POV: LEGOLAND Driving School

- As you may have seen on my community page: I have visited LEGOLAND Florida last month. And of course I took a look at the driving school. I was fortunate enough to experience this attraction when I was younger, so it brought back some fond memories. But I couldn't help but feel a bit sad that I will no longer experience this attraction because I'm too old now. So that got me thinking: how can we adults experience this amazing attraction again? And that's what started this project.
First I have to thank Necromaticon (you may have seen him on the @ProjectIsland channel) for providing all of the buildings, plants and other assets. It was amazing to take a look at all the buildings up close. I started to build my version of Lego City. The more buildings I added, the more my computer started to struggle. But it was important to me that the city felt like the LEGOLAND game from the year 2000. Then I added in some familiar characters and of course some shenanigans. I hope you all like it and that the video brings you joy!

I love seeing all these old Lego game characters in these animations. Lego Racers 1 and 2, Lego Island, and Stunt Rally. lots of memories.
Awesome! I love to include them where I can. They’re so iconic. 😁
If a Legoland remake with more content released today, it would have the potential to be THE cozy game! People gravitate towards relaxing video games now more than ever. Lego already has a cozy game with Bricktales, sure. But a laid back theme park manager with the ability to experience the park attractions in an ego-perspective after you've built them by yourself...
Wouldn't that be awesome?!
You’re onto something there! Games like Roller Coaster Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon have this relaxing vibe going on too. Would be awesome! Think of all the awesome LEGO themes over the years you could integrate into a park. Hopefully someone can make it. 😜
@@StudframeAnimations I'd be on board with a remake or reboot, even if it ends up as a mod. I think the addition of a Pirate theme and Space theme would be cool too!
I love seeing all the references you put in your videos. Captain Redbeard is iconic, but seeing Baron Flambo of all characters was quite a nice surprise. And I think I saw the LEGO Media logo as well!
Yeah you're right! The LEGO Media building was one of the shops you could build in the game. I also put the Brickster from Lego Island 1 in there, and also Basil the Batlord. Maybe you have seen them too. 😋
@@StudframeAnimations Ah yes, I missed them the first time, but on second viewing I did see Brickster peeping from behind the Media building and Basil in a car near the end. Nice!!
@@MannyBoy96 Cool, now you have spotted them all. I think I'll make it a thing in my animations to hide the Brickster somewhere, similar to Where's Wally. 😋
@@StudframeAnimations that would be cool! Fits his character too.
@@MannyBoy96 Alright! He won’t really fit within my next video but maybe in the one after that. 😁
Ah, memories! The Driving School was the highlight of the park for me when I visited as a young'un, so much so that I went back and got a second licence. I guess I now have three!
Hahah, you’re very experienced now. Would be cool of you could get your Lego motorcycle license or something like that. 😜
brings back memories. My old legoland driver's license is still laying around somewhere in my house.
Awesome! Glad it brought back fond memories. So cool that you still have your LEGO driver’s license. 😁
@@StudframeAnimations Yeah I hope I can find it haha
I forgot it existed for a long time until I saw your animation
@@rockaedward I hope you can find it! I still have mine and i’ll try to keep it for as long as possible. It brings so many nice memories. 😁
I loved the Lego Land game as a kid, really cool to see it from this perspective! I recently found out that the assistant character on that game was voiced by the guy who played Mr Tumble, a clown on kid's TV here when I was small, it was a bit of a shock to me to find out those were the same person. Great video!
@@mrhumbuck_ Thank you! That’s really cool! Great voice actor. 😁
Ah the old Legoland game theme and buildings, takes me back!
Awesome! I’m glad it brought back fond memories!
Just out of curiosity, how did you find this video? I want to grow the channel so I’m curious how you found it. 😄
Big fan of Rock Raiders and found your channel through that@@StudframeAnimations
@@LibraDeer Ahh alright, thanks for letting me know! 😁
MY GOD! u just recreate my childhood in HD, loved so much this game we need a legoland remake like Manic Miners
That would be amazing! Let’s hope it happens! 😄
Thats the sweet soundtrack of the LegoLand game! Nice detail
Yeah nice catch! The video won't be complete without it. 😄
0:34 Hi Redbeard
Also this must be at any Legoland that isn't Legoland Windsor because we're driving on the right side of the road.
Hahah very true. Or maybe everyone here is driving on the wrong side. It's a driving school after all. Who knows. 🤣
Would be cool to see a LEGOLAND remake or reimagining, even as a mod for a game like Rollercoaster Tycoon. The option to drive in Driving Schools and cruise in Boating Schools would be a great addition among other interactivities!
