Bringing tears to my eyes brother Bill, hello from northwest N.C. Praise the Lord, real people, just caught these videos, hope TH-cam really makes you some money, there’s plenty out there, be praying for you’all🤩🤩😍
I watched Bill's face closely during the entire vid. He has the most intense, searching gaze I've ever seen, along with the sweetest smile. He tells Jo that he loves her on the phone. If you see Bill please give him and adorable Jo greetings from Cathy from Florida. Bill and I are the same age.
I was born in Mena, Arkansas. My daddy worked in a sawmill. From what I understand, in those days you worked at a sawmill, chicken plant, or shirt factory. I was raised in Texas. Still have family in Arkansas. You’ll never find more genuine, proud, and God fearing people. Love it.
i live in fort smith, just a couple towns over from where he stays. Ive been following this man since the first video you made about him. Me and my grandpa love to drive by and see his place. good to see hes still doing well.
I've been all through fort Smith Arkansas and that place is depressing.the mountains and hills remind me of the hills have eyes the movie.where I'm from isn't the best place to live but just saying.
Yep. That's Scott County, Arkansas. My late grandma was from Scott County and her family has been there since about 1850, most of them lived in the Tomlinson area. It's extremely rural. Only about 40% of the people in Scott County live in the "cities" of Waldron and Mansfield. They ain't got much but they're a hell of a lot happier than most of us that are running the rat race.
I hafta admit I was a bit confused as to why you were making these videos at first. I used to live in Arkansas for about 10 years and with my buddy would often travel the back roads and come across people like Bill and befriended some too. At first I thought you was exploiting this man til I watched a few of your videos and realized you were sincere in showing a man and his lifestyle to people who could never see it first hand. So all I got to say is I think you've done a good job in doing so. Good luck to you, Bill and Jo and your future endeavors 😉
Much respect for Bill living off grid and being self-efficient. Not many people can live like he is living and being content at the same time. God bless you Bill if I'm ever in your area will stop by to chat with you.
"The oneness of humanity" was a perfect way to describe this. There are good people everywhere and many that could learn a thing or two from this man and his wife. Hope to see more updates on them in the future, you created an international star with your videos, well done. All my best to this fine couple, cheers from Vancouver, Canada
He reminds me so much of my grandpa, he lives exactly like him, and even has his Smoke House, too. It's strange because he's very well off, but you wouldn't ever think they by meeting him/seeing his house and clothes
That's cause they're real. If that makes them prosperous, so be it. But primary to them is being who they are--cause they're real. That's a good example to follow.
The funny part is this dude is living every day of his life on his terms while the rest of us sheep play the social game, that in the end means nothing.
Real talk right there, off-grid is rough, sure, but there's 0 stress from scummy people at work, no-one's gonna sue you for all your money.. All the toxic stuff majority of normal people deal with every single day, you only deal with like once or twice a year when living " 'off the land".. It's not for everybody obviously thought, it's really about what floats your boat, you can be urban and enjoy life too, but the way society is there's less and less of a chance of that happening.
@@CFlame20 Well lucky for this man he doesn't live anything like he's in a third world country. He lives in the real, real world. Glad you enjoy living as a sheep because your comment proves you're exactly that! But that's your choice.

Excellent presentation!✌️❤️Living in a rural township at 51 years old for the last 23 years I have friends , know people and families that grew up and live this way. That being said I also lived in downtown Toronto from age 15-30 drumming in punk rock bands, running a 24/7 boozecan for a motorcycle enthusiast group. We had patrons from every walk of life from last call to 7a.m. Lawyers, doctors, garbage men, postal workers, artists , actors, musicians, many celebrities, street people, lost souls, strippers, thugs, urban hillbillies. So much I learned from interacting with so many different people. I’ve seen things the average person will never experience except through fictional movies or series which can be entertaining . I have learned by personal experience, listening to friends and other real life interesting characters, formally educated or not, immigrants, Gypsies , millionaires, rockstars, farmers, entrepreneurs, technologists, artists, construction workers, drug dealers, Christians, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, agnostics, satanists, vegetarians, libertarians, conservatives and their stories and situations, the good, the bad, happy, fortunate, unfortunate, hardworking, lazy, hopeful, desperate. Having a 16 year old daughter and 6 year old son I can say I will be forever learning the new ways while passing on the importance of traditional values and the value of sharing and learning from history rather than erasing it because it offends someone. At the end of the day we’re all the same. ✌️❤️🇨🇦
I just turned 21 this year in 2021 and I bought a case of bush beer and my dad got kind of mad at me lol and I like to sit and have a beer with bill if I ever meet him in the future
Used to live right down the road from this man. Most people in that area are good people. That house at the 12:31 mark is actually the house right next to my step dads house. The people that lived there were WEIRD. We were glad when they left. This an awesome video sir.
Hey thanks for chiming in! That's so cool you lived nearby. If you ever find out what happened to the weird people, let me know. Maybe they'd make an interesting interview. Haha.
@@ThePeriphery yeah, I have no clue what they did. Our family didn't care to know them too much as they kinda creeped us out. Well, their son anyway. To put into context, the dude was just standing at the end of our driveway at about 11 at night. Didn't know what he was doing.. didn't know who it was at first. I confronted him and that was that. By the way, that cemetery that you go through past the high-school going back into town, is the only cemetery in the world with a highway going through it. Kinda neat. Its the little things that make that area so interesting.
@@ThePeriphery also, there was a famous baseball player from that area. There's actually a dirt road named after the player. His name is Dizzy Dean. I believe he played for the St. Louis Cardinals. Some say there's an old sandlot-like baseball park somewhere out there. Me personally, I doubt there is. If there was, it'd be hard to find. That house across from the high-school with the Golden horse looking thing there, is Jackie Martins family. He was a world champion horse racer. There's more than meets the eye with some of these small towns man. Im telling ya.
@@ThePeriphery in fact Jackie Davy Martin is one of the greatest quarter horse jockeys in history. He compiled almost 3000 wins in his career. Pretty incredible man. He died in 2015.

