    This Video helps me a lot to dis and assemble the extruder after having clogging problems. Prints always stops after some times and didnt know why. nozzle was clean but still got clogging. hopefull it seems to be some filament stuck dry´ed on one of the mechanical wheels. Hope it runs now again. just started a new print. Thanks.

    Great video. My Kobra 3 stopped extruding after 2 prints. I took my hotend out, and there was about 1/8" of filament sticking out the top. I removed the filament and attempted to remove the extruder tip and BAM! With very little pressure, the tip broke off flush from the threads. I'm going to replace it with a regular hotend for now.

      Ahh, yeah for whatever reason those nozzle are very brittle and can broke easily. Glad the video helped.

    Thanks for making these videos. Just got a Kobra 3 today and it leaked right away, ordered this exact hot end before seeing this video, excited to get this printer going and now I have what I need to replace it. 🐐

    Another great video! I love these "hands on" videos showing how to deal with the Kobra 3 hardware.

    Is it really nessesary to exchange the heatsink when installing the new hotend? There are upgrade kits online with and without heatsink included.
    Im wondering if the new ceramic hotend fits the original heatsink?

    • @Scratch3DPrinting
      @Scratch3DPrinting  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it does fit, when I compare both of them, they are VERY identical.

    Just did this myself. You don't actually need to take off the extruder assembly at the top or the side cover. You can just remove the two screws at the back of the hotend and it comes right out. Your video was a nice reference though as I couldn't figure out what was holding the hotend in place. lol

    • @Scratch3DPrinting
      @Scratch3DPrinting  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah after the whole disassemble I figure that out too.

    I have a Kobra 2 Max, it’s been a really difficult experience. I basically get one print then a clog. At first I bought a hi-metal heat break, then that didn’t work. I ended up buying this type of ceramic hot end kit with a bi-metal, and yet i still have issues.
    I have had this printer for almost a year now, it’s gotten maybe 100 hours of prints out, I’ve spent more time fixing it than printing

      There are some 3d printers like that. I have similar problems with the K1 max, but eventually it started printing again.

      What I like to do is the temperature test, flow rate, and pressure advance.

    Awesome video. 👍🏻 They should do something about the extrude - retract settings in firmware. After each print finishes, the printer retracts the filament as if it needs to do a color change (why?!). After that you can do a printer retract of the already retracted filament but you have to wait for the nozzle to heat up (why?!). Unnecessary purges everywhere and lots of material too. At least the prints seem to be ok most of the time. 🤔

    • @Scratch3DPrinting
      @Scratch3DPrinting  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that is pretty weird that the kobra 3 retract when it finished a print.

    i've been considering this printer but the hotend design looks like a nightmare! You did a great job explaining this.

    • @Scratch3DPrinting
      @Scratch3DPrinting  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The hotend design is not that bad. It has easy access and can be worked on with no problems.

      @@Scratch3DPrintingthey had a model in display at FormNext show, I think it's called Kobra S1 or something, a core xy machine that works with multicolour sistem they have.

    If the heat block is identical, why not leave it and just replace the nozzle? Or is there a reason for changing it?

    • @Scratch3DPrinting
      @Scratch3DPrinting  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That would work, but I can't get the heat block to come off the new hotend, it seems like its glue tight to it.
