Its just personal preference i guess. They had to replace the 899 with the 959 due to the euro4 emission standards. There are pros and cons speaking for both bikes. 959 has a little bit more power and less fuel consumption but the 899 just has the better sound and is a little bit cheaper :D Changes are not that serious tho, its just that i drove the 899 for 2 years and really enjoyed it^^ The 959 should be a good choice too though :) Why did you choose for the panigale overall tho?
The Ducati 959 Panigale is faster than the Triumph Daytona 675R. I also find it to be more attractive than the Daytona. The 959 has more electronics than the Daytona, but the 959 lacks a fuel gauge. I'm not sure about comfort though. I rode on the regular Daytona 675, and it was the most uncomfortable bike I've ever tested. I'd like to test ride the 959 Panigale. That new 2017 Yamaha R6 looks super sexy too, but I'm not so sure if I'd want to get another Japanese sport bike.
