    Hi Derek! Both pumpkins look awesome. You both did such a a great job!
    Fajitas are named after the type of beef traditionally used. Very thin sliced and seasoned beef. A plant based version can be made with anything, soy curls, mushrooms, tofu, etc.
    Burrito comes from Northern Mexican and is just refried beans, meat, or what ever in a flour tortilla wrap. You can make a burrito out of fajitas. I hope that makes sense. 😊

  • @dianeschuller
    @dianeschuller 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Derek, adding the tahini to your sauce is perfect. I do that too but most of the time it's been Mexican or the Asian style sauces. I hope you're still using tahini that way. I also use it instead of peanut butter in my baking. Both of your pumpkins are really great -- you're both winners!

    Here's what I do when I want anything with a tomato sauce base on it. This is also quick. Just add a jar of sauce to pot then blend in a Nutri-bullet/Vitamix some water, garlic, nutritional yeast, spices/herbs if you want them plus nuts of choice. I use 1/4 c. cashews most of the time and then add that to the pot of tomato sauce and you're in business! Cuts way down on the acidity of the jarred sauces plus adds a creaminess that's delicious. Ratios are up to you plus you can also add other meat replacements like soy curls/etc.

    Wow! Those pumpkin are fabulous!! I saw a new way of looking at pumpkin carving that I thought was ingenious. The guy cut the bottom out instead of the top. You sit the candle on the "lid" and just put the pumpkin over top. Seemed easier.

    Derek, you live in such a beautiful place, thank you for sharing! It's a blessing to live where you can appreciate the seasons! You and Crystal are adorable & my favorite TH-cam couple!! But I have to say, given all of your great recipes & delish content, it hurts my heart to see you use store bought salsa/pico de gallo. :( You can make some AmaZing salsa concoctions of your own, I believe in YOU!! It is my 1 request to see you bang out a killer salsa recipe all your own, PLEASE consider this, you will rock it - no doubt! Also, no beans in fajitas v burritos & fajitas are usually served on a sizzling hot plate, as some differences in those dishes. Keep the fabulous content coming! Blessed Be!!!

    Derek, thank you for the apple cinnamon oatmeal recipe! I made something similar to it in a crock pot and it was amazing! I used steel cut oats and I included some soy milk in it (for extra protein and creaminess) for about a third of the liquid. I omitted the dates, because of blood sugar issues, but it seemed sweet enough with just the apples. And I like my nuts on top, so I kept those aside. I think I made six servings, three of which I kept in the fridge and the rest I tucked into the freezer. I could have made more, but coring and chopping apples is not my really my jam. One thing I like about the crock pot method is that the oatmeal is unlikely to burn in that, whereas I have a hard time with oatmeal sticking to the pan and/or burning on the stove top. I imagine this could also be done in an instant pot, for those who have one handy. I just wanted to share that for anyone who is short on time and looking to make a big batch of it.

They don’t sell them anymore. I bought a short container, I find it easier to get the food out. It’s a bit smaller in volume as well but not by that much.

In college they always told us some wild mushrooms are poisons to eat, some are poisons to touch, and others are completely safe. There are a crazy variety of mushrooms and so if your not a expert I was told in college don't touch it unless your 100% sure of what it is.
