I am excited and envious of you friend. The first playthrough of oblivion holds a dear place to my heart. I know I have a lot of nostalgia for TES4, but the game in a lot of ways is a great stand alone game as well a phenomenal Elder scrolls game (it’s better than Skyrim in my opinion.
I think Skyblivion will be very different form Oblivion since the engine is different/updated. Will Skyblivion have spellcrafting like Oblivion? Will armor break and be repairable with hammers like in Oblivion? Will they implement the speechcraft wheel like in oblivion? As far as i am aware Skyblivion is just Skyrims gameplay mechanics in Oblivions world which is impressive but a different gameplay experience. So i am much more interested in the official rerelease assuming it retains Oblivions unique mechanics.
@@Jaml321 so i have been following along the skyblivion project for many years now, and i can't tell you if they are fixing these things, however i can say they are attempting to mirror many of the mechanics that Oblivion had into the mod. like i remember watching one of the videos they frequently update they were showing off spears and how the player and NPC's can use them, it's not just using the basic move sets that skyrim used, they had to recreate everything from scratch, they are keeping the same stupid lock picking mechanic from Oblivion, i personally always hated that tumbler nonsense, but again it's one of those mechanics that were originally in Oblivion, so it's entirely possible they have implemented the spell crafting mechanic as they want to be as close to the original as possible. i know they also plan on using the same perks menu style where you have to find a bed to sleep in order to level up, they are also keeping the Oblivion starting skill sets like the Original game. so again it's possible they also have the armor degradation mechanic, i once used a mechanic like this in the form of a mod for skyrim years ago, it wasn't done exactly as you describe, the way you get your armor fixed is you would have to find a blacksmith and pay them to fix your armor, but i think there was also an optional way, it's been many years since i last used that mod, but it can be done, it just may not be the exact same method in how the mechanic works. i would search for skyblivion diary logs, you should be able to find all the mechanics they are adding to the game.

