still have my 2010 Epi '57 goldtop reissue, pretty close spec'd with this 50s, replaced the stock 57 pickups with DiMarzios... keep going back to that goldtop, although I have other singlecuts. Greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾🤘🏼
I have the Slash 'Victoria' and I absolutely love it. Same guitar without pickguard. I understand why your friend wanted his repaired. Mine is the last guitar I would ever part with! 18:50
Got my eye on the Victoria. Can't justify the Gibson price, though I own other Gibsons. Do you rate the Epiphone Victoria? I think they look / sound awesome from what I have seen on videos etc. I love gold tops and I'm so tempted!
I have that same guitar and I love mine too (got it used for $400), ended up putting Phat Cat P90's in it and it is amazing. Not sure I would have kept with that crack but glad the tech could make it good a new. They are Heavy but I dig the fat neck
Nice , I like the way you point out every little detail of the guitar. All of the pluses and negative's . I was thinking about getting one of these Epiphone 50's standard . I like the weight, the chunkier neck and the price point. Where do you rate this epi 50's guitar ,compared to a Epiphone 59 or a epi slash , even the Epiphone wino jj. Top 5 build quality maybe ?
Impact damage from shipping? The bodies are so heavy if the package is dropped headstock first is usually when this happens. Happened to me recently and sent back for exchange.
I received today my epiphone Slash goldtop and I also had a similar problem in the same place with the nut in the wrong position. With this video, I end up wondering if the problem is really due to bad luck
Hate the veneer on the back, why don't Epiphone just book match the wood pieces like many of the cheaper competition brands do. The Epi Pro bucker PAF style PUs sound v good.
Most of the times with used Gibson guitars yes. On a new guitar not so often. With the Alpine White LP Custom Gibson it is a common cosmetic issue with the nitro.
Wouldn't that repair be quite expensive? Or would he possibly get Epiphone to pay for the repair or part of it? I have two older Epiphones with that same cracked neck.
I am trying to find such case here in Ukraine but can find. I want it to be pink inside. I've also tried to find in somewhere in Europe but haven't succeed either. Do you know how to find such one?
Yeah, here you go. This one is even better because it looks like the early 90s LP Custom cases with the blankets over the guitar: www.thomann.de/intl/gator_gwlpbrown.htm
I just got a Standard 50's and love the guitar. Especially the neck, it's currently at my guitar tech's, getting a third (middle) pickup installed.
A very bold mod. Interesting
@GeorgeVGuitars I'll let you know how it turns out! Still waiting for my tech to finish the job.
Do you like Ace Frehley? He had 3 pickups but only the bridge one actually worked.
This is isolated case?

@@DannyGuitarIt is the best Les Paul I have ever played. Comes with Custombuckers that sound great! I love it and its the last guitar I would let go.

I had the phat cat in a couple of guitars. Good choice 🤘🏻
Please compare 50's Metallic gold with Epiphone Slash Victoria someday
I think he has a video doing that.
This or the Epiphone LP Custom for humbucker tone? Great video!
The Custom

Send it back to the retailer or at least send them pictures so they know the problem didn't happen later by your fault.
@@GeorgeVGuitars I did it. I am waiting the answer of the retailer since yesterday
@@zetagundam_007 Thats the right thing to do. Hope it works out for you.

Yeah I don't like the veneer stuff too
Sir how much will cost if i buy this guitar in philippine price?because im from the philippines sir, thank you for the answer sir
No idea :/
Around 50k
Even Ace Frehley had the same problem on his Budokan Les Paul and he always had it fixed.
Are u planning to check out the Epi Standard 60s ?
Yeah. The 59 is next. I will find the 60s soon.
If this type of crack was on a Gibson you would expect it to be a finish crack since they don’t use scarf joints?
Most of the times with used Gibson guitars yes. On a new guitar not so often. With the Alpine White LP Custom Gibson it is a common cosmetic issue with the nitro.
I want to know if the flame vaneer is still on the goldtop under the paint? I want a goldtop for my collection 😩
I doubt it
The Slash is mahogany, np veneer.

Epiphone paid, the guitar was under warranty
What case is that?
Gator
Totally unrelated... but is it safe to bring an electric guitar on an airplane without using a hard case?
Absolutely not, unless it is in the seat next to you.
i think neck issue came from hanging on the wall. Solid weight made big preasure on the neck...
