Here's a tip I was taught by a guy who had a Hileberg. He was in UK frozen ground. Your tent peg idea is good. But what he did was pour water on ground around tent peg after. Peg freezes in ground and if you have high winds that peg is NOT moving in the wind.
Yeah love winter overnight adventures. BTW my 4 year old daughter (she wasnt on this world since i subscribed you hehe) lost my thrunite i won as a giveaway from you. But i will search the whole house up and down to get it back! Hows luckybear and your lovely daugter doing would love to see at least luckybear on a video. Greets
Can you please tell me what inexpensive 1-2 person tents you actually would recommend for summer camping. Or are all the cheaper ones shit? I just can’t justify $300. Anything around $100 that’s actually good?
Funny you said how that skunk smelled kind of good. Around the year 2000 I had major surgery on my head. The first sign I had problems was a complete loss of smell. I had stuff growing in my sinus and front part of brain that didn’t belong there. After about 10 days in the hospital and after I got home. I walked outside to the smell of a skunk. Let me tell you, that was the sweetest smell I’ve ever smelled. After a few years of no sense of smell I will never forgot how great it is to smell, even if it’s a skunk. 🦨 Thanks Brother
I love this. I spent my entire childhood camping and backpacking without a waterproof tent. Frozen nights and wet mornings were common and I learned that no gear review can account for good company.
If you Google search "Klymit Maxfield 2 tent" 2 of the videos listed on the first Google search page is yours Luke. You always thoroughly test products for months to give a unbiased, accurate and honest review. The Maxfield 2 does look like a true 2 person tent with plenty of room for 2 and a palace for 1 with a nice size vestibule is a massive bonus. It held off rain very well and demonstrated it does not condensate in those lower temps inside which is incredible. Great review Luke and as always looking forward to the next. Cheers!
You should link your reviews in the info for your newer subscribers so we can see that video as well. It’s hard to actually find the matching videos because your library is so large! Thanks for the content!
Great video as always,I love it when you camp out in rain and snow storms,I guess its because it reminds me of being all snug in the tent when its storming outside,Thanks.
Last week I was watching the news & they showed the national weather radar. There was a shitload of rain clouds moving up the East coast, particularly heading through the Carolinas & Virginia. I smiled to myself & said “I betcha anything ol’ Lone Wolf Luke is headed out to test a tent tonight...” 🙂
Fell in love with it when I first saw this tent on your channel and put the cart before the horse. I found it for 248.00 on Amazon so I snapped it up. I agree with you about the lines, planning on using something like Z line and making my own. Being able to use the fly poles and footprint without the tent itself is a bonus on those warmer days when you aren't bothered about creepy crawlies.
Thank you for the tip on tent stakes. My husband ALWAYS steps on them & I'm getting tired of replacing the ones he has bent or snapped when we camp in the mountains.
I use freestanding tent made by Vango Mirage 2 person,, as you can leave the fly on it and the poles go into the channels built into the fly. It can be put up in the rain and keeps the inside dry. It has a stuff sack when when packed up, you must shove it in the bag....no folding and struggling to get back into the bag. The tent is rated as a 3 seasons tent, in the UK but good for in the tree line winter camping.
Very informative I absolutely love the rain especially when camping out.... nice to see there are other like minded people who don't think its weird to like natures elements that most people tend to avoid.... keep them coming dude!!!!!
I have been looking forward to this test night ever since you previewed this a few months ago. I'm happy to see it performed well.👍👍 Great vid as always!!
I like the tents parameters. Roomy. Practice putting tent up with eyes close. Really pays off when you have to put tent up in dark. Always be able to reassemble your handgun in the dark. Arne Michigan
Hey Luke I love your reveiews, and glad you have a friend that is tall like me. I have spent a ton of money on gear such as sleeping bags air mats and tents. So I am 6.5 so us tall people have a hard time buying the right gear. So I hope you continue to say either it's for a 6.5 guy or not lol. Keep up the great videos and thank you so much.
