CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Mona Lisa (Marisa Tomei) disagrees with Vinny's (Joe Pesci) decision to go deer hunting with the D.A.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
When sweet Northern college kid Bill (Ralph Macchio) and his buddy Stan (Mitchell Whitfield) are picked up and thrown into the slammer in a hick Southern town, at first it looks like no big deal. Then they are informed that they are accused of murder. Penniless and without a single friend in the area, Bill decides to call his goofy cousin Vinny (Joe Pesci), who has somehow recently become a lawyer. Full of family feeling and bravado, Vinny, who has never tried a criminal case in his short life as a lawyer, rides south to defend his trusting relative. He's an expert motormouth and street-level logician from the wilder reaches of metropolitan New York, complete with a thick accent and the attitude to go with it. Otherwise, he's much less well qualified than your average public defender. When he arrives on the scene with his equally brassy girlfriend Lisa (Marisa Tomei), Bill is fairly sure he's going to be sentenced to death. His buddy Stan is even less confident of his legal representative, if that's possible, and the first thing Vinny has to do is to regain the consent of his clients to represent them. The local judge doesn't seem any too sympathetic to Vinny's verbal shenanigans either, and even the most optimistic supporter of the boys would begin to have doubts at this point -- and Vinny's no exception. With the insistent moral encouragement of his girlfriend, Vinny somehow accomplishes the impossible and wins grudging (if very irritated) respect from all concerned, for once studying as if his life depended on it.

When she won the Oscar for this, a lot of people laughed and said she didn't deserve it. In hindsight, she absolutely deserved it.
wut? she won an oscar for this movie???
not to mention how drop dead gorgeous she is with the attitude and the accent love me some Marisa Tomé
They laughed mainly because she was from a comedy film (i.e., a genre not well-regarded by the Academy) and the others were from high-brow dramas (i.e., Oscar-bait). Even today, there still exists a bias against comedic movies/performances.
She's really good, but I'm not sure about the Oscar.
musicaltheatergeek79 The bias against current comedies is very much deserved.
Growing up in NY and pretty much just dating Italian girls, Marissa Tomei completely nailed this role. It was like watching my old girlfriends on the big screen. Perfect.
@Speed Services You have Italian guys dating Irish girls. It's all good :)
My dads Irish, hence my name and moms Italian. Bronx was Irish and Italian and Jews.
Or jewish girls. it was seriously hard to tell the difference.
Growing up in basically where this movie took place, Marisa Tomei has made me jealous of you.
@Speed Services My father was Irish, my mother Italian. We lived on Long Island.
It's hard to steal a scene from Joe Pesci, but she did it.
Oh but she did , 😂
@Splint Meow That sounds like a you problem.
@koala2007 "What is a Yute?"
"Excuse me, your honor. A YOUUUUU problem."
She did! A few times in this movie.
@Splint Meow WHAAAAT? 🤷♂️
a sweet.... innocen'... harmless... leaf-eatin'... doe-eyed... dee-aah???
The delivery of this line is absolutely priceless.
She's a Grown Woman who has Mafia attitude but a soft kid friendly spot for cute little deers.
I defy any heterosexual man not to fall utterly in love with Marisa Tomei in this movie.
Dear me, Pesci must have thought he struck gold.
Or today either...
Yeah, sorry to disappoint you.
Often wondered that myself!
Word!
@@leom5671 the guy said "heterosexual".
The producer of this movie somehow captured lightning in a bottle. It was a perfect cast, a perfect setting, serious drama, suspense, and belly-laugh humor.
Perfect delivery a Punchline ISN'T ANYTHING...without the perfect delivery😅❤ They acted these funny lines out SOOOO Good.
This video is saved in my favourite playlist for reason.
She totally deserved the Oscar for this performance. She NAILED it !
I am old enough to have watched this movie when it first came out in an enormous, packed movie theater and the place roared with laughter after she delivered that line about his pants and many people spontaneously applauded too! What a funny movie with a very talented cast!
She won an Oscar.
+AMDFX 99 ARGH!
And deservedly, I might add.