Since there is no way to play Skyblivion on consoles, I appreciate Bethesda letting Virtuos remake the game in Unreal Engine 5 for us console players. I wish I had a PC that could run Skyblivion at a solid 60fps - 1080p -1440p - 4K. I don't know how much it would cost to either buy a pre built or build a PC to run the mod. I don't know much about PC in general. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. The only reason I would ever want a PC is to Mod Skyrim and Oblivion.
You don't need a very high end PC at all to run Skyrim or oblivion - it would easily cost you less than a console. I'd say 250 would be plenty - look at some options for budget gaming PCs - any of them would be enough for what you want, even with some heavy moding. And the nice thing is you can always upgrade hardware later, if you decide you want a more capable machine
Bethesda could have made the Elder Scrolls fandom really happy by instead remastering Morrowind. I love the game but my God is it dated. Instead we have this weird situation where it almost feels like they are competing with a beloved fan made project. I hope Skyblivion gets all the love and support it deserves.
I can almost guarantee Skyblivion will be better done. Bethesda has lost their passion. Too bad I don't have 2000 dollars for a gaming PC. So oblivion remake it is.
Gaming PCs are not $2000. $700 - $850 will get you a good one and even then you could go cheaper if you wanna run this game that uses a graphics engine from 2011...
I'll definitely play Skyblivion when it releases, it was one of the main reasons I was thinking about getting a PC or not, along with other mods for games. I would have thought that given its impending release, and the age of the game, that Bethesda would be better off doing a remake of Morrowind (as we have no idea if/when Skywind gets finished), but it is what it is. From the dev diaries, Skyblivion looks like it will end up being better than an Oblivion remake in terms of quality.
There's no way it's a coincidence, not with how Bethesda has been increasingly negative toward valid, context and evidence-backed criticism of their latest releases and customer practices. It rings of petty when all they have to do is wait a year or some shit after Skyblivion releases. Unless some higher ups at Microsoft are telling them to pull the trigger on the new Oblivion soon. Who knows in this wacky ass world.
Bethesda both hate their fans and their modders, if their reaction to the bad press of their more recent releases like Starfield and that. So, it's obvious this is a play to make sure they are "on top" and in full ownership, rather than their players.
@ Not the same thing. Fallout London was a spinoff with no direct comparison to anything Bethesda made. Skyblivion is literally going to be a 1:1 direct comparison with the oblivion remaster.
I would not at all be surprised if they intentionally released an official Oblivion remaster incredibly close to the Skyblivion release, and they will probably make a pointless yet significant update to Skyrim on the eve of the release, just like they did with Fallout London and the "next gen" Fallout 4 update. Petty Todd
Modding is the deal breaker for me. I mod Skyrim all the time, both as a user and author. One of the reasons I'm looking forward to Skyblivion is that I'm getting a little tired of modding skyrim specifically, as in, I know the world too well. Oblivion on the other hand, I've never played it; the graphics and some of the dated gameplay features have always put me off. I've been waiting for skyblivion to come out, because for me it means I get to play oblivion for the first time with a bunch of the jank removed while also being in an updated engine I know how to mod. I have 0 good will left for shitthesda, they burned it all with 76, starfield bullshit and constantly breaking my modlist on Skyrim SE back in the day, trying to nickle and dime us for crappy CC stuff, they broke the creation kit and have been a destabilising force for the modding community for too long. If the Oblivion remaster/remake whatever thing came out 5/6 years ago I might be signing a different tune, the fact that it will be using UE means I have no interest in it, as it will likely cause huge issues to mod it, given that UE is much harder to mod.
I know one of thr former interior designers for skyblivion. I'll be playing it once they finally finish it just to see how much of what he worked on makes it into the final release of the mod. I am a bit heaitant to see what bethesda plans to do with their remaster of the game, since im still on the fence with how i feel about the mechanics and visuals of ESO. Heres to this remaster and TES6 being released... Someday.
This is not even a question. Skyblivion is going to be so much better because of the passion that the community is pouring into it. And it's absolutely free.
Skyblivion should 100% be available for sale on the Creation Club so that all of the contributors can get paid for their percentage of contribution per each sale, and they should get most of the money, idk how much Bethesda makes off Creation Club but they need to be fair to the team for Skyblivion because they inspired the official remake and proved it to be popular for free so they really should be rewarded by the company itself.
It will be funny if Skyblivion is the actual remaster and has been under wraps for the longest time, and actually wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility.
@@bestopinion9257 Let's be honest, no one is going to want to experience the same story and the same locations two times in a short time-frame... People will play one or the other, either Skyblivion or this Oblivion remake

