weird but it is my favourite sandwich ever since the day i tried it. Not joking.
Mate, you’re a decent man, nothing but the best!
Thank you so much, i really appreciate the nice comment! 👍😃
genacvale brat.i love your video your the best

Riga looks amazing and I am going in December. However I have heard it might not be very safe. Is this true please?