She was also nominated 3 times: This film, The Wrestler and In the Bedroom. Pesci won Oscar for best supporting actor in Goodfellas. He was also nominated for best supporting actor in Raging Bull. I've seen all these films except In the Bedroom, which I most likely will never see as it's not my type of film lol
i knew captain obvious would show up
poseetraction
This piece of acting by Marisa Tomei is absolutely priceless. Pure brilliance.
She is ridiculously HOTT! Perfect in all ways
She's definitely gorgeous.
her accent is so hot!!!! I love Italian girls with New York Accents.
Ya think?
T C dude I would give her so many babies
I think that has been established by every other comment in every video she is in.
It's so obvious why she won an Oscar for this role. Every time I see this scene I crack up. She was amazing in this.
This whole movie is a masterpiece. From beginning to end.
"He got a bo-ah, a be-ah, a couple a dee-ah."
WHOA, YA GUNNA SHOOT UH DEEAH?!
That's Brooklyn for ya
a sweet doe-eyed little dee-yah
And they also got a CAU , a MOTHA , and a FATHA
2:00 I love how quick and precise she was. She went from 0-60 in less than a split second.
I love how Joe Pesci jumps when she says "Baam"
And his facial expression as he just stares at her with his mouth open ...
totally bet that was a first take and a legit reaction, in that moment he knew she'd win and Oscar
I like when he's looking at tge floor for brains
I’ve got to get around the thought of taking my eye off Marisa to see his reaction.... I just can’t seem to do it.
Cz😊.w.0wp@@kauskommentator4145
"Would you give a f... what kind a pants the son of a bitch was wearing?"
+lockbert99 It's a great line!
Now I aks ya........
Oh no! He's going to shoot a DEAH!
Angus Miller The guy will lose respect for me.. you rather have that ?
And after that, maybe a boah or a beah.
More like "he's gunna shoot a deeyuh"
“Ya goin hun-tin?” They should have given her the Oscar for just that line
They did
She is the heart of the movie 👌
if she had been in the Disney universe, Bambi's mother would still be alive
In reality, the movie Bambi changed the hunting industry big time!! Wives went all Marissa Tomei on their husbands. Hunting had supposedly been the number one guy activity. Even higher than golf.
Her version of Aunt May is part of the Disney MCU, so that's pretty close.
David Rodriguez is right! I read that when Bambi first came out, hunters were protesting because the movie made them look bad and portrayed them like they’re the villain!
and if this were the Goodfellas universe, Vinny was looking at Tuddy's pants
@@jculver1674 I can imagine Marissa Tomei as Snow White.
They don’t make movies like this anymore. Such a shame. A classic!
Actually yeah they do they just used a different movie name and actors and stuff because what's the point in making a movie that is already made?
@@charleshicks9440 u don't get it Charles. So sorry u don't understand
Oldhead
@@gregstiso9401I don’t think Charles gets it at all lol. They don’t make movies this good anymore.
little deer lips lol Tomei is incredible in this film
Vinny looks down like "my brains..." and it's just 😂😂😂
Listening to her would definitely make my brain hurt. 😳🔫
*Tommy DeVito downvoted this*
Her deer monologue is just fantastic.
I love the face Joe Pesci makes when she’s describing the blood and guts of the deer. Lmao
Also the eye roll at 1:22 when she describes the deer "Sweet little innocent doe eyed . . . "
She unquestionably deserved Oscar for this movie.
This is my favorite scene in the movie. My sisters and I had it memorized and would recite it whenever the movie was on, whenever someone mentioned the movie, or whenever anyone mentioned hunting.
He wore those pants to go hunting and he was laughed at by all the deer
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Farside toon.
Oh man , she deserved this award 5 times over!
Marisa so deserved the best supporting actress in this film.
This is my favorite scene of the movie!
+Caroline Coyle
Marissa isn't wearing anything revealing though. that scene with the biological clocking ticking like this has her in a skin tight dress. i can see every curvature in her figure. hnnnnnnnnnngh! you see joe pesci pick up that little dress and throw it at 0:36 which foreshadows i'm about to get an erection
This scene and the screech owl scene are a few of the best I think, they made the movie.
I liked the dripping faucet scene.
Marisa's Oscar win was 100% deserved! What an actress, wow!!! A live firecracker.
A fabulous, very original story and brilliant acting...Pesci and Tomei were absolutely stellar in this....I think I am going to watch it again, right now !