If you already own Skyrim SE version you already own Skyblivion. Skyblivion devs said their installer will look for Oblivion so if you dont have it just buy it cheap on the next Steam sale.
What a slap in the face to the Skyblivion team and community if they do end up remastering it. I don’t have a PC to play Skyblivion but I won’t be playing the official remaster if they do release it, especially after how Starfield turned out
Bethesda is not cool enough to remake Oblivion. How would they do this? It’s been 14 years since Skyrim and they are just going to whip up a full blown oblivion remake?? Oblivion is a larger game than Skyrim. They will not do this.
As much as I do trust the skyblivion team more than Bethesda’s remaster (and am much more excited about it) I do expect more of a remaster for oblivion than we have been getting with Skyrim for the last decade. It sounds like they’re doing some voodoo god magic with two engines, which should be interesting.
The rumors stated that oblivion remaster started as a remaster but slowly morphed into a remake , IF virtous studios remakes the combat of oblivion and fixes the scaling/progression for me that would be a step up from Skyblivion which is Oblivion in skyrim engine. but thats a HUUUUGE if and ill probably play both at somepoint
The thing is, Skyblivion isn't meant to be a replacement for the original Oblivion. The remaster (if done well and faithfully) would be. Skyblivion would only be threatened if Bethesda remade Oblivion.
Remember that time Bethesda put the kibosh on the Fallout 3 in Fallout 4 mod because they had a Creation Club mod coming out that would be set in the Capitol Wasteland? Something tells me they'll be more trigger happy with a full-game release.
If the Oblivion Remake is moddable, Skyblivion should merge their content together with the remake, keep the pros and throw out the cons, for the best of both worlds.
I still find it crazy they chose oblivion and not morrowind, of all the fan projects Skyblivion always felt like the most manageable with how professionally they managed themselves. Tbh I think the they just chose oblivion because it required less work to modernise ie mostly just graphical where as morrowind would require a whole new engine and voice acting to bring it to modern standards but the Skyblivion team is going above and beyond to improve dungeon and environment design it's essentially like a remake of your fully modded copy of oblivion not just the original game. As I understand the rumours the official remaster is like the halo remasters where its a new coat of paint being rendered over the top of the original engine ie no changes to the base game.
Being honest I would rather play skyblivon when it release then the remake. I love oblivion and the elderscrolls/fallout series but oblivion combat was ass the story was very good though.
Not a remaster, it's a remake if they are switching engines. Oblivion in UE would be amazing and the fact that it would be made by somebody other than Bethesda is just icing on the cake.
I haven't spent a single penny with Bethesda after Fallout 4 - and this is after 1000s of hours in Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3 and the better NV. Monetizing creation club - pushing out modders who fix their own games oh and the 76 and Starfield self-indulgent duds. I am DONE. Skyrim was "meh..." and the 50th extra special super editions were just middle fingers to loyal fans, "buy this game again... for the 6th time!". I will NOT pay for a Bethesda remaster, regardless of the studio actually doing it, of a game I already own. Full stop.
There is no doubt in my mind Bethesda cannot match the passion of the mod team. One will be clearly better even if there are some nice QoL things Bethesda is able to toss in. It won't be close.
A lot of people seem to think that this is Bethesda trying to "bury" Skyblivion, while Skyblivion literally needs you to own a copy of Oblivion in order to play it, meaning it's a perfect chance for Bethesda to sell some more copies of Oblivion, since people playing Skyblivion will need it anyway, and Skyblivion isn't available on consoles. It's a win-win situation for Bethesda, Skyblivion is a golden goose that's going to make their old game popular again. If they release a remastered version of Oblivion at the same time, well, they're going to be selling Oblivion to people at full price (or close to it) again, now aren't they. If they tried to get rid of Skyblivion, they'd make much less money.
I’ve been waiting to play oblivion till skyblivion + Skyrim together comes out. I’ll be playing with my brother who has put over 1000 hours into Skyrim so hopefully it’s a great time for both of us who haven’t touched oblivion
I'm REALLY hoping that Bethesda saw the Skyblivion teams progress and brought them in to help bring what they're doing to consoles and this is the result. Has any of the Skyblivion team spine about the Bethesda produced remake?
