Thank you for your comment. We can't agree with you more. John has so much experience and knowledge. As you can tell from the video. He strives to have good systems. He is also always thinking about how to improve them as he feels it is necessary. His Instagram clearly shows how much he loves to be out finding new trails. Along with taking old ones to connected with mother nature. Thank you Mark (& Teresa)
I have a 2006 LR3 also, John has a super clean functional build so have been following that. His LR4 was solid too. LR3/4 finally getting some love. Not just from the crazy LR enthusiasts haha.
@@davidmscott4409 That's so cool! Thank you so much for sharing. A childhood friend and family Trevor Griffiths owns www.british4x4specialists.com up in Harrisburg PA. Specializes in Landrovers. As a child I remember always enjoying all the British cars (Treasured Motors in Glendon MD back in the day) from the E type Jaguars, Rolls-Royce, Mini S...the list just keeps going. The shop always pique my intrest. Working with Trevor is another friend of mine Andrew Ward. With those kind of connection, I would have thought I'd own my college dream truck the Land Rover 90. Maybe one day..for now it's our 2005 Ford F350 currently being built as a expedition overland flat bed camper. Maybe one day we will get to meet you on the trail. Mark (& Teresa)
Thank you Sis! Glad you liked John's tour. Yes he is extremely full of information. Any one who watches this video will truely learn something new. Mark (& Teresa)
Thank you Chingon Grandpa Adventures! John is so knowledgeable. Not to mention incredible fun to hang out with. He is always changing things up to make them better for his needs. 🙂
FYI I originally put my roof tent on my lr3 with the ladder to the rear and it kind of fits but the tailgate would only open just to my forehead height so I kept banging my head so ended up moving it to the side. You could block it up to get more clearance but it would sit really high.
Thank you Dean for your personal wisdom! I'm not sure if you've seen John has picked up a Mission Overland Camper. Let me say that it is truely amazing. Check it out if you haven't already. th-cam.com/video/WHwS6_yt-ns/w-d-xo.html Thank you for your comment and checking out our channel. Enjoy the great out doors! Mark & Teresa.
I replaced the LR head unit with the Pioneer AVIC8500NEX. It has dual inputs for video and allows me to switch between front and rear, as well as multiple aspects. Most any bullet camera can then be installed and viewed.I’m using Rydeen super wide cameras.
🤣 You got it! That was one of our first interviews. We've come along way since then. But I will tell you John has a lot of great information to share. He will be doing some big changes to his LR3 coming up. We will be sure to share once he gets it all done. Such as his on board Victron solar system... John is on our channel a great deal. So be sure to stay tuned! 😁
I don't know. But we should be seeing John this weekend. So I'll be sure to ask and get back to you. Wait till you see what he has now! Video to come...

How reliable has it been?
@@bradh6185
Mine I have no complains, just normal maintenance.
@brad h it is pretty reliable for a truck with 186k miles…I just keep breaking things 🤪 to be expected given how I use it almost daily!
@johnyslr3 is the man! Great to get more info in this build.
David, have you been out with John? What type of rid do you have?

I have a 2009 LR3 which is on its way to seeing you on the trails up north. Looks like you kept the stock suspension height with 18” wheels!!
2.5 inch rhino lift and using the V6 LR3 wheels! When are you coming this way?
I am really curious how he setup the duel camera system to display on the original infotainment system

Anyone know what mount that is for the iPad?
I've sent your request to John to try to get you the answer your looking for. 😊
@@OutOfOfficeCamping thanks :)
Hello Thomas, John confirmed that the IPad mount is from RAM Mount. It might be this one....

@@OutOfOfficeCamping ok thanks, it looks like it goes down and attaches to the seat might be one of the universal seat mounts ram has.
@Thomas-mf6du I believe you're correct or he had it attacked to the side. He definitely has all the systems! Happy to have helped.