One of those movie you can watch over and over. Never gets old
First time I saw this scene I was crying laughing. Marisa Tomei is brilliant in this scene
“Imagine you’re a dea-ah”
Say what you want, but she deserved that Oscar.
Dude this scene never gets old! She makes me laugh every time! Nailed it!
I want a girl who can talk rough to me like this
my gf is exactly like this. I love her to pieces but man it gets annoying some times lol.
Joyzee
You need me hahaha😂😂😂
that is true! we are exactly like this
Find one who doesn't own a cell phone. Good luck, wrong era.
2020 mid-covid and she still absolutely kills it.
The way she walks from the bed to the room ….. 😂😂😂😂😂 now I am gonna ‘AKS’ you … how can you not love that performance ! 😂😂😂
Joe Pesci, and Marisa Tomei have great chemistry.
The way she pronounces 'deer', that right there, is the Oscar.
She was magnificent. simply magnificent. I loved this movie because of her and her alone.
The reason why I love this movie is because of this woman and nothing else.
But there’s so many other things to love about this movie
And Joe Pesci
I love Marisa Tomei but there's other things to love about the movie, too
@@LaurenAtTenn yeah, the interaction between pesci and tomei was insanely funny
This movie is one of the all time greats. This scene was great too.
this is how Aunt May looks like when she was a rebellious Teenager back then.
Not overly familiar with her but either way, the role she portrayed in this movie was her acting masterpiece.
That part about pants is gold
Marisa Tomei is one of prettiest women of all time, even today in her 50's she looks gorgeous.
I used to mock this scene for my family members all the time. I have this weird ability to mimick almost any accent I hear after I've heard it a few times. My family used to crack up every time I did it. 😂😂😂
Marisa is such an amazing and underrated actress.. I need to see her in more movies/shows ASAP
Omg Marisa Tomei♥♥♥
I’ve watched this scene 30,000 times - still my favorite
I used to think she did not deserve her Oscar but after seeing her in other roles and revisiting this film 15 years later I change my mind. She is an acting master, ESO in this. If Judy Holiday and Joe Pesci had a child, you would Marissa Tomei. Pretty hard to out " Jersey " Joe Pesci but she does it in spades.
+oldgraphics What a dateloaf!
They don't make 'em like this anymore.
"Ya goin' hun-tin?!" "A dee-ah?!" "Now, I axe ya..." And people wonder why I and millions of others fell in love with Marisa Tomei after watching this...
Goes without saying Joe Pesci a big favourite of mine since Goodfellas. This quirky, talented and beautiful woman stormed her way to an Oscar for her part in this film, and I doubt anyone else could have come close to her portrayal of a dumb blond brunette with the superb automotive knowledge that won the court case for Pesci.
This and Kevin Kline in a "Fish Called Wanda" are two of the funniest supporting performances of all time.....both deserved their Oscars
Don't call me stupid !!!!
They need to give Marisa Tomei the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award just for this movie
She is by far the best part of the movie and the best performance by any of the actors. Thinking that someone was thinking of removing her.
I absolutely love the way they talk
Penelope _xo because most nj accented people have moved to nj from ny. It's a mix of ny accent and an Italian accent. It's easy to mimic
David Ciaburri Black people in NY talk like that too... Cardi B talks like that
Probably Northern Jersey cuz nobody down south Jersey talk like that. It has more of the Philly accent.
bk accent
Joe is from Belleville
My dying words will be “Vinny had some nice pants” 😂
She's absolutely gorgeous in this movie
she earned the oscar for this scene alone LOL
I LOVE how she loves that deer she’s never even met.
It is not about the deer, but about all deers
She'd love the dee-ah even more in a hamburger bun.
It's called caring for animals, most people aren't sickos who enjoy killing animals for fun.
@@Blaydoner You don't know the first thing about forest management, or hunters, or hunting. Whatsoever.
We've (rightly) killed off the predators. As they are a danger to us and our livestock.
We not only have a sovereign right to hunt, and the responsibility to keep our wits keen, and the ability to hunt in our cultures, but we also have an obligation to fill the ecologically required niche of apex predator.
