I replace pulleys all the time Can’t watch people get ripped off I buy the brging 30 at a time cheaper And there used by every mower manufacturer It only takes 30/40 minutes to rebuild it
@@thistlehillfarmstead9131I don’t watch tv at all, been 35 years since I watched any tv or anything else Just work , farming and tad of hunting Got all the equipment and trying to ware it all out lolol
Another thing, when that bearing goes bad, it's much cheaper to replace the 2nd bearing, and more. I've done that many times, it makes changing the next ones faster, easier, and cheaper. I use 6203 bearings, buy a 10 pack less than $2 each. Fit most spindle and idler pulleys.
JD saying is you have to buy from Us. May saying is I will prove you wrong.😂
thanks for all the videos not much on deere 900s you work alot like I do on engineering
Thanks 👍
I do this all the time, I remove them from old decks and rebuild them and paint them, resale at half price of new ones
Do you have a website where I can order them? I need a new set for the deck of my z920a.
@@BlkHunterGathererI’m sorry but I only have enough for my local customers
Drill four 1/8 holes on top lip for it to drain water out 😊

Sounds like you have it down to a science. This was my first time so I'm sure I did some things the hard way, but I got it done.
@@thistlehillfarmstead9131yes Sir I try to do 10/15 at a time
Once you get rigged up it’s like replacing lining on brake shoes with ribits
Bead blast the pulleys, one set at a time or wire them together to speed it up
I just turned the washer over
I do this just because it pisses me off they try to force you to buy a new pulley at a extreme price
Yes... hahaha, but after the fact I spent more time thanks it was worth. Next time I will probably just buy the thing.

would you do it yourself again next time or just wait for the new pulley?
I would be interested in the time and expense to do this. All the drilling, cleaning, new nuts and bolts, the cleaners etc etc. Is it worth it?
I have been using the pulley for two seasons now with no trouble. I think it was worth the time and effort if you have the tools to do it.

You should have painted the inner sides as well
maybe so. That would have prevented rust. Thanks
We have flat idler pulley that may fit your lawn tractor. We can provide it for free. Do you need?
U might try pop rivet's
Only steel would hold up but I don’t trust them with a 65 dollar belt 😊
There’s no way I would pay 90 bucks for a simple pulley
Fix it ASAP
I know. John Deere parts are sometimes way over priced.
@@thistlehillfarmstead9131Your modified pulley is worth "A million bucks"😊
What is amazing is that nobody knows how to use a hand file or small hacksaw for more precision cutting anymore......just saying.
Cheaper to just purchase new one then do all that 4 sho. I guarantee 🤷🏻♂️
for sure if you don't have the time an patience to fiddle with it
