- Step back in time to the Oklahoma Land Rush! Maybe I’ve watched too many westerns like 1883 but its reinvigorated my childhood love of pioneers, cowboy camping, and covered wagons. Combine that with my interest in bushcraft, building survival shelters and boom this channel is born. I hope to honor our forefathers and better understand their lives and struggles through living history and a bit of experimental archeology. Please like and subscribe to follow along in the adventures.
In this episode I’m a Sooner waiting for the land rush to begin so I can claim my free land. During the Oklahoma land rush thousands of people lined up and at the sound of a shot raced each other to find good land to stake their claim. Some people, “Sooners” cheated and camped out on the land they wanted to grab ahead of time.
Thank you for checking out my brand new TH-cam channel!
I’ve got a lot of exciting videos planned for my pioneer homestead and

What a great start to this journey! It's really interesting getting to see that wagon filled with all those antiques. This was a fun watch!
I appreciate that, thank you so much!
Awesome video. I too am fascinated how our forefathers lived a few 100 years back. Thanks for the great content.

That is a beautiful covered wagon.
Thank you, I restored it myself.
@@WesternPioneerYou did an amazing job on it. Lovely colours on it.
@@CWF-ez5ru That means a lot to me thank you.
@@WesternPioneer Are the bows made of wood?
@@CWF-ez5ru Yes they are. And they're a lot stronger than I imagined they would be.

Hello Cowboy. I just discovered your channel and started watching it right from the first video. You have a great style, I love it. I hope you continue for a long time. I will share it with my friends to support you. By the way, I fell in love with all the tools you used. I wish them continued success. Loves from Turkey. : )
Thank you! Yeah the tools are one of my favorite parts.
muito bom seus filmes. É um ótimo tema.
I just subscribed. Looks like you have a fun journey ahead. A lot of hard work but it will be worth it.
Thanks for sharing
Hell yeah
❤
What buildings will the homestead have ? Great video
Great question! Right now I'm thinking I'll have a sod house, a workshop that I can put my wagon inside of if there's a bad storm, and an ice house to store ice I've collected in the winter all year round.
I was surprised you did not have a "cowboy bed roll" oil skin and a blanket instead of the two blankets. an oilskin would keep your body off the ground. yes I agree they are not cheap to buy.
Yeah I really wanted one and it would have been great to show for historical accuracy but yeah I couldn't find one cheap enough.
love it from west germany ! =) rune malte bertram nielsen who ? :D ;) keep up the good stuff buddy !
Thanks! Will do!
I always wanted to live like a cowboy, just one question, where's your horses?? I mean that's definitely part of the cowboy experience right?
I'll be able to afford them one day.
👍🔥
Subscribed - but where’s your horse?
But all jokes aside, I can’t wait to watch this channel take off sky-high! Good work.
I sent my horse to go get me whisky but it's been a while so I think he ran off with my money. Thank you! If the channel does take off I think it's only proper that I buy a horse, the channel needs one!