I wont make any criticisms or snap judgements as of yet, but I definitely think this will be a very revealing moment. In the current ongoing debate between whether passion or resources makes for better games, here would be an extremely clear-cut example of one versus the other on an unprecedented scale. All assuming Bethesda actually is doing a remaster, lol
Skyblivion is going to be practically a new game with Skyrim mechanics and graphics with a new setting. As fun as Skyblivion is probably going to be, it’s not going to be “the oblivion experience”. The Oblivion remaster will most probably be the oblivion experience through and through but with updated visuals and maybe smoother controls and hopefully bug fixes. I think both can co-exist just fine.
@@HorseArmour Business. Those fools are capable of removing anyone from the path, even large companies full of people. I personally am not waiting for a single project, because there is old Oblivion and a lot of high tech mods. For all we know skyblivon could be the remaster we might get skyblivion as the remaster for pc but to cover Beth backside they will just ask for promisson to release for consoles also
What i personnaly am hoping for is that bethesda recognizes the work skyblivion folks had put in through years and release their little mod under their own roof, cut 1% of sells for themeselves you know for the rights and shit, and let us give 99% of those what ever 40$ they wanna charge for a remakemaster to skyblivion volunteers. But that will never happen, because of greed that 3x triple AAA studios showed in the last decade.
The main benifit of the offical remaster would be that console players can play it. SkyBlivion will never be able to come to consoles, so ES fans on consoles will either have to settle with the nearly 20 year old game, settle with watching other people play SkyBlivion, or buy a gaming PC themselves.
I would be interested in an Oblivion remake if they actually released a game that really depicts the way Cyrodiil is supposed to be. Such as showcasing the Nibenese and Colovian cultures.
I want to be optimistic but my hopes are not high unfortunately. The timing is just a little too perfect - this feels like a slap in the face to all the effort the skyblivion team has been putting in
Different projects. Skyblivion is a _remake_ of TES: V, a reimagining using a different engine with adapted mechanics and expanding on the lore to wildly increase the diversity of biomes, architecture and enemies in the game. Any remaster would simply be the same old game (which folks should still go and play btw) running smoothly on modern hardware, without mods; _maaaybe_ some content bugfixes (don't hold your breath), upscaled textures and improved lighting and LOD. The advantage would be clear-this would be the recommended way for newcomers to play the old classic, without having to wrestle the 20 yr-old Gamebryo modding bear. Also the way folks could experience the DLC (Skyblivion is absolutely *not* releasing Shivering Isles or NotN on release, only the base game will be done this year). Bethesda's marketing budget will all but insure millions more become aware of Skyblivion than otherwise would have. Win-win. Also-no reason to believe Skyblivion won't be extremely idiot-proof to install, just like Fallout: London.
I have no doubt the Skybilvion remake will be better, Bethesda have proved time and again they don't seem to care about delivering good products anymore, a remaster from them will be nothing more than a low effort graphics update sold at full price or near full price. If you have followed Skyblivion even a little its very clear this is so much more than just a copy and paste job. However if you play on console a Bethesda remaster is better than nothing as Skyblivion will never come to console.
@@SkintSNIPER262 I know, what's that got to do with what I said. Its a Bethesda IP, they don't care about delivering good products, it will cost full price or near full price. Just because some other studio is actually making it does not change those facts and does not change that Bethesda are in charge and calling the shots. Everything they do is low effort and if they tell the studio they have x amount of time and its not enough to optimize the game for example then it won't be optimized. If its true its going to be on Unreal 5 then good luck with getting a game that runs well and does not look like generic rubbish like almost all Unreal 5 games. At the end of the day I will be more than happy to be proved totally wrong but after more than a decade of trash to meh games and twenty years of Todd's fat little lies why would anyone believe anything that company says. You can always buy the game when its out and proven to be good, none of us need to believe or give that company a penny until they prove themselves.

