Thanks for making this video! It’s exactly what I need to help find whatever has been rattling in my dash and driving me nuts for months!!

@@DaniloEvn there is a small sensor held by a metal tab that needed to be bent a little more to hold it securely.

dude thank you i recently had a noise coming from my dashboard and took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't fix it. Bull$hit!!! took me 1 hours. thanks

what was causing the noise, I looked at a 2013 prius and it was making noise on the right side of the dash board over bumps. They said it was just plastic loosening with age and I didnt buy the car.

@@stevestack6173 that's a different model but mine was the sunlight detector in the front of the dash it had loose mounts that made it raddle. So I added some fluff and tied it down tight. No more noise.

@@GamerForLife650 Thank you much..The dealer just said it was plastics and the rattling would decrease when it warms hmmm

Thank you very much for this. You're the first one to present this on TH-cam for the 2016-2017-2018 Toyota Prius models.

Thanks for the video! It was a big help. The clips on the side curtain air bags were a bit fiddly. I found it a bit easier to detach the clips at the car frame end. There are two diametrically opposed, spring-loaded sliders that must be pressed in to release. I used 2 small screwdrivers

I'm currently in the market for the same model. Test drove one and had some rattle noise in the dashboard. They guy literally pointed it out. I said if you guys can take care of that I will consider purchasing it
Then later calls me and said they can't reproduce the sound 😒. Dude said he didn't hear it after hearing it first hand, smh.

Thank you for your informative video. I have a Prius S, 2016 which I imported from Japan to UK. The dashboard cluster has been converted into English and also the odometer converted from KM/H to MPH. This was done by removing the cluster. The problem now is converting the stereo system from Japanese to English. The stereo system model number is NSZT-W64. Much appreciated if you could give me any idea on how to set the stereo in English.

Almost identical process for the Prius Prime 2020. Mine has 2 gray cables instead of one.

Guessing maybe one should disconnect the battery, or is it necessary? Could you pinch the opposite end of the clip on the a pillar and remove the clip from the chassis?

    • @magice03
      @magice03 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That is how you are supposed to remove the trim piece. The actual clip is held on by two tabs, press the tabs to release the clip from the chassis. Look up a video on pillar trim removal on a corolla, it shows you how to remove the clip from the chassis.

Would this be the same process to replace the servo motor aka (air blender)? Or can the servo motor be replaced by just removing the radio? Thank you,

Thanks for the video, which enabled me to remove the dash and fix a vibration noise BUT... can anyone help out with the name of a clip and where to buy it pls? Right at the very beginning of the video, removing the first Prius part, a long grey/white strip/trim/panel, you have to turn the clip around to remove the strip, (at the top) I got it off but damaged the clip a bit and need to replace it but the Internet doesn't know what I'm looking for when I search.
    Prius 2016/2017.
    Thanks.

@@SuperCMTR It was internal parts of the inner dash vibrating rather than anything loose like the screw. Secured all with sticky pads. Seems OK now thanks.
