i've been having a lot of problems/confusion with placing ads lately, so pls let me know in the replies how many ad breaks you got during this video! please only count the amount of times it cut to ads, not each individual ad you got (for example: if you got 1 ad before the video and then another break mid-video where 2 ads played back-to-back, that would be only 2 breaks total) i hope this makes sense lmao
adding cornstarch will give you a gravy like texture while pasta water will give you more of a brothy creamy texture it also helps bring everything together
I highly recommended adding white beans to pasta! The taste matches perfectly and it’s quite common in italian cooking. I love making gnocchi with gigante beans because they are the same size as gnocchi and have a very nice texture
I always watch your videos before I make my grocery list! I feel like your way of cooking is so accessible, both for finding most ingredients in my small town grocery store and for the amount of time/energy it takes to cook.
honestly tofu scrambled up in a red sauce over pasta is pretty good - it makes kinda like a bolognese type thing. Not like fine dining but as a lazy girl dinner it's pretty good
IDK if you are open to suggestions or not, but if you don't have time to marinade the tempeh just throw some barbecue sauce and soy sauce, oil and water into the pan with it and cook it until it evaporates (??) and gets sticky! sooo good!!
14:45 I LOVE the shirt you’re wearing so much especially with that necklace!! Another option for zucchini + bananas is zucchini bread. Doesn’t taste like zucchini at all and it’s so so delicious!!!
this is random but is your kitchen always clean or is it for the vids? it always looks so nice and tidy for as much as you cook and spend time in the kitchen
if u add cornstarch water (mix the water and cornstarch seperate so that you can control the thickness more) instead of straight up corn starch- yes there is a bit diffrence but tbh not much taste n texture wise after everything is done
The starch water from pasta is from the flour of it. You can definitely use cornstarch (cause is way easier to dissolve than flour) it’ll just have a different texture, more like a chinese sauce
if I have a lot of onions, i chop them up and throw them in the freezer and then shake out how much I need when I`m cooking. Side note: they don`t caramelize very well but other then that they are still great
The pasta water helps the sauce adhere to the pasta by making it have the same kind of starches in it I definitely don't think cornstarch or just plain water like others are suggesting would do anywhere near the same thing
In the uk we have tiny pickled white onions called silver skins and bigger ones too always whole always as long a cold snack treat after Chrimbo dinner…. Or down the local boozer with a porky pie xx
Hi Emily!! Long time viewer first time commenter -- I love your videos ^.^ In your last "what I've been eating recently" video, I saw that you bought matcha you didn't end up loving. When that happened to me, I would add the matcha powder to my banana smoothies! It adds a nice flavor and is harder to tell tbat the matcha isn't the best.
Just pick up the done pasta with your tongs and put it directly into the sauce. Pasta water comes with it when you do so solves the problem of "remembering to save some of the water" and plus saves on a whole ass dish to wash which is the dreaded colander. Saves time on cooking too as ill make the sauce while pasta is cooking. Win win win win.
Dried textured soy protein is really good for putting in pasta sauce. It’s pretty cheap and pantry stable. I find it has like a ground “meat” vibe. Would recommend.
In my last meal prep i put zucchini to cook with potatoes and make puree from both and I could taste the vegetably flavor, but not too much, but it's an idea to also eat more vegetables...
You could always Chicago up the chili to serve over spaghetti! Add a little cinnamon, maybe a skosh of chocolate, boom - Chicago style chili, meant to be served over spaghetti. And you could try a corn starch slurry, it would be super useful if you shook it together inside the empty sauce jar specifically to get the last of the sauce off the sides. Anyways, I got four ad breaks (one before, two during, one after) and today I'm having a taco bowl with homemade pico, minestrone, and pancakes. Not in that order, probably, but you get it.
Pink hair looks amazing on you! I always dye my hair and don't like it... then decide I liked it months later when I have dyed it another colour... I have been looking for an excuse so maybe mine will be pink for barbie too!
Have you ever tried tarragon vinegar for your onions? 🤔 I wonder if that might be good 🤔 Never knew that it was such a thing - Heinz tarragon vinegar, unless you want to make your own tarragon vinegar, that would be cheaper I guess !
You should try making a tempeh bacon and marinate it in liquid smoke, soy sauce, maple syrup, etc. Whole Foods has a smokey tempeh sandwich that’s delicious and it tastes just like it!
Oh, the vegan problem, a theory: I spent some time in NYC and the theft of vegan specialty items is so out of control, stores put the items at the front entrance where there is some beefy security and cameras. They don’t stop people and have like a small country’s worth of people to bring into custody. It’s mostly the health oriented orthorexic driving up the prices. Trader Joe’s stopped selling so many vegetarian products as well, it’s no longer a profitable market for them. There is a similar market for meats, where people use their skills to rob grocery stores and then sell them for pure profit. The technique usually involves a small hostage crisis where the assailant is allowed to abscond with the goods because if they get caught (and released over the petty criminal charge) they will simply go home and murder someone. If I can’t get my hands on that vegenaise, I’ll put my hands on grandma. That is just a glass of my opinion.
She's just feeding herself and capturing that. She's not pushing it on anyone. But good to know what your triggers are, maybe avoid for now because Emily often makes her meals this way
A lot of the time I just add premade lentils and some ground up walnuts to my sauce while heating it for the protein boost. I should start adding zook-mush too 🤌🏼