@@DUCKDUCKGOISMUCHBETTER Deers are a danger to you and your livestock? 😂 i understand what you mean by killing Foxes etc to save your chickens but hunting deers is unnecessary, you can't deny there are people who kill animals for fun.
Aunt May arguing with Uncle Ben in their younger days, Pre-Peter days.
this is how she acts
in homecoming. may scold peter about why he skipped detention and got in trouble and then she confesses about her story as she was also a troublemaker too. she also got in trouble for skipping classes
this is what she looks like before peter was even born
She rightly deserves Oscar for her role.
That's one of the best scenes in movie history.
This woman is divine ! a goddess !
I have watched this movie many times and it always entertains its an absolute masterpiece from beginning to end.
Marisa Tomei is everything in this movie. Props to writers as well.
She makes a good point would you care about the pants. That they were wearing lmao
That segment was worthy of an oscar.
LMAO JOE PESCI EXPRESSION IS PRICELESS WHEN TOMEI SAYS BAM LOL
2:00 LOL HIS FACE
This reminds me of my high school girlfriend. I was from Iowa and she was this Italian chick from Cleveland. God damn she was the best thing that ever happened to me. I should have married that chick. Honestly she was a clone of Tormei.
never too late
Now she is old and wrinkled, and the charming high pitched voice is ruined by 2 decades of cigarettes.
I'd still hit.... better than 90% of the skanks in Cali young or old
Always marry an italian😏 God I got a knack for italians.
Italian-American women are firecrackers but they are (usually) great wives, great mothers and great cooks. And also fully competent in their own convictions. My grandma was more of a pistol than Marisa, and my mom a more refined, articulate version but they were full of love and motivation
You can wash away how bad Jennifer Lawrence's Long Island accent was in American Hustle with Marisa Tomei's sweet Brooklyn accent.
Margot Robbie's Brooklyn accent in Wolf of Wall Street was great, too.
+thaddeus FrankenCow There's more to acting than being good looking
Nobody's arguing that, it's the fact she gets hyped for being hot
Zain Jarjis True.. There are moments when I feel some people unnecessarily bully Lawrence for being famous..
Marisa Tomei is born and raised in Brooklyn, but ,of course, not all people in Brooklyn talk like that.
She is just so beautiful. I was instantly in love when I first watched this. Even in her old age she aint half bad.
She's absolutely gorgeous !!
Anybody who thinks she doesn't deserve this Oscar has never watched this movie. She could have won it for this scene alone.
Absolutely agree.
Still my favorite movie clip of all time.
What a great clip so much in it. The unsaid stuff. But I love the way she says 'dear'.
Saw this movie for the 1st time today. Loved it and this was my favorite scene. Judging by the comments below, I'm not the only one who fell in love with Marisa Tomei😍
She is so good in this movie!
The absolute one of the best parts in the movie!😍
Is there an Oscar for jaw dropping beauty?
One of the very best comedy..she rocks,,
In 2008 I went by a Catholic Church in San Francisco and and saw a group of Italian Americans who had just celebrated a baptism. It struck me that they looked like Italians from the 1950s. Same way of dressing, of celebrating a religious rite, all elderly grandparents present.
By contrast, being Italian myself, it always struck me how Italian Americans from Manhattan and Long Island were something totally original, a breed apart from us Italians. These films have forever photographed being Italian American.
2020... I'm watching The King of Staten Island.... And I think, 'This actress is great."
And then it's Marisa Tomei and Badda Bing Badda Boom! I'm watching My Cousin Vinnie and falling in love all over again.
I was gonna say she’s should’ve won an Oscar for this 😂😂😂
I'm sure they had to do this scene a few times, I guarantee there was laughter.
The way she bobs her head at 1:17 is *PRICELESS* 🤣🤣🤣
There aren't many areas in which we Italians know how to excel.
But in gesticulating, no one beats us.
I had never even heard of Marisa Tomei before this movie, by the end of it I was in love with her. still a fan.
This is the scene that they should have shown at the Oscar's. That line may be the funniest one in the movie.
This needed a sequel.
doctadeath2020 some movies are not meant to have sequals.
Damn aunt Mae and uncle Ben had a crazy life before Spider-Man😂😂
I love my cousin vinny!!!
Prabjeet Kaur One of my favorite movies of all time.
Thats wifey right there! Where can i find one like her?
