Love your videos! We are thinking of moving to Portland from CA/Hawaii. Still wary about weather, but the cost of living/home prices is pretty incredible. We will be visiting this winter, to get a feel of what it’s like when it’s cold😬
You can describe the weather any way you want but numbers don't lie - 220 days overcast. 155 days measurable precipitation. Portland is still an awesome place to live but just being real about the weather.
FYI: James Beard was from Portland. eating seasonal foods when they are at their freshest was his idea as in the four seasons restaurant in New York City was his idea. Powell’s Books is not a “library” but a bookstore. i’ve lived here all of my life and right now with this pandemic and people walking around with facemasks on, people are not friendly they don’t even make eye contact with you because they’re afraid of catching the virus somehow. Now if you walk into a restaurant and you’re wearing a face mask and then sit down and takeoff your face mask then people are friendly. You figure! here’s the big thing though, Portland is under economic attack. Shops and malls are closing right and left like the Lloyd center. There seem to be may be 10,000 homeless drug addled individuals living in tents and in squalor all over the city even in the Pearl District and just west of it under the 405 freeway. There, the homeless are treated like rats. The other night I walked through there and they had a strobe light that could be seen for blocks to psychologically ‘persuade’ the homeless to go someplace else. Ironically there was a dog hotel right next door to one of the largest encampments that I had seen in the city. You can see the dogs in The window with their fourth floor views and high ceilings. oh the irony. I also love how the state office building near the Lloyd center has a flag pole on top with the American flag and right under it the prisoner of war flag. Oh so fitting Somehow in what was once America’s most livable city.
Lived & worked in Portland & the surrounding area for years, I do NOT miss dealing with the rush hour traffic and people who do not know how to drive on ice & snow covered roads on the rare occasions the 'weather gods' give the area some.
Love these videos but would love even more videos about all the unique neighborhoods! Keep up the good work!
Very informative. Love your content man!
Do you only help buyers? Or do you include renters as well?
Wow I like the Urban Growth Boundry policy. Love it. Really care about the trees man lol
UGB is great!
Agree on the paper straw thing.

Very helpful. We are deciding between Portland, Seattle, Manhattan, or San Francisco. It’s a tough choice!!
I'm deciding between Portland, Seattle, Manhattan, Boston, Los angeles lol.
Thats a wide range!
In other words, it rains often, but we don't get the hard pounding rains or severe thunderstorms that other parts of the country get.
theres one in Phoenix
Could not understand what mall you said the Vietnamese place was in. Wanted to check it out with the misses.

You get more rain in san diego does lot more
I didn’t like and subscribe to your video until you said you weren’t down with the paper straws. I’m on the same page with you my friend.
The worst ugh....
Just sold my 500sq foot home in LA for 2M. What can I get in PDX for that?
I live here and hate it
I get mix reviews on #5 it's either really nice people or worse than New Yorkers
Seattle is NOT on the coast… please look at a map man. Not that much more rain either. Please strive for accuracy and not simply to sell Portland.
Lots of homeless people in Oregon
Lot of homeless everywhere, LA where I’m at in Phoenix, and Chicago. Depends where you’re from if it’s better or worse
Why does any able bodied person need a straw?
Haha same