I don't think one will overshadow the other. It's Bethesda's game and they have the right to do whatever they want with it including fill it full of pink gay elephants. The people capable of actually installing a 3rd party mod will absolutely do so regardless of how good or crap the official release is and that's the way it should be.
Modders can take this as their cue to quit wasting their time and instead put their talents to good use, working together to make their own game from scratch.

But still the timing is just terrible for the people that worked so hard on skyblivion.
Wouldn't it be something if this "Official Oblivion Remaster" turns out to *BE* Skyblivion? I very much doubt Bethesda would do that, because that would require them to give more than two shits about their community; but it'd be pretty damn nice to see.

The fellow who is running the Skyblivion game is a huge fan and has often said he encourages both games, and gets annoyed when folks bash Bethesda as he has met a lot of the team and he regularly says this in his streams. Why is it necessary to pit then against each other, why not just enjoy both??
So the Horse Armor DLC will finally get famous once again.
Fuck now that you mention it..... Bethesda literally created modern gaming. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Skyblivion will be my first ever playthrough for oblivion. I never played it when I was in school, and by the time I got into elder scrolls and wanted to everyone around me told me to wait. I'm totally a casual, and even I know this. I don't see any world where the modders are upstaged by bethesda on this.
well technically it's not being done by bethesda, it's being done by another studio named virtuoso i believe the name is, anyway they are known for doing remakes of games and they usually do a damn good job.
but i still feel the same as you, i doubt they will upstage the modding community on this simply because Skyblivion is being made by passionate ppl who already love the game and want to bring that loved game to ppl who have not played it or would want to come back, however the remake by this other company is described to be using two engines, UE5 for visuals and creation engine for everything else, but it's not described which version of the creation engine they will be using, for all we know they could be using the latest version of the creation engine to make the game, and that could either be better or worse for the game.
@@Jaml321
so i have been following along the skyblivion project for many years now, and i can't tell you if they are fixing these things, however i can say they are attempting to mirror many of the mechanics that Oblivion had into the mod.
like i remember watching one of the videos they frequently update they were showing off spears and how the player and NPC's can use them, it's not just using the basic move sets that skyrim used, they had to recreate everything from scratch, they are keeping the same stupid lock picking mechanic from Oblivion, i personally always hated that tumbler nonsense, but again it's one of those mechanics that were originally in Oblivion, so it's entirely possible they have implemented the spell crafting mechanic as they want to be as close to the original as possible.
i know they also plan on using the same perks menu style where you have to find a bed to sleep in order to level up, they are also keeping the Oblivion starting skill sets like the Original game.
so again it's possible they also have the armor degradation mechanic, i once used a mechanic like this in the form of a mod for skyrim years ago, it wasn't done exactly as you describe, the way you get your armor fixed is you would have to find a blacksmith and pay them to fix your armor, but i think there was also an optional way, it's been many years since i last used that mod, but it can be done, it just may not be the exact same method in how the mechanic works.
i would search for skyblivion diary logs, you should be able to find all the mechanics they are adding to the game.
It's basically a whole different game with all of the additions and changes. You should totally play Oblivion still. It's still a unique experience.
Oblivion DLC will not be available upon Skyblivion's release, it will come later
Skyblivion Free Nothing Else Need To Be said.
Can't play on console. Free is irrelevant.

Absolute dickmove. They know about Skyblivion as long as we do.
Not that I'm still missed after Starfuck but if they pull that of I think I'm done with them.
TES6 is far away and most folks are scared that they screw this up as well.
Golden era is gone and Bethesda is working hard on a long painful death.
I didn’t know it was a dick move to make a remaster of a game that is their intellectual property around the same time as a fan remake that’ll only be available on PC.
@@tarheelpro87 Ye it’s not a dick move trying to make ur own fan-base project obsolete after they have been working for more than 10 years on it. Just because they have the rights legally it doesn’t mean it’s not a terrible move. We all know why Bethesda is doing it and making fans happy is non of it.
@ again, it’ll only be on PC guaranteed. Console players would be left in the dust for Skyblivion, so an Oblivion Remaster would likely be it’s own thing and available to console players with mod support. Plus, if you’re a PC player nobody would be forcing you to pay for an Oblivion Remaster, and you could just get Skyblivion. You’re talking about how it’s unfair for the fans making this mod, but you don’t seem to give a shit about how unfair it is to people on Xbox, PlayStation, and possibly the next Nintendo console.
I’m convinced people are just so butthurt by Starfield they want to find every possible thing to attack Bethesda for. Starfield wasn’t their best, but I still liked it. 7-8/10, I’ll die on that hill. (can’t, and wouldn’t defend Fallout 76 though)

@@tarheelpro87 Ok boot-licker... they took a broken game FO4, and then ruined it even worse with a "next gen" update. No fixes, nothing about patches, just silence. Bethesda taking down the fan remake would be like stabbing at their own _heart_ and I'm so paranoid they'll try it. They've learned all the wrong lessons over the years and the publishing side of Bethesda has been screwing over other developers for over a DECADE. (Let alone the absolute _rug_ _pull_ they pulled on Obsidian with New Vegas. Todd is _still_ butthurt people consider NV the best Fallout.)
I'm gonna play both, naturally. However, with the modders, they've kept Elder Scrolls series alive for Bethesda. Skyblivion should be your absolute priority if you're a long time mod user.
Thank you modding community! 🎉
Maybe they could pay Skyblivion team for their work somehow and release skyblivion as an official elders roll title

It wouldn't be the 1st time Bethesda screwed over a modding team. I'm giving my support to Skyblivion over what ever half baked cash grab Bethesda has in the tuck. I'll bet you all my nickels the Oblivion Remaster going to be a broken mess that BGS is gonna leave to the modding community to fix.
It would be funny if a. Fan remake out shines an official remaster
@maxmeier4039 Thank you for the info. I may look around to come tax time.

