I've lived in various states across the east coast of America and have always heard "turtle heading" as well. To contribute further to this conversation, we also say "pinching off" instead of "clean pinch."
I love this podcast so much because I can relate to Daniel a lot in the sense that my upbringing seems similar to his, and Yuuki reminds me of so many of my friends growing up who were my "straight-men" -- Also as someone from North Carolina, the slang used in todays episode are all used daily for me. I have found, especially in the southern states, every single thing has its own slang word/phrase. Most of the time it is just a super short version of the word like "you all" and "y'all" Edit: I have heard ghost wipe called phantom wipe, and prairie dogging is also called turtling like a turtle head coming out of the shell. I personally have not had egyptian goggles, but I have heard it referred to as "goggling" like putting goggles on someone, but also teabagging is one used for the same thing

Most American slang comes from black culture in America. It then enters rap/hip-hop music and spreads to the younger population that starts using it and further popularizing it into the mainstream.
I love this podcast but I can never recommend it to people because of the amount of shimonetas 😭😭 but it really helps with my nihongo so I'll be here every week!!

In east coast we call Prairie Dogging "Ground Hogging" instead, for similar reasons