I live in Southeastern Ohio, and there are people like Bill in all 3 places. I respect them all, and hope America never loses this part of its' Culture. Keep fighting the good fight, brother!
Yeah I actually grew up in the South East and people like Bill use to be everywhere till like the 90s. I think they aren't part of the suburb and strip mall plan...
I just found this today & oh my goodness I adore Bill & Jo! Thank you for finding them! It is so refreshing to see such amazing, humble & genuine salt of the earth folks! This is rural America that the media won’t show you! I’d love to sit and chat a while with them! Much love from Southwest Arkansas! ❤️
Hi Bill & Jo! From Vancouver Island, BC Canada🇨🇦❤ was in Ash Flat AR last year and loved it!!

Thank you so much, Jasmin:) Speaking of courage, thank you for sharing your music.
@@ThePeriphery aww thanks thats so sweet! keep on doing what you do x
Salute to Bill!! What a wonderful man! The simple life is the best life.
such a kind hearted dude...may Allah grant him Paradise.
Bill's authenticity for me was so evident in two very short moments in the video, 1) while on the phone in the car ride he told Jo he loved her and 2) when he gave her the cherry from his Sonic shake
Damn good man gotta love bill so down to earth does he a cash app send him a few dollars sense I cant make it to have a beer with him thanks bill for being you and no one but you...
That's a good idea. I'll ask him and Jo about accepting donations that way. You're not the first to ask.
Bill has Facebook. So I am trying to set him up to receive donations through Facebook Messenger.
What does he go by on Facebook?
The Periphery let us know would you?
@@ThePeriphery Keep us posted
Long live to Bill and his wife!!!!!
“Still can’t hardly answer my phone” haha! Me too, Bill! Me too!

LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!! Love sent from Vermont; Looking forward to the next chapter!!! A lot of "hicks" here as well; although we native Vermonter's do not get road rage when a John Deere is on the road; nor do we mind the cow crossings!!! True Blue!!! Thank You so much for sharing this!!!
This country needs more True Blue:) Thanks, Dawn.

He's lovely. Has his own way of living but not stereotype. Seems peaceful. Not racist. just regular.

“You got a cigarette??.. what?? ... u got a cigarette?? .. haha she said u got a cigarette”
Much respect To Bill
He has the prettiest eyes 💕
I lived on. a dirt road as a kid. Our neighbor was a guy who had built his own house and lived without electricity. We knew a lot of guys like this. Honestly it never struck me as a big thing until seeing how people respond t this video
This was great to see! Thank you for sharing part 3 of this story. It is crazy to think how if you hadn't stopped to talk to Bill and Jo back in 2016 that this incredible friendship would never have happened. They are very welcoming and seem to be easy to talk to.
Yeah, life often hinges on small events.
@@ThePeriphery Absolutely! :)
Hello Happy new year 🎉
Truly inspiring. I'd love to spend a month at this guy's place and re-connect with the true nature of ourselves -- to survive and be content with only the natural things we need to survive -- shelter from the elements, self sustenance, love of others and love of fulfilling activities.
Hi Bill and Jo from Toronto Canada loved the video on you guys Merry Christmas from Canada
Hello Happy new year 🎉
awsome video, life out there is so different, so pure. Bill is happy with what he has unlike millions of other people that have it all and still are not satisfied. we have to thank god each and every day for being healthy and being able to have a plate of food on the table. i would give anything to spend a day out there with bill, ill definitely return back home with a different mind set.....god bless them both!!!, by the way im from New Jersey.......
Hello. Happy new year 🎉
WHAT REALLY STUCK WITH ME IS WHEN THE GIRLFRIEND SAID ASK HIM IF HE'S GOT A CIGARETTE 😔.....the United States Foreign aid includes some countries getting $5.,000.000.000.00 per year and other countries getting $3,000.000.000.00 per year but yet our own citizens are struggling to make it ....there's something wrong here .....this is our money ....yes we care about the world but our citizens come first and I'm sure we'll still have leftover to help the world 🌎 after we take care of our own ...the United States of America is for the people by the people .....and we're definitely not here to cater to foreign lobbyists at the expense of our own citizens. ...May God Bless Bill and Jo and May God Bless the United States of America 🇺🇸
What a wonderful old couple. Lots of love.
Hello. Happy new year 🎉
Excellent presentation!✌️❤️Living in a rural township at 51 years old for the last 23 years I have friends , know people and families that grew up and live this way.
Sounds like we're cut from the same cloth with our interest and love of humanity. Plus. I used to drum, too:) -Brandon
@@UARENOTTHATGUY Yeah, wow. You're exactly right. That is interesting.
Glad you no longer have such creepy neighbors:/