Im calling it rn, the official remaster will disappoint in some way or another. Skyblivion will not.
Stoked for skyblivion
Well, there won't be a "Creation Club" in Skyblivion that sells you other peoples work...
Unfortunately people are more than happy to pay and make content for it, so it doesn't matter. Bethesda are horrible.
Other people willing put their work up and earn money. BGS isn't taking a 100% cut
You don't need a 2000 $ pc
You know that there is Virtuos games working on the remake of Oblivion and not Bethesda, right?
Mine was 2600 so yea you kinda do to game at 4k
No you can't, it looks nothing like oblivion. Just another mod for Skyrim and Skyrim has the worst gameplay of all 3d elder scrolls.
Omg a channel named HorseArmour lmfao fuxkin instant sub before even starting the video.
Hahaha thanks Matt!!!
May the Horse Armor, Be with you 🐎
There's no way it's a coincidence, not with how Bethesda has been increasingly negative toward valid, context and evidence-backed criticism of their latest releases and customer practices. It rings of petty when all they have to do is wait a year or some shit after Skyblivion releases. Unless some higher ups at Microsoft are telling them to pull the trigger on the new Oblivion soon. Who knows in this wacky ass world.
Bethesda "loves" their modders because they fix their broken games for them.
Bethesda both hate their fans and their modders, if their reaction to the bad press of their more recent releases like Starfield and that. So, it's obvious this is a play to make sure they are "on top" and in full ownership, rather than their players.
This is going to be a proving ground for AAA companies: Can independent modders make YOUR games better than you can??
Already proven: Fallout London
@ Not the same thing. Fallout London was a spinoff with no direct comparison to anything Bethesda made. Skyblivion is literally going to be a 1:1 direct comparison with the oblivion remaster.
I would not at all be surprised if they intentionally released an official Oblivion remaster incredibly close to the Skyblivion release, and they will probably make a pointless yet significant update to Skyrim on the eve of the release, just like they did with Fallout London and the "next gen" Fallout 4 update. Petty Todd
It was suppose to come out a couples years ago but got delayed because of the pandemic
Skyblivion will receive a crazy amount of downloads. It would be insane if it's numbers reach as high as skyrim itself.
I suspect the Oblivion remake/remaster won't fix any of Oblivion's problems, which were pretty numerous. Skyblivion will.
Im worried BGS will get a cease and desist order put on the Skyblivion team. Cuz why compete?
todd howard heard about skyblivion and got super jelly
Big time jelly
You mean you didn't like the 13th special, special, extra special version of Skyrim? Haha... glad someone in this comment has a level head.
But Bethesda *does* love modders. Who else is going to fix their games for them?
Who else's money can they steal?

It's going to be a huge embarrassment to Bethesda when Skyblivion is better than their remaster.
Skyblivion over the Bethesda version everytime!

It will be funny if Skyblivion is the actual remaster and has been under wraps for the longest time, and actually wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility.

There’s a third option, though not exactly the same, it’s Project Cyrodiil for Morrowind.

I have been following them for years too so Skyblivion gets my vote and attention... they earned it. Also we have to wonder what level of DEI and Wokeness injection we will see from Bathesda. If they just update the engine and mechanics then great. But think they will mess with it content and story wise and thats a nope for me.
@Bravo21 at least you're honest that your opinion is based on the fear of gay people and not the actual quality of games

