Gimme Chocolate is Babymetal's famous or infamous song, depending on who you ask. It went viral in 2014 and brought a huge amount of international attention to Babymetal that opened a lot of door in the international metal scene. The original music video is actually the studio audio over the live performance at their Legend 1997 concert (December 21st 2013), which was the first live performance of the song. The second performance was at Legend MM in March 2024, so the two videos are just over ten years apart. I was in the pit at the 2024 performance. I've seen Gimme Choko live a bunch of times and it's always great fun! Babymetal is an experience unlike any other in music. Their combination of vocals, music, choreography, costumes, and stage designs are unlike anything else and is the result of 14 years of hard work honing their craft to reach the level they are at today. Japanese media companies are very strict with copyright on their videos because Japan doesn't recognize "fair use". When you're reacting to Japanese bands, but particularly Babymetal, you will need to pause often and you may even need to put a graphic over the video itself to trick the content ID system. Don't worry about the graphic covering the video, we've all seen the video a million times, we want to see your reaction to it. There is a channel called the "Babymetal Reactor's Resource" that has a lot their videos with a Babymetal logo already placed over them. It seems to be very random as to who gets hit by copyright and who doesn't.

Their official music videos or videos that come from their official channel are usually blocked, you can try live videos or videos uploaded by fan channels. Many people often use watermarks or logos on top to cover part of the videos.
Great reaction, thanks! "Gimme Chocolate" is "just" a fun song about the girls wanting to eat chocolate but being a little worried worried about their weight. But, yeah those instrumentals are very, very metal and the juxtaposition with the cute vocals, lyrics and choreo was totally the point of the song and the reason why this music video went viral back in 2014. Helping them a lot tbh. It's their most "popular" song but probably not their "best" one. But that doesn't stop it from being a blast when they play it live. They live performances are insanely good. Don't listen to those who never attended one of their shows. Actually, don't listen to me either, just see it for yourself. 😁 🤘🦊

@@dejzmi7089 Non pausing the video from time to time could be a reason (I believe this works for the audio). Some videos also requiere some filter, watermark, logo or something on top. We know that some specific shows are notoriously copyrighted like Legend-S from 2017 and most of the footage from 2015 to 2018. Their newest shows tend to be relatively "safe" PIA Arena (2023) and Legend-MM (2024). Sometimes the videos on their channel are safer too... sometimes not. But the general consensus is that pausing a couple of times during the video helps. Using fan-made compilation videos can be a solution but it's not ideal and not 100% safe. Sometimes it's the only solution. Finally, there is a channel called Babymetal reactor resource which has many videos from the three first albums listed on a spreadsheet. They have a version with a watermark and a clean one. Some people managed to watch the "clean" version while recording the watermarked. Sometimes, videos that we considered "safe" get hardcore copyright. You never know.

Rare you got that Karate MV and Budokan 2021 live blocked as well Road Of Resistance, although if you tried to upload all clips in the same reaction then that should be the problem, do not upload more than just two clips in one reaction, if possible always do it each one of them in different videos. Anyway i already left my suggestions list of safe clips to react in my previous comment, one of the cool things about BM is they always have something new and fresh to watch on different versions of the same song, well at least in most of them, especially on certain songs and fans favorites, so you're not gonna regret to watch Karate live at Download Festival 2016, plus It's usually safe to react. Nice one! I’m sorry Karate and Road of Resistance got blocked. TH-cam can be a crapshoot with that lol. The original Live MV you saw had studio audio over it, but was the original live debut in Dec 2013 when they were 16/14. It was Legend 1997, for Su’s 16th BDay. 10+ years later, they’re even better with the Mar 2024’s Legend MM performance, which was for Momoko’s 21st BDay. On copyrights: Thing’s I’ve seen other reactors do is obscure parts of the image with their video portal, or an opaque logo, and pausing to comment a reasonable amount. I’m sure other content creators can chime in here too, as I’m no expert. 🤘🦊
I was just discussing this!!! If I get into another video like that I’ll try to do graphic over it or pause it a lot to discuss it , I wanted to give it fair full listen but if there is work around I’ll definitely implement it!!
@@dejzmi7089 Nice, also, patreon, as others suggested, could be a good place for fully blocked videos. Many post their blocked vids for free or for super cheap tier. In addition, some reactors have disputed blocks and it’s been cleared. I think it’s a combination of algorithms/auto-block by TH-cam, and, for specific venues by Amuse or other entities involved. Key note: Pia Arena MM and Legend 1997 are fairly safe. Budokan 2014 is as well I believe. Budokan 2021 can get real tricky, and most other venues will see an instant block a lot of times. Legend MM is very new, and most seem to clear it, but not always. With all that said, Amuse seems to be much more lenient these days vs a few years back. From my experience the videos will mostly only be fully blocked for the visual content. It might say blocked for visual and audio, but whenever it happened to me I just obscured the video with some kind of overlay and it didn't get blocked again. Not the most beautiful solution, but it might be a way to save your blocked reactions ;)

