Mate could you cover FC Basel some day? From taking scalps in Europe and winning 8iar to nearly getting relegated. They're on their way back to the good times again!

My team Hajduk, the refusal to join serie A during facist Italian occupation, players leaving instead to fight with partizans then refusing Tito offer to move to Belgrade - known in Dalmacija as Dišpet

Velibor Vasović, the underrated player who inspired Franz Beckenbauer to be an offensive sweeper in 1966 when Bayern will tactically change from a 2-3-2-3 to a 4-2-4 with Franz as an extra midfielder when Bayern has the ball. After 1966, Velibor will continue his exploits with the ambitious Ajax and will be an important element in the development of their total football (the offside trap, the pressing, the leadership). He's the Ajax captain when they win their 1st European Cup in 1971.

Partizan was a military club, and it was one of top European teams up to that 66 final. But it was also big underachiever domestically even before that final. And the reason is club inner disunity because different generals influenced club and split the dressing room in warring factions. That year they almost went out of first Yugoslav league because of infighting off the pitch and coach had no authority, team picked itself.
And in some documentary ~10y ago still alive players said they were also unlucky in the final because they think they were the better team than Real, same way they said United was better than them but unlucky in semi-final.