3 total (1 before vid, 1 mid roll, 1 end of vid)
Only 2 for me (pre and post vid)
2 ad breaks, 1 at beginning and 1 in the first half
i got 3: one before video, one in first half, one at the end of the video
I got 4 ad breaks: one at the beginning, one at 11 minutes, one at 19 minutes, and one at the end
She is the only TH-camr whom I don’t mind watching her whole process of cutting up of onions
My dog heard the banana snap off the bunch at 12:41 and immediately got up to try and find the hidden fruity treat she thought i was keeping from her
i marinate my tempeh in soy sauce & maple syrup & garlic powder and it’s unreasonably good
I add liquid smoke to mine too 😋

i add some textured vegetable protein to pasta… easy… not accessible necessarily but they have it at TJs now
If you get that chili tvp thing again you could make like a goulash/chili Mac situation with vegan cheese and chopped veg
14:45 I LOVE the shirt you’re wearing so much especially with that necklace!! Another option for zucchini + bananas is zucchini bread. Doesn’t taste like zucchini at all and it’s so so delicious!!!
you are genuinely so funny without even trying (ps i only got the ad break at the beginning)
Oopsies oopsies OOPSIES 😂 That’s how I feel every day when I’m cooking
I make lentil pasta all the time and it slaps
Honestly if you forget the pasta water just tap water on its own is fine. Like it’s not a big deal. It’s water!😌

Agreed on the mushrooms. I don’t want to eat composted manure, but I’m cool with water so it’s an easy choice.

emily asmr to lure me in to a nap
i had 3 ad breaks, also for spaghetti i usually use protein pasta or lentils & i think lentils work rlly well nd a good pantry staple
✨️l e n t i l t a c o s✨️
That is the primary reason I keep lentils in my pantry.
In the uk we have tiny pickled white onions called silver skins and bigger ones too always whole always as long a cold snack treat after Chrimbo dinner…. Or down the local boozer with a porky pie xx

your hair is nice! i love that color on you
frozen carrot in smoothies is such a good idea????? another video i absolutely love 💖💖

My favorite TH-camr ❤
I’m in Canada if that means anything, but no ad breaks during the whole of your video
LMAOOO love this. Specifically the spaghetti segment because this is how I cook 😅
I love so much your videos! 😍
my favorite way to cook tempeh is on the stove with soy sauce, hot sauce, and maple syrup - you should def try that
YAY a new video, this made my day :)
love putting on your video when I need to cook so I can cook with someone
That looks so easy to make and delicious too 😋 I think I will give it a try 👍

Have you heard about the limited edition mustard Skittles? Sadly we can;t get them in the UK
I do the same thing with bananas!! 🍌I think they are really dirty from people handling them.
i miss your twitch streams😭😭😭
I love ✨long onion✨
I'm from Cincy amd I approve of chili on spaghetti 🍝 😌
Re: the chili spaghetti, there is Cincinnati chili. I’m sure the awareness arrived in time.
“Lord, I am a sinner, a sinner, a sinner of attention”
I feel the same about banana skins 😝

Barbie 😲 ?
Actual bacon > tempeh
so weird to comment cuz i never even said it was supposed to be bacon
Please turn to Jesus he loves you so much and died on the cross for you and your family and friends
19:20 22:20 you can obess over having stereotypical "balance" at every meal but i would greatly appreciate if you didn't push that on other people.
this is such an insane comment
@@mikayla7860 have you ever had an eating disorder?