Heyup Luke..love your channel. Now,i've a klymit insulated mat. Now i am certain they forgot to put any insulation in my mat! I can hold the deflated mat up to a bright light and it becomes translucent. I.E. No visible insulation and it's always been a cold mat too. Keep up your great work and hello from Britain👍
Hi Luke from the UK, that looks a brilliant piece of kit it wouldn't take much to alter the minor faults apart from that I couldn't see any other faults excellent review thanks for sharing
+45F or +7.2c, must be nice to have winters that warm! -28c tonight here. Sucks to be here. That does look like a very nice tent, I like larger tents. The price is a bit up there, but if it's of superb quality, it may be worth it. Cheers from Winnipeg.
Awesome review! I’m shocked that you didn’t get any condensation buildup considering how closed in the tent appears. My wife and I use a Z-Packs Triplex and have been very impressed. But then again, we’ve never had it in rain that hard either...
Another great video....a very impressive piece of gear it seems. Thank you for all of your time and efforts sharing these videos with us. So useful when it comes to shopping for good gear for ourselves.
Hello Luke, thank you for sharing, awesome looking tent, plenty of room. Have a wonderful week ahead, take care and God bless you and your Family always. 🇺🇸🔥☕️🎄🌬☃
I'm also one of those people who are torn on the smell of a skunk. To me, it stinks but then ehh its kinda an aromatic that would never happen in LA or NYC. So i just smile and go on.
A tent to consider buying and testing out is the Alasksn Outfitters tent by Cabelas. I have the 8 man it's almost bomb proof. for a 4 season tent to have proper ventilation. Are vents required to be at the top?? I will said in the summer time its extremely warm in direct sunlight.
Set up in the dark? I've been to football games that had fewer lights than that 😂 looking forward to the winter overnight adventures this year, Merry Christmas to you and your family Luke 👍
Smell of a skunk has never bothered me. Every time l found a skunk smashed in the road I would stop my motorcycle right over it and listen to my gal cuss me for two hours. Lol. I agree with just replace the cordage to my liking. Thanks for another test night review.
Have you seen the geertop two person tent. It's a around $100 and is a 2 wall 4 season tent that looks pretty good but no reviews of your caliber. Would love to see that. Thanks for the good reviews.
Most people are not aware of this but many sasquatchs wear Eau de Skunk to camouflage their odor which is worse than a skunk. (I know this because my sister married a sasquatch.)
When you did that “before you buy” video on this, you mentioned that it doesn’t come with as many stakes as you would like. Did you use extra stakes for this trip?
I have learned from experience to carry a few heavy duty curl/twister thick aluminum and a wood maul just in case. depending on the tent 1 spare pole piece cause it sucks to break one without a spare. I also use a campmor 10x10 rain fly. i sleep dry. usually i set the tarp up first then tent up in the dry.
Great video. I am almost close to buy this tent. One point I doubt. May you advise this tent for high wind conditions. I have to buy a tent for hiking in Iceland this summer. Thank you.
joseph richard If I had to guess, I’d say you’re gonna be good. When he was putting the sleeping pad & sleeping bag in the tent, near the start of video, it looked really roomy.
Great review Brother. I have the Snugpak scorpion 2 and love it. It has served me well in the Cdn Army. I am impressed with your enthusiasm at all times. Keep up the great work and please keep going . TMac528
Hi Luke I was watching this video and I looked at the tent price but it gave me a couple of prices. Does it have its own website; it would be great if you gave me the website to visit! Good video Luke.
Is it just me, But do I see plenty of rain droplets on the tent itself...(From your inside shots),This would mean that the rain fly did not completely do its job. Thanx for another enjoyable video.
can I setup cots in this tent and still sit up straight? (I'll get the 4 person version for 2 person to sleep in) do you think? (like 2 of those low standing cots). Subscribed.
The next upload is a Winter Overnight Adventure!
See you all on Friday.