PS Try 'DEATH' at this gig (Legend 97). It was the show closer with the Kami Band playing live and is one of the very best Metal concert endings by any band. But maybe just watch it without a reaction post...which is a shame as it's jaw dropping. 🦊🤘🤘🦊

That is so frustrating your other reactions were blocked ... if you put three videos in one reaction that may not have helped, but it looks like you have had some good advice on using a semi-transparent overlay or something over the videos and on where you can find videos that should be safe to use. 'Gimme Chocolate' was the video that went viral early in 2014 just before they set out on their first "world" tour. Mainly it was the shock value (the huge contrast between the brutal metal instrumentals and the sweet vocals) that grabbed everybody's attention, but this is great fun whenever they play it live and you wouldn't believe the mosh pits it starts. It is one of their fun songs. They just want some chocolate, but they're a bit worried about their weight. But chocolate! It would be so nice and they would be so happy. There is a channel and I can't figure the name baby metal reaction reactors or something and they have videos that have overlays and have been theoretically made safe for viewing. If I can find that I'll come back or hopefully somebody here in the know will give you that name or that TH-cam channel
Enjoy. They saved my musical soul a few years back. From there I found Band-Maid, Lovebites, Mary's Blood, Doll$boxx, Aldious and So many other great female bands and groups from Japan. That's when I realized hard rock and metal had not died. They just gotten a Visa and moved to Japan.
It amazes me that when I see them performing this song in 2024 the crowd still goes batsh*t crazy like this is the heaviest heavy metal song of all time. (because it is)
A suggestion. Trying to work out exactly why strikes happen is practically an impossible process a lot of the time, at least for many bands. Some channels create a Patreon account and link it from their TH-cam. Any reactions that are blocked they add to the Patreon instead. Then they just let people know in other TH-cam videos and the channel description that blocked reactions are on the Patreon. That way no reactions are wasted. These videos can be available for free to your audience, they don't need a paid Patreon subscription. A side benefit is it grows your Patreon free subscribers over time. So if you do ever add any paid Patreon subscription options later, say for specific reaction requests, whole album requests, even if the subscription is cheap like a few $ a month to get access to the reactions not on TH-cam, you have that option. If the channel never gets huge it might still be enough for an equipment upgrade etc. If the channel gets big, even only a few $ a month but from saying 500 people would still be quite a bit of cash. Plus everyone still gets the entertainment from your TH-cam reactions for free and you get to enjoy finding all the new music, and no one ever needs to give you money unless they can afford it, so everyone wins.
See if you can react to BxMxC (the live version), please. And, you're right, other reactors have found ways around the censorship. Maybe do a search for what methods those reactors are using.
Many members of The One will say that this song isn't among BABYMETAL's best - I beg to differ. Although BABYMETAL does have many songs that are better, this song defines what BABYMETAL is: heavy metal pleasantly mixed with J-pop without missing a beat - kawaii metal at its best, and one of the best videos of the "Yui Era". Ironically, the music video WAS a live performance but I admit its audio was studio dubbed. Sadly, I also gave you the link to the actual "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" live performance ( th-cam.com/video/p2nOy4i7pNo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y7uvurn_tM8zq7Mg ). What you have here is BABYMETAL doing a cover of "Yui Era" BABYMETAL. To be honest, I'm not impressed - the editing is wanting and the "pigeon-vision" is ridiculous. Perhaps I'm just old-fashioned, but I was under the impression that live videos were meant to make you feel like you are there - well, I don't recall ever flying around the venue at any concerts I've been to - at least, not physically! 