@@JZblue9 problem with shotty’s is that u need to get close to use em , and for anyone other than a prismatic hunter or banner/bonk Titan it’s impractical in endgame content, outside of a few niche dps use cases like Fourth horseman and also I’ve seen some people run two shotguns and tractor to dps Crota or other close range bosses

@yash3576 ok but bungie has made it clear outside of the few subclasses that already do it well they don't want us shotgunning and swording as a viable strategy outside of a few SPECIFIC bosses considering all the mechanics they make and upgrade specifically to stop us from doing so: slam mechanics, flaming slam mechanics with a lingering burn, actively nerfing the few good shotgun dps perks and damage rotations ect. They are basically treating shotguns in pve the way they treat bows in crucible: if you want to use them here; fine, but we're gonna nerf them in such a way that they feel unrewarding to use unless you're actually ridiculously good with them and even then you heavily feel the nerfs.
When they first nerfed Chill Clip, I found myself using Riptide more then Deliverance, but before the nerf I use Deliverance cause it had Demo in the 3rd column. Now they buffed it to allow 2 shots to freeze, Deliverance is now my main fusion. My baby is back!
If you get the sniper from salvations edge with chill clip it freezes in 2 shots and has taken over my kinetic slot since I got mine. I think it’s the fastest chill clip weapon in the game
Riptides' entire existence leans on chillclip. It's the worst fusion ever in almost all of its stats. The only thing it had going was fast, easy freezes. Having chillclip at all is still good, but it's now almost certainly going to remain the worst option as long as this is the case.
@@althechicken9597 Riptide will still be the best chillclip fusion for proccing slow once, meaning it's still the best for overloads, but precisions/high impacts are definitely the best for freezing

While riptide was reigning, there was also the addition of chill clip rocket launchers. Could you test out chill clip rockets and see if there’s anything notable?
Back when it was 2 shots, bump in the night with chill clip was just okay. The only use case I can really see is a champ stunning rocket launcher. For bosses: It really depends on how much shatter dmg you can get in a dmg phase (which changed in final shape). The tldr it’s better to have a consistent damage perk.

I used command with an ambitious chill clip lingering dread a little bit when I was testing fragments. the first two shots would freeze a beefy enemy, then a third gets loaded and it usually kills the guy, which lets me get 2 in the mag again for an insta freeze Its really funny when it works, but its not reliable at all

This is objectively wrong. Chill clip is good for champ stunning. And before surge removal, it was some nice side dmg with stasis surge. If you’re radiant, chill clip will stun all 3 champs. I’d prefer chill clip over the alternative of someone running 2 primaries in a GM.

Aurvandil has reconstruction and chill clip, with no reserves I have 10 freezing shots without reloading or stowing the weapon.

the reason you only have 16 with ur riptide is because of backup mag it normally holds 18 idk why but rapid fires hold less with backup mag
