Finally, a version of Blaster which resembles the G1 cartoon likeness. They took long enough. We've had so many remakes of Soundwave, I didn't think that we would EVER get something like this.
I think the priority should be : (using available moulds and slight remoulds) 1. Shattered Glass Soundwave 2. Twincast 3. Soundblaster [Earthmode] (perhaps as a Select series toy or in a gift set) 4. Diaclone or SG Blaster. Then Cassettes.. lots and lots of Cassettes.
@@labetenoire Steeljaw would be nice and perhaps a Howlinger repaint as well. They can always cheapen it up a bit and use Laserbeak's Earth Mode mould as Sundor I guess and pack that with Rewind. The "clear Energon" look would even really suit Sundor too. I would hope that if they do get around to doing an Earthmode Soundblaster then that would be a brown box release and then they can be flexible on the price point and include Buzzsaw too.
I lost a titans return blaster from my childhood. It’s nice to see him get redesigned. I still have the HEAD to this day though…. Still, I got that nostalgia to the gut when I heard this bad boy came back out. I’m so happy now.
Blaster seems about right to me... He is a big boy. I did think Studio Series Perceptor was/is a bit titchy though - if only because why bother making another Deluxe - a Voyager would have made more sense for him.
@@90lancaster I just piece-watched the 86 movie and top of Perceptor's head should be at Blaster's shoulder. He's only a tincy taller than should be. Negligible imo. Blaster looks damn good. And group shot at 8:31 is so cool. Now we just need Wheelie and rest of the dinobots 🤗. A better Arcee as well.

Fabulous figure. Love Blaster and have to say Eject is lovely. A lot nicer than the Rumble & Frenzy figures we got - would prefer if they made Eject in opaque coloured plastic though. Hopefully Generation Selects might! Fingers crossed!
The only disappointing thing about this one for me was the choice of Eject as he was the least interesting of Blaster's cassettes. When they released Seige Soundwave, they also released a two pack of Ravage and Laserbeak to go with it. I hope they do something like that again for Blaster, but the two pack would have Ironjaw and Ramhorn.
I quite like that he is the same height as Rodimus, Springer and not far off Ultra Magnus as I always think of the scene in Call of the Primatives with those four characters together fighting the cons.
This looks fantastic. I really like what they did with EJECT especially considering that my son destroyed all my original cassettes I'm looking forward to having him back with all his parts (my G1 is currently missing a leg)

Let's hope so, it's long overdue. They did a Fall of Cybertron Soundblaster (only way to get FoC Buzzsaw), but not Twincast. Titans Return had Soundblaster & Twincast as the Headmasters for Soundwave & Blaster, and as such, didn't repaint either. And then they didn't do a Soundblaster from the Netflix WFC-T Soundwave.
Kingdom Voyager Class Blaster is the perfect way to end 2021! 😃 Despite a handful of flaws like the transformation to either of his modes being a bit frustrating, and Eject being very brittle, etc., Hasbro, and Takara Tomy have done an excellent job of designing this figure! 👍 Without a doubt the best Blaster figure currently to date! 👌 Smashing review once again, PVP! 👏
I got the Legacy version last night, and it seems they may have slightly tweaked a bit of the engineering. The hand tabs slot in correctly and it's no issue getting them to slot correctly into the legs as you slide them into place. Really the only thing I'd would have liked is for his fingers to articulate, but otherwise, Blaster and Kickback are absolutely perfect.
The translucent cassette makes me optimistic that they'll do a shattered glass version, since that set had a yellow translucent rewind/eject mold cassette. I've had that SG set above my closet doors for years, as I think its boxart is really cool.
I love soundwave and blaster. Being someone who enjoys music, its cool to see that two of the transformers are music based objects, even if they are completely outdated to the modern day, its still great to see. I dont have soundwave but I would take both

I agree on how great the WFC line is! I was an MP-only collector before this line, I think the last time I bought a mainline Transformer before WFC was way back when G1 was just Transformers. This gorgeous Blaster is a must-buy, thank you for another excellent, detailed review!

I just bought Blaster unexpectedly at Fred Meyer… there were several figures left. As I recall, from the original G1 figures, Blaster was bigger than Soundwave back then.

Practically, this is Studio Series Blaster. Remember that SS86 simply exists because they pushed some WFC figures into Studio Series, so that Beast Wars could get some representation in WFC
He looks amazing except for the wholes as you can see through. It would have been nice if the gun would have transformed to his batteries as Soundwave's.
Ran into Target today for a box of cereal, and what do you know, there's one Blaster sitting there on the shelf, just asking me why I haven't picked it up already. They even had the cereal I wanted. Double bonus. Still wish it came with Rewind though.
I just moved to a new state last night and had to make a Walmart run to buy soap. Low and behold a lone blaster in my sight. Scoring a figure when you are great feels satisfying but finding it when your not expecting it is bliss

Blaster has always been about a head taller than Soundwave if my memory serves correctly, so I think they are in scale together well

I appreciate how Eject's limbs aren't on balljoints like Rumble or Frenzy so they're not as prone to pop off at times.

I like Soundwave to be a bit bulky in Cassette Player mode. As micro-cassette players, weren’t very thin. They had that 80’s bulk.