Nothing like the sound of rain on a tent at night, in the woods.
It gonna make you sleep like a baby
once you hear a footstep and nothings there it's hard to sleep.

cool strory bro, thanks for sharing, hope you are well!!
I like the posting of the time and temps. Always curious how cold it is when they don’t mention it. Thanks for the video Luke.
I love this. I spent my entire childhood camping and backpacking without a waterproof tent. Frozen nights and wet mornings were common and I learned that no gear review can account for good company.
Been using this tent in Wyoming national parks for 2 years now, still awesome.
Its only 1200 mm. Waterproof?
Is that enough does it hold e.g. heavy rain out??? :-)

You stayed dry and got to listen to the rain sounds like a good night
l have only camped once and l don't like it but somehow you make it sound like l'm missing out, ,Your passion really comes through, .
Great video as always,I love it when you camp out in rain and snow storms,I guess its because it reminds me of being all snug in the tent when its storming outside,Thanks.
I’m a dialysis patient I watch ur video every night before I sleep I hope I can do the adventure one day when I’m fine

One of the best review channels on YT.
That rain is so beautiful to listen 2..Could fall asleep....zzzzzzzzzz

Nice tent...glad Klymit didn't add blue to the color scheme. The interior is clean looking. Thanks for sharing, Luke!
I’m glad that Klymit is a Utah based company, I just wish more of their stuff was made in the U.S..
Good to see that it is waterproof !!
Luke you would love it right now in NE PA. Freezing rain. At least a quarter inch on my deck. 30 degrees. Right up your alley.
Been subscribed for a few years now that's for taking me along your good company.
That's supposed to be thanks for taking me along
Thank you for the tip on tent stakes. My husband ALWAYS steps on them & I'm getting tired of replacing the ones he has bent or snapped when we camp in the mountains.
Looks like a good 3-season tent. Especially in the spring.

❣Beautifully done! Looks like an awesome tent.
Impressive how you can get so much information into 8 minutes. That's skill, or practice or both. Nice work.
Great review. Moves this tent near the top of my list for consideration. Thank you for putting your gear through its paces.
Can’t wait you have quite the snow storm heading your way! It will hit us on the weekend here in Nova Scotia!

Oh I'm pleasantly surprised at the price! For a tent that performs this well I expected it to be almost twice what it is. Great test.
Enjoyable test, as always Luke. If they just ran spell-check before they misspelled "Climate", the tent would be "perfect"...;)
Another great video....a very impressive piece of gear it seems. Thank you for all of your time and efforts sharing these videos with us. So useful when it comes to shopping for good gear for ourselves.

thanks again Luke happy holidays to you and yours, take care
Still looking forward to the review of this tent!
Looks like it held up well I would be interested in something like that nice
Unfortunately for me I am still at work so I will watch this later on tonight
Luke and Susan have a good
Another awesome review, thank you!
Adding that one to the list of things to get next year.
Great video of tent/rain. Thanks.
You have to have a dry tent!it is a must! This one passed the tent.
Rain on a tent, so relaxing
Not much beats being warm and cozy in a tent with the sound of rain on the tent....as long as the tent isn't leaking
Appeared like a formidable test with that deluge.
If you've not already seen it....I'd recommend the Vango Banshee 200 (a spacious one man tent)
Love skunk smell. It smells like good strong coffee. 👍🏼
Great video thanks I need something a little less complicated🤓
Definitely a cool looking tent.🤘✌️👏👏👏👏
Happy Holidays!

nice vid...instead of waking up to record the rain, you should try one of those sleep noise recorder apps and get your head down all night LOL
Been watching your channel for a while I so much need to get out and do what you do I work we too much
Can’t wait to see the review
Nice tent review and tent!
The skunk was a Sasquatch!! Lol

When you did that “before you buy” video on this, you mentioned that it doesn’t come with as many stakes as you would like. Did you use extra stakes for this trip?
Yes I did; I added four additional stakes to this kit. Great questions brother.

can you use wood u find
I love the sound of owls!
Did you ever end up doing a full review of this tent? I’ve skim through your channel but cannot find it.
Great video. I am almost close to buy this tent. One point I doubt. May you advise this tent for high wind conditions. I have to buy a tent for hiking in Iceland this summer. Thank you.
depends on the stakes you use too that makes a different
Another Great video..I hate smelling skunk..worse smell ever..lol..thank you for sharing.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wonderful sir
Just wondering if the final review will be coming out soon?
Hello Luke, great Video
Could you do a video on packing gear for like a 2 week adventure
Have you done the full review of this tent yet?
Like the New Music
Good product and review.
Great quality video!
Love your video
Wooohoooo its Luke time!!!

Have you done a test on the klymit cross canyon tent?
im with ya on the skunk thing i kinda like the smell and don"t at the same time..peace
What kind of torch/light do you use for the tent? Or for this one in particular?
Run between the raindrops !!!!!!
Great stuff keep it up
