Oh my goodness Asha I’m so happy to hear your video! I was worried something went wrong when I didn’t see any videos. My 2004 Forrester turbo is running well. I drove it over Thanksgiving. I hope for you that you realize that you’re a hero too many who watch your videos
Oww, thank you so much - your comment means SO SO much to me... thank you. To be honest - I had no time to edit my videos, that is why I am posting them with delay. And also for safety. But I am catching up - have a lot of footage to go through. So glad to read your car us running well and that had a chance to drive it recently. Enjoy it, and happy December!
Yay, the hot springs! I was there for 2 nights in September, and loved it. It was close to freezing each night, so the warm bath first thing was really welcome.
This is one of the best spots on the Alaska Highway, right? Was it super crowded in September? I was there in early July and it was difficult to get a camping spot.
@ I was there on a weekend, and it was full! Line ups in the morning for the hot springs, as well. I booked a site in advance, and I actually met my parents there! They were lucky to get their own site, but we could have shared.
Thank you - glad you enjoyed my video. I saw many travelers with trailers. I will post a video with my tips and thoughts about Alaska Highway soon - you may find it useful :)
Hi Asha, Thank you for the video, was looking for it. It was fun watching it. Question for you, if I may ask, next year is my turn to travel that route, I don't wanna go in summer to avoid mosquitos and over crowding. If I wanna be as close to winter, yet avoid nasty winter weather, are there months you can recommend? September, October, November? I don't like too much rain either :) Also, I was checking the weather and looks like areas in above video have a lot of snow currently, so December does not seem suitable. Anyways, appreciate if you have a thought there. Another topic, do you think some type of thermal camera would be helpful (from safety perspective) given all the wildlife around, would you have found it useful? Am I over thinking this? Cheers!
Hi, unfortunately the window to travel up north to Alaska is really short - seasons in Canada and Alaska change really fast, there is barely any fall. That is why all campgrounds and private RV parks, also small gas stations along the way, close early to mid-September. In October there is already first snow in Yukon, which is really remote and if you get caught up in a snowstorm you can get stranded for hours, if not days. Alaska in September slowly starts getting gloomy and cold, less lively. So I would not recommend driving up in fall or winter. The best time to do it is in summer, maybe spring when days are really long, nature is in full swing and gas stations are open. I really think you have to be extremely experienced and well prepared and equipped to drive the Alaska Highway off-season. Per thermal camera - unfortunately I don't feel I'm qualified to answer this question. I don't use it but I have a ton of experience in camping alone in places with wild animals. Good luck with your preparations! I'll be posting a video with my tips on driving the Alcan soon - you may find it helpful.
@@ashaslaw Thank you very much for your reply and my apologies for putting you through this with my questions :). I found your answers really helpful, I clearly am not doing the correct research as I was totally unaware that gas/gas station would be a problem September and onward. BTW, Canada highways have pretty robust camera system that you can check to see live road conditions. I am sure you are aware of this, but sharing just in case. ----------- On a different note, in future, may be sometime next year, do u think you can provide consulting, for a fee of course? I think your knowledge is invaluable. Thanks again,

Those hot springs looked very relaxing in that cold weather.
This hot spring was my favorite spot on the Alaska Highway.
@ Amazing scenery and a sulfur bath sounds like good times.

Alaska is serious business; it's not like the lower 48.
@@valeskavictoria1278 Thanks, If you can provide some actionable info that would be helpful, would be great. Cheers!

What’s the story behind the sign forest you visited ?
shorts are not allowed in alaska
haha, I honestly think that was the only day when I was wearing shorts during this road trip.
