Mr LAOLU AKANDE Thanks for speaking the minds of many Nigerians who are not privilege to speak on Obasanjo as one the Nigeria problem, and now pretending that others president that comes after him is the problems of Nigerian.
Let Nigerians hold Obasanjo responsible for the problems of Nigeria.
He stop Pa Awolowo from becoming Nigeria president and gave it to Shagari, even his ruling as soldiers in his days.
All that president after him follows his footsteps.
Thank God he is alive to see his leadership foundation which never build Nigeria but destroyed Nigeria, the suffering of Nigerians today is as result of Obasanjo bad governance foundation.
Nigerians should asked him how many poor Nigerians that died in his farm, which he singularly executed because they still either eggs or chickens.
He has a blood of innocent Nigerians in his hand, the facts that those family involved keep silent God is not silent, God purposely keep him alive to see the evil leadership foundation he laid for Nigerians.
God will keep blessing you for saying the truth about Obasanjo.
    Thanks for your platform

As a sitting president, Obasanjo and Atiku built University, Obasanjo spent $16 billion on darkness, Obasanjo converted Govt Farm to his personal farm, Obasanjo held the most corrupt election in the history, Obasanjo impeached four governors for going against him, Obasanjo committed genocide against Odi, Obasanjo removed judges, Obasanjo mandated governors to donate billions for building his Library. e.t.c He refused true federalism, he seized Lagos LG allocations and refused to allow them to generate their own electricity. e.t.c

You are truly correct to me if any president comes into power and wants Nigerians to enjoy Nigeria, they shouldn't borrow money, next thing they should do is arrest all the past president of Nigeria that are still alive and convert all their wealth into Nigeria government pulse and use it to build Nigeria economy, these wicked leaders they are the reason Nigerians are suffering in Nigeria and out side Nigeria,no Nigerians out side Nigeria that are enjoying, based on no place like home, they are out side Nigeria building another country at the end of the day if they died they brought their corpse back to Nigeria and their wealth remained in foreign land.

@@kayskillz7119 No 1 accusation - "Obasanjo and Atiku built university". Are these not universities that were built with money borrowed from the banks and contributions made by close friends and can be verified?
No 2 - "Obasanjo spent $16billion on darkness". Is Nigeria today entirely in darkness? Besides, people who were involved have come forward to show proof that this is inaccurate and obviously misinformation. The real sum is closer to $6billion of which Nigeria still enjoys the benefit of today. How much did Buhari spend?
No 3 - The Obasanjo farm has been in existence since the 70s built from scratch. No 4 - How corrupt can an election be if no soldiers were deployed to intimidate/force voters to vote for a particular party like in 2019 and that of 2023 using thugs this time. No 5, 6, 7 - removed govs, committed genocide, removed judges, all of which also occurred under Buhari's govt during his reign. Mandate of governors to build libraries is impossible under the separation of powers in the constitution. The issue of true federalism is ongoing. Yes, Lagos LG allocations was not paid, but only to those additional 37 LGs that had not being recognised as LGs by the N.Assembly. Finally, tell me pls by what miracle of immense funds can LGs build electricity generating stations to generate their own electricity, when even State govts can't. Is it not because of the extremely high cost of doing so? 😀

The guest hit the nail on the head when he said Obasanjo must take full responsibility for the Present State of the nation. This man served as a Military head of state an civilian president for eight good years. He cannot say that these periods in the history of the country has been the best the country ever had. If he had done what he was supposed to do about the electricity situation in Nigeria in the years he governed the country, darkness will be history in the country today. How can he forget this expectation Nigerians had for him? A leader should be ready to take full responsibility for any short comings or perceived problems, the former president has never admitted to be part of the problems that continue to exist in the country today. Rather he is known to have condemned the efforts made by all his predecessors up till today. Infact, he shut himself on his foot when he takes about bad leadership failure in Nigeria. No American took him serious about his comments because he had the opportunity to govern the country for eleven years as head of state and president. This is the longest time one man has ruled the country and yet thinks he he still relevant. Nigerians need to wake up, start moving away from the analogue leaders and their ideas about the present and future.

Chamberlain and Maupe pretended to come from the cold side of hell to shy away from points made about the elections held during Obasanjo 's time for himself and the one that brought in Yaradua.
They seemed to shy away from who Tinubu addressed the Emilokan to, they also seemed to be ignorant about the rudiments of Nigerians problem initiated during Obasanjo's era as mentioned by Akande.
The moment I saw Chamberlain followed those who interviewed the FCT Minister of recent, I knew he is into stomach infrastructure.
How I wished Obasanjo said; "we are in this together, let us rise to the occasion", it would have been a different ball game, but for the personal vendetta, selfishness (Obasanjo would not want to work with anyone who he cannot dictate to, and doesn't want anyone to be better than him).
"You are not in position to say what you have said" was for him (Obasanjo) to check himself if he was not part of the problem.

