It goes to show how much the regulations hold motorsports back. Porsche made a fair few mods to the aero that aren't allowed in Le Mans. Makes me wonder what an F1 car could be if the designers were told to go nuts.

Ive driven hundreds of laps at the Nordschleife in various cars and game sims I know every corner by heart. The performance difference in between these two cars amounts to the drivers ability to not make a mistake. But it makes me wonder what if the F1 car got the better start and wasnt following the entire lap?
Loved this. The LMP 919 is the best mix of aero speed,drag and downforce. But the Ferrari shows how the dedication to speed/drag/downforce to get utmost stability can produce almost the same result whilst giving better driving lines (for tyre wear) with reduced gearing (for top speed/accelaration) and all whist having way less power.

The Porsche 919 Evo is fantastic, but the F1 car would destroy the 919 Evo in a real on track battle. Without the F1 restrictions you could make a F1 car around 5 seconds faster only changing a few couple of things. 100% sure. The same was for the Porsche, under the WEC regulations the car was much slower than obviously without.
This comparison doesn't show the full potential of the EVO mod! My best lap was a 4:59 with almost stock setup, but longer gearing. Vmax is over 370km/h and you don't have to care a lot about boosting strategy. Forget about DRS, this sim even seems a tiny bit faster than the real one.
The EVO was driven by the IA setting 100% of velocity. I’m agreed with you, if I drive the EVO I can reach 370 km/h, but if the EVO is driven by the IA, it reach 330 km/h. So It’s an IA fault 😳

Because this track has so many turns, the f1 would pull a faster time. 919 evo has more strength with its top speed. Many years ago they said that an F1 car could do Nuerburgring around 5.15 only if the track was smooth like all the other tracks they race. That is a not so smooth track and is really bad for F1 cars Btw you all say F1 reach 370kmh but in the video it was slipstreaming behind 919 Evo so its not 100% accurate in my opinion although it could be close

This track is far too long, but almost no place for overtakings. That last straight line is the most reasonable to overpass your oponnents
