Kiko, I think you have a leg up over many players having been soaked in Bossa Nova early on. I lived in Brasil for a year after many vacations but sadly had to leave as I couldn't make a buck to stay (before TH-cam).
All I had to do was sit on a beach, have a couple of Skols, and listen to MPB (rip) playing a little older music. It brought a tear to my eye and I realized at that point what lies in the heart of Brasil. Muito saude par vc e seu familia. Entendo o decisao pra sair Megadeth. Familia esta todo.

Well...That was what I though when I heard Al Di Meola when 22...Jajjaaj! And Jaco as a bassist, of course..!!
I know Jazz is the bassis as my Dad grow that taste in me , then after that I age I went into Maiden and Metal, but, I had the basis..and yes only by ear, then I went into musical theory , but on my own, and I bet that was the best way, as you can go your own pace ...
But always trying to go on and effort myself..
    You are right Kiko...
    Just subscribed to Guitar Evolution!
So happy...thanks a lot for this!

Pat Metheny..so long that I have not listened to him....That´s nice, I am more into Metal now, but Pat was a great discovery to me, because of our bassist Pedro Aznar being in his band...=)

Can you someday teach us about the way you alternate pick. Do you use pickslanting? How do you cleanly change string while alternate picking using a flat picking angle?
