Vivi taught Luffy that, to bow down and thank someone to show both humility and gratitude. It’s great to see how people influence and shape how Luffy behave as the show goes on! Luffy is a nice and simple guy, he never really change but he sure grow and develop! It’s one of many joys I feel in the show. The Luffy that sat out on his adventure and the Luffy that reached Sabaody are 100% the same Luffy, but how they handle different situations are different, because Luffy learns (and I wanna say ‘matures’ despite still being a silly fun-loving guy) and I always love seeing the influence people Luffy loves have on him! Luffy will always be Luffy, he just learns and remember lessons from his past and use them to be a more genuine self… Lol, I’m rambling 😅 I could gush and talk about the straw hats (and some people who aren’t part of the crew) for days 😂

Can you imagine Moria trying to fight Kizaru? lmao This is all to say that... at least as of where we are right now, Vice Admirals are roughly on equal footing with Warlords of the Sea, so this guy is ostensibly on equal footing combat prowess-wise with Hancock.. and despite that, he is still much more wary of her than she is of him. The thing is, Vice-Admirals are honestly a great concept because there's no telling what to expect of their morals, convictions, and strengths to be, unlike the Admirals who are more fleshed out, or should I say more "surface-level" as we know they're the three powerhouses of the Navy, which we already expect greatness from. 😆
Nami came to a place where they know a lot about of the weather and how to manipulate it, Franky to a former working place of the best technical genius in the world. Luffy coming to Amazon Lily fills in the same line. What Luffy needs to learn are better fighting skills, and Kuma send him to a place where they have great knowledge about HAKI. Of course coming to all this places is bound with risks - for same greater than others, e.g. Nami seems to have landed in an absolutely peaceful place while Luffy was in thread to be killed.

Oda is not at all shy about telling his readers that he just made stuff up on the fly. You're going to meet a TON of very important characters soon, and they were all improvised. I think Oda just likes challenging his writing skills.
