I had to swap the ac relay with the horn relay to make the compressor spin. Once the compressor is spinning just like it has to, I connected a refrigerant with gauge refill can (I got it at autoparts store). It showed low level of refrigerant, so I just refilled it. It worked. Make sure the compressor is running (no ac light blinking) before reading refrigerant level. Thanks for the video.
9 times out of 10 times it's low refrigerate. When you check the pressure on your ac compressor and its short cycling make sure you check when your compressor is on! When it shuts off it'll go into the red and when it kicks back on is when you need to check the pressure
My cars compressor doesn’t stay on long enough for me to check pressure, it shows red when I connect it and the compressor clicks on for 2 seconds max and stops does it repetitively. But I do notice gauge start to climb back but I can’t tell cause it doesint stay on long enough
The video was good, but actually this comment was the one who helped me solve my problem, my ac was reading up to the red zone and dropping down, and I didn't know if it was overcharged or needed gas, after reading this I checked again and when the ac kicked in that's when the pressure was dropping. Thanks dude. I put gas and My AC now is good thanks to you!
@@joshuabarr6511 So how do I fix this? Same is happening to mine. If I start adding Freon, in theory, it should stop short cycling every second or 2 when I hit the pressure threshold the PCM is looking for? I have to assume the Freon is low, not high. It worked fine the last few years and no Freon has been added in the last 6 years for sure

My 2005 Tahoe AC has worked flawlessly in the three years I have had it. I had a reputable oil service change done a week ago and they said the AC system needs work. I said my AC is ice cold. I used the AC three times since then and had cold AC. Now, the compressor clicks on and off. Do you think they did something to make it fail, to make work?

My issue is that my ac compressor keeps coming on even with the switch off and I don’t have the setting on defroster it’s a dodge Ram 1500 any advice on what could it be?
Same situation here this afternoon. I just noticed while flushing the antifreeze. I have the controls at high heat settings and hearing the AC clutch engaging. AC hose was dripping condensate and i was thinking a heater hose sprung a leak. Hoping I figure it out and will update my comment.
I checked. I even drained it all out until the compressor stopped running and then added some back. It still cycles on and off. We'll see what happens when it's actually hot outside.
Any ideas why my compressors is cycling off and on with the heater in instead . I did loose have my antifreeze and can't track down the leak but see the ac compressor kicking off and on every 5 seconds , and I have good AC

Thanks for the video. Very informative. Should the low pressure line be ice cold to the touch? And if it's only cool does that mean low refrigerant? Thanks.
I have issues with my car ac when I do acceleration more then 80 km/h the AC line becoming hot and never cooling unless a press off and on again it's start work when I stop the fans is running but it's low side is to hot I don't know what's wrong what the ac
Got a car that sat up for years. Went to add refrigerant and compressor would cut on for a few seconds and back off. The gauge would read over full and slowly drop until the compressor cut off and would rise again. If I let pressure out of the low end, the compressor wouldn't move at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
At first your system was low but enough to keep the compressor engaged intermittently. Now that you remove the little refrigerant it had, the compressor won't engage at all. You simply need to refill it at the right amount. You can find that information online on under your car's hood, in the AC specifications section. Do not overfill the system, this will cause issues similar to not having enough refrigerant.
