I came to say the exact same thing. People only see that Baker had a career year and think that was all Canales. Our offense last year was very basic and predictable. Every running play was a zone read with no push from our interior line. We hardly ever had any RB screens and when they did it was very successful. I saw the same thing through-out the entire season with little to no adjustments made, showing signs of a bad coach. Just watching preseason I can already tell Cohen is going to improve this offensive. I’m also excited to hear Cohen is putting Godwin back in slot where he balled out with Brady.

You obviously didn't watch ridder play last season...the dude had three fumbles inside bucs 1 yl otherwise falcons could've scored extra 21 pt and the falcons still beat the bucs in that game 😂...in the home loss falcons again gave the game away on ridder turnovers while outgaining them 434-290 and with the kicker missing several fg he makes 95% of the time...cousins will play in far tougher offense to defend coached by rams assistant and he will have london, robinson, pitts, mooney and mcleod to throw to many times all on the same play! He's got pff 4th rated ol and should have a punishing ground game that will take advantage of all the slack the receiving threats will draw. And don't sleep on falcons defense that was top five early last season but wilted under key injuries and being on field too often due again to the incompetency of ridder. Not only did the Falcons win 7 games last season with a horrible QB, but there were like 4 or 5 games that they were on the cusp of winning until the last second where an interception or fumble or something else stupid happened to ultimately blow the game. Cousins has literally made a career out of defeating and excelling against sub .500 teams and here he is qb with falcons against the league's easiest schedule. You have to look at fact that falcons lost 3-5 games last year directly related to lousy qb play that won't be a factor this season with one of those losses coming to bucs which prevented falcons from sweeping the two meetings. Also the falcons vastly bolstered the defense which now has far more depth at edge, dt and has a young secondary that should be improved including new safety addition to league best bates. Bucs have won 3 straight div titles but big deal as two of those were with brady who is long gone-rest of this bucs team is back and a lot of similarities lie with last year's playoff team and they may make playoffs as wild card team but overall I see mayfield as inconsistent and perhaps due for regression off big contract, and evans similarly as he's 32 now and maybe a step slower. Not real high on bucs pass rush and without that team is going to struggle against better passing attacks-furthermore offense will be more dependent on inconsistent year to year mayfield. I will take what I feel is the better offensive team the falcons to win this division.

You obviously didn't watch ridder play last season...the dude had three fumbles inside bucs 1 yl otherwise falcons could've scored extra 21 pt and the falcons still beat the bucs in that game 😂...in the home loss falcons again gave the game away on ridder turnovers while outgaining them 434-290 and with the kicker missing several fg he makes 95% of the time...cousins will play in far tougher offense to defend coached by rams assistant and he will have london, robinson, pitts, mooney and mcleod to throw to many times all on the same play! He's got pff 4th rated ol and should have a punishing ground game that will take advantage of all the slack the receiving threats will draw. And don't sleep on falcons defense that was top five early last season but wilted under key injuries and being on field too often due again to the incompetency of ridder. Given the ease of falcons schedule five extra victories wouldn't surprise me at all but i'm sticking with a 10-7 record prediction.

You got to keep bringing up Dave Canales. He was not our quarterback coach . His office was very predictable. We still couldn't run the ball. Dave had no prior experience on calling planes or being an coordinator since high school. He's a motivator and a very positive coach. Not only did the Falcons win 7 games last season with a horrible QB, but there were like 4 or 5 games that they were on the cusp of winning until the last second where an interception or fumble or something else stupid happened to ultimately blow the game. If ATL had Cousins last year they would have EASILY taken the division by several games.
Not entirely true since both the Bucs and Saints lost some close call games too. For the Bucs im thinking the Texans, the Falcons and the Bills. The Saints im thinking the Jaguars. But there are more than these. Its just off the top of my head

Cousins has literally made a career out of defeating and excelling against sub .500 teams and here he is qb with falcons against the league's easiest schedule. You have to look at fact that falcons lost 3-5 games last year directly related to lousy qb play that won't be a factor this season with one of those losses coming to bucs which prevented falcons from sweeping the two meetings. Also the falcons vastly bolstered the defense which now has far more depth at edge, dt and has a young secondary that should be improved including new safety addition to league best bates. Bucs have won 3 straight div titles but big deal as two of those were with brady who is long gone-rest of this bucs team is back and a lot of similarities lie with last year's playoff team and they may make playoffs as wild card team but overall I see mayfield as inconsistent and perhaps due for regression off big contract, and evans similarly as he's 32 now and maybe a step slower. Not real high on bucs pass rush and without that team is going to struggle against better passing attacks-furthermore offense will be more dependent on inconsistent year to year mayfield. I will take what I feel is the better offensive team the falcons to win this division.

I love the Saints, fan since Kilmer & Manning. I despise the Falcons. Mayfield is on the up and the Panthers will be better. Dennis Allen is horrible and out OL is extremely suspect. Saints finish at 7-10 and Allen is done.