🤪 Anyway . . . . BABYMETAL is notorious about having copyright issues. Let me begin by saying I am not a TH-cam reacter. I can only offer input based on what I have observed by watching YT reacters and a bit of common sense. First, clearly copyright issues occur because the copyright owners are concerned about two things: audio and visual theft. One can presume that if one somehow disrupts the presentation of both, then a copyright issue shouldn’t happen. My first suggestion regarding this is to simply pause the video two, three, or even four times during the course of the video, chit-chat for a few SECONDS then resume the video. But after each pause, rewind the video five or ten seconds (you may or may not know that if you tap your keyboard space bar once it will pause the video, another tap will resume play. Also, if you tap the left arrow key once, it will rewind the video five seconds (a second tap for another five seconds), and tapping the right arrow key will advance the video five seconds). This rewind also allows to one to regain the flow of the video. Another ploy I’ve seen used is a transparency, either over the video or make it so that the video itself is slightly transparent (but not too transparent otherwise there isn’t much point of showing the video at all). I’ve seen some reacters run an opaque bar through the middle of the video or crop the edges of the video a bit. I also get the impression that screen ratio may help deter copyright violations. That is to say, present the video in that it occupies only one sixth of the screen; or go full screen with the video but place yourself in one of the corners also at a one sixth ratio. Finally, after (don’t want any spoilers if you look before) doing a reaction to a certain video (and before editing and posting it), look for other reacters’ videos to the same video and see how they did it. Perhaps that might help. The bottom line is that it all comes down to post-production editing so as to disrupt the audio and video. And I have no doubt that editing is a pain. I only hope that you kept the original reaction videos that were blocked; you may still be able to salvage them and post them. I hope this helps but by no means consider it expert advice - I don’t KNOW jack about making YT videos. Last thing: I don't think the links are the problem; editing is the problem. On this subject, avoid compilation videos and fan-cams like the plague!!! Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. As a rule, fan-cam audio is totally useless and, more times than not, the video is all jumpy and jiggly. Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall . . . again!) KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
I am learning a lot!!! I always noticed graphics over other reactor videos and was wondering what that is about but now it all makes so much sense lol. I will try to pause little more specially if that will help with copyright !!! At least it can be visible and not completely blocked !!! That is great progress. To be honest I had no idea this was even possible until It happened but thats the part of this journey too. Learning all the technical things to do and not to do. This is the only problem with Babymetal reactions - getting strikes by Amuse, their company. No-one knows what their criteria are and I've seen every format tried to try and get a reaction out. They are the only band that do this so please don't risk your channel doing reactions. Enjoy them in private is easiest! It's a shame but Amuse ain't funny! Gimme chocolate is still the best Metal song about wanting chocolate though! They are really worth watching and exploring and as you saw in ROR, are epic and huge live, but sadly Amuse don't realise the benefits of reactions. Oh well, more Band-Maid it is then!
I tried also RATATATA and that one was also banned :( man I was so disappointed about the blocking viewership :( but awesome songs now that I got to listen to them.
Well they aren't the only band that does this and it isn't the band it is their copyright owners. But yes Amuse is especially aggressive about it. Some have had success in disputing the blocks.