They'll both shine in different ways, I'm looking forward to buying Oblivion again twice (I have a physical copy of Oblivion for PC but I do not have it on steam or a disk drive atm) from what I recall, skyblivion needs you to have oblivion installed just so that you can use the audio from Oblivion
Correction around the six minute mark. The oblivion dlc content will not be available at launch. The base game is being sorted first.
DANGITT haha oh well, at least we get the base game!
If you already own Skyrim SE version you already own Skyblivion. Skyblivion devs said their installer will look for Oblivion so if you dont have it just buy it cheap on the next Steam sale.
What a slap in the face to the Skyblivion team and community if they do end up remastering it.
I don’t have a PC to play Skyblivion but I won’t be playing the official remaster if they do release it, especially after how Starfield turned out
Always good to see you tyler. And I agree with all this btw, big slap
The issue is Skyblivion might over shadow the remaster as the difference is chance it will have systems from Skyrim.
Skyblivion will be the BEST Thing that happen in 2025, manny thanks to alle the Developer and volunteers of the projekt!
I heard it may even be a remake and not just a remaster... this would be huge!
I think that’s inevitable because the art style makes visual upgrades start looking uncanny
Being honest I would rather play skyblivon when it release then the remake. I love oblivion and the elderscrolls/fallout series but oblivion combat was ass the story was very good though.
Which faction do i go with modders,Bethesda or stormcloaks? 🤔
Full stop.
I'm most likely going to check out both
There is no doubt in my mind Bethesda cannot match the passion of the mod team.
Do you run a local market?
Yes we sell only Granny Smith apples
I’ve been waiting to play oblivion till skyblivion + Skyrim together comes out. I’ll be playing with my brother who has put over 1000 hours into Skyrim so hopefully it’s a great time for both of us who haven’t touched oblivion
Oh man you guys are gonna have a blast. Update me when it comes out! I read every comment so I’ll see it!
I'm REALLY hoping that Bethesda saw the Skyblivion teams progress and brought them in to help bring what they're doing to consoles and this is the result. Has any of the Skyblivion team spine about the Bethesda produced remake?
Im going for Skyblivion. Im not about to let all their hard work go to waste like that
I wont make any criticisms or snap judgements as of yet, but I definitely think this will be a very revealing moment.
You’ve made me even more excited somehow
Which one will run old mods better? I cannot play Oblivion with out my "No Block Recoil" mod I created (first Oblivion mod I made).
Bethesda sabotaged Fallout London, so...
That still pisses me off and I don’t even care that much for Fallout lol
@@HorseArmour Business. Those fools are capable of removing anyone from the path, even large companies full of people. I personally am not waiting for a single project, because there is old Oblivion and a lot of high tech mods. I firmly believe that Bethesda will not try to sabotage old Oblivion with some lousy code called an update... or Skyrim.
I personally appreciate skyblivion way more. Will definitely play through both.
An official Oblivion remaster will still have a monopoly on the larger console market. So I doubt Bethesda sees Skyblivion as a competitor.
BGS didn't do the remake. Another studio did.
If they keep Mark as a scenario author, remake will be a slop
i will always prefer the modders version...
so idk if you've heard but some guys from skyblivion said bethesda helped them with certain stuff, which makes me think skyblivion IS the remaster
It is a shame that Skyblivion took so long that Bethesda's 10 year dev cycle actually caught up to them.
Bethesda's 10 year cycle doesn't include remasters
They handed it to another studio to rush it out quickly.
@@deficientfaith7448 What do you mean quickly? It's been in the works for years. According to the roadmap, it was suppose to come out in 2022 but got delayed because of the pandemic
I don't think one will overshadow the other. It's Bethesda's game and they have the right to do whatever they want with it including fill it full of pink gay elephants. The people capable of actually installing a 3rd party mod will absolutely do so regardless of how good or crap the official release is and that's the way it should be.
Bethesda would have earned so major points by putting resources (couple deus, couple artists) into skyblivion.
What if Bethesda remaster of Oblivion is just a tribue to Skyblivion, I mean they will just officially announce Skyblivion
Modders can take this as their cue to quit wasting their time and instead put their talents to good use, working together to make their own game from scratch.
I don't think bethesda purposly timed their remaster to go against skyblivion since they were planning to make an oblivion remaster for a while as seen in the microsoft leak from years ago, which has been pretty accurate.
It's absolutely shameful how they decide to remaster oblivion and release it around the same time as skyblivion. When if it wasnt for skyblivion they probably wouldn't of remastered it.