Yeah good idea! Maybe I'll turn this video into a series where you could experience everything in first-person. Hopefully it'll inspire somebody to make your idea a reality. 😁
@@StudframeAnimations And also, get someone else to play Jonathan Ablebody, because nobody can stand Mr. Tumble, especially British people who had to put up with him back in the day. I never heard of Mr Tumble when I grew up with this game, but the fact he wouldn't shut up eventually got so annoying that I did my own work around to delete all of his dialogue from the game.
@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 Who is mr. Tumble? He isn’t the voice actor right? That would be Justin Fletcher.
@@StudframeAnimations I didn't realize what his actual name was, as everyone referred to him as Mr. Tumble. I assumed his first name was Justin, but British people best know him as that annoying children's entertainer that has spawned a legacy of YTP at one point. I'm Australian and never heard of Mr. Tumble myself, but I can see why British people would be the most annoyed by the voice casting, because they actually identify the voice,
That's why I suggested changing or redubbing the voice acting entirely, with separate people playing Mr. Bimble, Professor Voltage and the reporters and advertisers that would announce certain attractions and reports on what's going on..
@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 Right! As a Dutch person, I didn’t know that was a thing. In the Dutch version of the game, 1 voice actor does all the voices. 😜
I think it would help if the voice lines had more variations. Or that the announcements during gameplay were more motivating, rather than alerting when something went wrong. Anyway, enough ideas out there, we can only dream Lego will do something with it.
I Could honestly believe this as an official video from Legoland it's so good!!
Thank you so much! I’m happy to hear that. ❤️
I took my Lego driver’s license at a Legoland park when I was a child. I still have the license to this day!
Awesome! Glad to hear it. 😁
Wonderful trip down memory lane. Keep up the great content!
Thank you! Glad you liked it! 😁
Awesome! Reminds me of playing lego island 2!
Cool! Driving in that game was so much fun. 😁
Looks awesome loved the animation
Thank you so much! 😄
This epic! I wish 10 year old me had seen the game this way. I almost lived in Lego games as a kid. Even at age 31 I still boot them up from time to time.
Awesome! I’m glad the video brought back happy memories! Thanks for watching! 😁
@@StudframeAnimations If I could ask for one improvement it would be that the cars had the cartoony sputtering they had in the game. It would be the icing on the cake. I would also love to see a POV of the flume with all the addons. I wish Legoland had one like the game in real life. I look forward to see what is next! I am sure this is gonna be fun!
@@TufteMotorsport The car sounds were so strange, in my opinion. Very iconic, but a bit annoying if you have to listen to that for the whole video. I was worried it would annoy people who hadn’t played the game. 😜
When you say flume, are you talking about the western water barrel ride? Or a different one? I will add it to the idea list. 😁
Nice video! I really liked seeing all the models in action. Also, Baron Flambo?
Thank you so much! I like combining characters of different games together. In my mind it's one big universe. 😋
If only getting a driver's license was that easy
Also saw Captain Redbeard at 0:32
Hahah exactly! I put a few characters from different Lego games in there. 😁
@@StudframeAnimations It's fun seeing all these different characters all interacting, the older Lego games I find to be a lot more fun than the new ones, mostly because of the variety. The new games aren't bad, but they all just feel the same
@@Nowhere536I fully agree with you. That’s actually a big reason why I started this TH-cam channel. The TT Games aren’t bad or anything but to me they lack character that the older games had. I hope I can bring that classic Lego game feeling to the modern times with these animations.
@@StudframeAnimations I think you did an amazing job! TT relies too much on licensed movies, City Undercover is the only one that was unique
Speaking of the classic games, do you know the site Bricks To Bytes?
@@Nowhere536Yeah I agree. I liked Undercover, but 75% in the storyline I was kind of bored by the “change character to fix simple obstacle” mechanic. But I liked the open world aspect of it.
Yes, I know about the Bricks to Bytes site and channel. It’s cool to see how much content there is about old Lego games from the 90s.😄
Nice concept. Looks real 😊
Thank you for the nice comments! ❤
Epic
Thank you! 😁
Can you do the Boating School next?
Would be a fun one. I hope I can work on that video soon. 😁
Heb je wellicht een community discord? Ik zou die erg graag willen joinen!
Ikzelf niet, maar er zijn een aantal Discords binnen de Lego community waar ik ook actief op ben. Project Island en Manic Miners zijn de bekendste.
I just stumbled on your channel. I love your videos. You have a dutch accent, am I right?
Thank you so much! Yes, I do. 😜
@@StudframeAnimations cool, I am dutch too. used to hack lego racers 2 back in the day.
@@cisixbird Tof! Leuk om te zien dat de LEGO games je nog steeds interesseren. 😁
@@StudframeAnimations zeker, blijft toch een stukje Childhood haha! Maar ga vooral door met de video's, vind ze erg tof!
@@cisixbird Dankjewel! Ga ik zeker doen! 😁