Some channels create a Patreon account and link it from their TH-cam. Any reactions that are blocked they add to the Patreon instead. Then they just let people know in other TH-cam videos and the channel description that blocked reactions are on the Patreon. That way no reactions are wasted.
These videos can be available for free to your audience, they don't need a paid Patreon subscription.
A side benefit is it grows your Patreon free subscribers over time. So if you do ever add any paid Patreon subscription options later, say for specific reaction requests, whole album requests, even if the subscription is cheap like a few $ a month to get access to the reactions not on TH-cam, you have that option.
If the channel never gets huge it might still be enough for an equipment upgrade etc. If the channel gets big, even only a few $ a month but from saying 500 people would still be quite a bit of cash. Plus everyone still gets the entertainment from your TH-cam reactions for free and you get to enjoy finding all the new music, and no one ever needs to give you money unless they can afford it, so everyone wins.

Many members of The One will say that this song isn't among BABYMETAL's best - I beg to differ. Although BABYMETAL does have many songs that are better, this song defines what BABYMETAL is: heavy metal pleasantly mixed with J-pop without missing a beat - kawaii metal at its best, and one of the best videos of the "Yui Era".
Ironically, the music video WAS a live performance but I admit its audio was studio dubbed. Sadly, I also gave you the link to the actual "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" live performance ( th-cam.com/video/p2nOy4i7pNo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=y7uvurn_tM8zq7Mg ). What you have here is BABYMETAL doing a cover of "Yui Era" BABYMETAL. To be honest, I'm not impressed - the editing is wanting and the "pigeon-vision" is ridiculous. Perhaps I'm just old-fashioned, but I was under the impression that live videos were meant to make you feel like you are there - well, I don't recall ever flying around the venue at any concerts I've been to - at least, not physically! 🤪 Anyway . . . .
BABYMETAL is notorious about having copyright issues. Let me begin by saying I am not a TH-cam reacter. I can only offer input based on what I have observed by watching YT reacters and a bit of common sense. First, clearly copyright issues occur because the copyright owners are concerned about two things: audio and visual theft. One can presume that if one somehow disrupts the presentation of both, then a copyright issue shouldn’t happen.
My first suggestion regarding this is to simply pause the video two, three, or even four times during the course of the video, chit-chat for a few SECONDS then resume the video. But after each pause, rewind the video five or ten seconds (you may or may not know that if you tap your keyboard space bar once it will pause the video, another tap will resume play. Also, if you tap the left arrow key once, it will rewind the video five seconds (a second tap for another five seconds), and tapping the right arrow key will advance the video five seconds). This rewind also allows to one to regain the flow of the video.
Another ploy I’ve seen used is a transparency, either over the video or make it so that the video itself is slightly transparent (but not too transparent otherwise there isn’t much point of showing the video at all). I’ve seen some reacters run an opaque bar through the middle of the video or crop the edges of the video a bit. I also get the impression that screen ratio may help deter copyright violations. That is to say, present the video in that it occupies only one sixth of the screen; or go full screen with the video but place yourself in one of the corners also at a one sixth ratio.
Finally, after (don’t want any spoilers if you look before) doing a reaction to a certain video (and before editing and posting it), look for other reacters’ videos to the same video and see how they did it. Perhaps that might help.
The bottom line is that it all comes down to post-production editing so as to disrupt the audio and video. And I have no doubt that editing is a pain. I only hope that you kept the original reaction videos that were blocked; you may still be able to salvage them and post them.
I hope this helps but by no means consider it expert advice - I don’t KNOW jack about making YT videos.
Last thing: I don't think the links are the problem; editing is the problem. On this subject, avoid compilation videos and fan-cams like the plague!!! Compilation videos are, in my opinion, an insult to both the viewer and the band; the music is certainly overdubbed, and the changes in venue and costumes (sometimes even personnel) can be confusing if not completely annoying. You are not reacting to BABYMETAL, you are reacting to a highlight reel of BABYMETAL. As a rule, fan-cam audio is totally useless and, more times than not, the video is all jumpy and jiggly.

I am learning a lot!!! I always noticed graphics over other reactor videos and was wondering what that is about but now it all makes so much sense lol. I will try to pause little more specially if that will help with copyright !!! At least it can be visible and not completely blocked !!! That is great progress. To be honest I had no idea this was even possible until It happened but thats the part of this journey too. Learning all the technical things to do and not to do. I try to pick up the best quality video for the artist so it shows their full talent and I agree it's the right thing to do !!!No worries thank you so much for the advices !!!
This is the only problem with Babymetal reactions - getting strikes by Amuse, their company. No-one knows what their criteria are and I've seen every format tried to try and get a reaction out. They are the only band that do this so please don't risk your channel doing reactions. Enjoy them in private is easiest! It's a shame but Amuse ain't funny! Gimme chocolate is still the best Metal song about wanting chocolate though! They are really worth watching and exploring and as you saw in ROR, are epic and huge live, but sadly Amuse don't realise the benefits of reactions. Oh well, more Band-Maid it is then!
I tried also RATATATA and that one was also banned :( man I was so disappointed about the blocking viewership :( but awesome songs now that I got to listen to them.
Well they aren't the only band that does this and it isn't the band it is their copyright owners. But yes Amuse is especially aggressive about it. Some have had success in disputing the blocks.