I disagree with you no president comes into power that can save Nigeria.
Nigeria as country expires 2014,according to the colonial master agreement that before, Igbos,Yorubas and Hausas can go their separate ways it should be after 100 years, that was the agreement, check back when was Boko Haram,Fulanis Herdsmen and other terrorist organisation emerged in the North, is after 100 years, they knows fully well Nigeria has expired and now their agendas is to Islamize Nigeria reasons all these Bandits happened.
Mark my word before Tinubu tenures expired Nigeria will be divided, if not they will be Islamic war call jihad, and that will leads to tribal wars that will end the country called Nigeria.
Let me gives you this for free,Nigeria is a pillars of all the countries and also Nigerians are the pillars to other countries citizens.
Nigerians are recolonizing other citizens in other countries.

If every president is coming out to tell us solutions now that they have left, wouldn't that amount to unwarranted pontification to excuse themselves. He totally negates true federalism and refused to convey a sovereign national conference, which is very fundamental and foundational. He is only ashamed of what he was part of and exornorating himself unnecessarily.

I commend the interviewers for posing the right questions. Firstly, it is a fallacy to say that we do not have good leaders because they are being chosen through a flawed process or from a moraly flawed society. Are we waiting for a perfect society before getting responsible leaders? So, why will we need a government if we are that perfect society?
It is right that the former president ought to take part of the responsibility for the state of the nation. However, that responsibility to any keen observer is unique in the history of Nigeria and his own trajectory in power. He will realise it sooner or later if he has not already.
I do not agree that he spoke out of vendetta for the current president. His fault in the local government issue was that he disobeyed the order of the court. Beyond that, he was on the side of the constitution in his stance on the creation of LGs by the then Lagos State government.
Regarding corruption and development, the former president proved by his successes in his terms in power that the effects of corruption could be minimised so that it would not prevent development. His government has been the best since 1999 despite having to work with utterly corrupt politicians and people. In fact all a government needs in a situation like we have in Nigeria is to ensure that it's immediate constituency (governmemt) runs efficiently. It does not need to try to reform the morality of society by empty speeches and expensive programmes. It only needs to show example.
President Obasnajo did exactly that as military head of state when he declared austerity. Cars above 2.0 cc were not allowed in Nigeria. The official car of the head of state was a Peugeot 504 which was assembled in Nigeria as part of a transfer of technology and self-sufficiency programme. It was the Shagari government that deatroyed the economy by introducing the same extravagant spending that characterised the politicians of the first Republic and was one of the excuses for the first military coup.

It is only in Nigeria were old head of state like Obasanjo is still active in politics when he is suppose to be retired. He is one of the people who killed Biafrans for one Nigeria. We should ask him if the Nigeria i am seeing is the legacy he wants to live behind when he is no more. Shame

Perhaps this panel is playing the devils advocate, otherwise it is difficult to make sense of your argument against Laolu’s position that the Messenger is the issue on this matter. With all due respect , please consider that certain Messengers are more important than their messages. That’s certainly the case when former Rulers make comments on sticky problems that have remain unresolved over the years, such as the one former President Obasanjo spoke about. The serious question to such a Messenger is : Giving the golden opportunity you had, did you resolve the problems of corruption and weak structure, under which every thing else revolves. No reforms can stand for long without resolving these fundamentals. So long as we continue to kick the can down the road, none of our past leaders have any moral right to complain or criticize the condition of things in the country today . Rather they should remain sober in lamentation of a lifetime opportunity wasted because they are part of the problem.

If you are a student and you failed a subject (course)3 times. That student is a failure. So, Obasanjo, even though you are right but it is not enough for you to criticise Tinubu regime on television or on radio alone.
What you should do, if you are really honest about your criticism of Tinubu's regime, please be bold, LEAD A PROTEST spearhead a revolution.

Obasanjo has a vendetta against Tinubu...and that point is more important than focusing on the failure of the present government? Obasanjo's apology is more important than Tinubu's failures? This guy is the one that has a vendetta against Obasanjo. Dude is clearly a closet Tinubu apologist pretending to be a moralist. Obasanjo was corrupt and incompetent and if he doesn't own up, Tinubu should keep on failing? So he's afraid Tinubu will be taken out of the villa? Tinubu should remain in the villa in order to punish Obasanjo? I don't even know what this guy is saying. Sad mind.

    Mr. Man, you're talking nonsense!
    You're not honest.
Unfortunately, Nigeria 🇳🇬 as country, will continue to face these upheals until justice is done. The Holy Book says: "Righteousness/justice builds up a NATION, SIN is a disgrace. Nigeria as a country is facing a karma of injustice. Examine well what's going on; all the tribalism, bigotry, exclucionism and marginalisation of one ethnic group. And you think Nigeria 🇳🇬 is going to be well? Nigeria will have to look inward.
It's time to do the needful. Have you asked yourself this question? Are the people in Nigeria, really citizens? A country that is so divided., a country that's still based on indigenized ideology, a country that still believes that everyone is different from everyone, can't stand.

I honestly don't know what's wrong with us Nigerians. No wonder we can never move forward bcos we are always quick to support mediocrity, lack of knowledge, and bad governance. How could a sane man like this ass be here talking ill of a person that left office 20yrs ago? What did Tinubu tell us before he became the selected president. He said he would come to repair what the previous govt which he has been a part of. But unfortunately, we are going backward. Not until we start holding public officers accountable we can not move forward. If Obasanjo should keep quiet who is going to speak? U oga, are you speaking for the little man on the street? What Obasanjo said is nothing short of what is going on in the country.
